Have a look here - there are other contacts that I think he introduces you too, before reverting back to him around level 30.

Every 5 levels there are arcs for the VEATS - they're all much shorter than the Kheldian ones though.

Out of the big names?
Calystix. Headcase with a coral head
Television and Radio are quite nuts.
Cant really think of many NPCs atm.

You claim that the radio is talking you, asking you to do things for it, and you think the radio is nuts?

Heh heh. Much merriment at that comment here -
*Warning: May break the Fourth Wall a little bit*
Out of all the enemies we face in City Of Heroes, we have many who are certifiably insane.
Take the Clockwork King for example. He thinks that every new hero on the block is similar to Blue Steel, the hero who crippled him.
Now, to crib from my favourite superhero universe, this would mean he'd end up in Arkham, rather than Blackgate.
So who in our universe would end up going to the asylum, rather than the Zig and why?
I reckon the Clockwork King, for the reasons listed above.
Vazhilok because he's using cadavers as his army
Mako because he's a friggin' shark.
And anyone who claims that Nemesis did it, since the man is such an obvious meme.
Any others? -
I think that rather than spend taxpayers' money on policing thousands upon thousands of forums in the country and making sure that the moderators of those forums have no criminal record (innocent! Or just very good at hiding the evidence!), it would be better if the taxpayers' money was spent teaching parents about the web, the possible dangers, the likelihood of said dangers without media bias that says IT HAPPENS EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY and the ways that the parents can ensure their kids are safe.
For example:
"Dad, Mum, I'm going out to meet someone I met on the Internet."
"Okay dear, just make sure you're back before it gets dark."
is not the best way, but I'll be damned if I agree that it's the forums' fault for this happening.
And disagreeing with the way that legislation is put in place doesn't automatically make someone a paedophile's friend. Just the same as someone calling for this legislation to be put in place doesn't automatically make them a Daily Mail reader (sorry Stasis, I'll stay away from that stereotype now). -
I voted for Energy Blade (or whatever it was).
Alas, my non ripped-off character Idej will have to wait for TOR to make an appearance -

It must be true, it says so in the Daily Mail!!!

My point exactly! (layered with heavy layers of irony). -

... that is crawling with sex perverts...

It's that type of exaggeration which prevents anyone from being able to comment rationally on the issue.
Right. I've no problem with trying to prevent kids being groomed on the internet. This law is an attempt to do so, but I personally feel, like Tsum that it's targetting the wrong area - parents should be responsible for what their children do, rather than a complete stranger (which is what a forum mod is) - yes, when you drop your kids off at the youth club or whatever (not a parent myself and have no wish to speak for parents), you've got the guarantee (or do you?) that someone has been vetted.
Given the number of forums in the country, that doesn't seem feasible. And given the potential for lawsuits that arrive with new regulations and laws, I can see many a company giving up forums as a risk too far.
I hope I'm wrong.
And yes, it has went to flames, far quicker than I would have guessed. -

Hallmarks attempt at world dominance finally played out as a storyboard is something I'd like to see

Heh. Oooh. Moral grey area for the Heroes! -
Appearance of the place looks good.
It's also nice to see the re-emergence of the story-type intros that accompany the Issues.
Can we get the same level of detail (story-wise) for the forthcoming Valentine's event? -
All those D3's had better get deleted then, huh?
-
Why even bother with creating a booster pack. Just buy the mac pack, for £9.99 and you basically get the Valkyrie costume set and Mission Transporter for £1, since you're getting a "free" month too?
I wouldn't waste the effort on a separate booster pack - it's easy enough to add for PC gamers at the moment. -

Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
Okay, seriously, Daily Mail reporters are not the ones who [censored] about gamers. It's the people who write in.

Oh shush, I'm just using a stereotype to make a point and you know it. -

Organisations with interactive websites likely to be used mainly by children must ensure that staff moderating the sites are not barred from working with children from October.
[/ QUOTE ]
Highlighted the essential thing here. This is not a forum mainly used by children.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know what everyone's saying above, but I personally believe that a company will shy away from negative publicity. As I said above, all it takes is one child to post on a gaming website, one Daily Mail reporter to see that and suddenly it's be "CRB certified website pisses all over the law".
It doesn't matter that it's not true or even rational. Hell, it might force those companies who were possibly considering not running forums officially off completely.
The law is a good thing (assuming you believe that every internet forum has a paedophile on it, despite the vast majority of cases being a close family member), but if it's implemented badly then it could mean the end to online forums supported by companies.
Not just for gaming.
Then again, I could be wrong. I just wanted to discuss it here. -
It did used to be. When COH was first launched it was 12+, which means that when the rating went up with the launch of COV, we had a lot of.... erm... indentured minors...
I agree with you about Ghostraptor and the banning and it is this factor that makes me think that companies will do away with the responsibility for forums, because all it takes is one child to post on a gaming forum and not be banned in a thread which catches the interest of the media and it's negative publicity all the way. The media won't care that the forum owner immediately banned said child, all they'll care about is "CHILD ON THE INTERNET, BURN GAMERS" angle.
Not rational in the slightest, but when has media ever been rational? -
[ QUOTE ]
This forum is for a game rated 16+, it is not a childrens site at all. So no. GR can have as many horrific sexual deviancy convictions as he likes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Many of our members have stated that they are younger than 16 in the past. The tricky thing with this law (like others, including the new Extreme Porn regulations in England and Wales) is policing it.
[ QUOTE ]
CoX shouldn't be affected by this, but I -can- see this being an end to official game forums in the future...
[/ QUOTE ]
Why wouldn't existing websites be affected? Surely the whole point it to clamp down on unregistered moderators on forums where children post? -
Story here.
Does this mean that Ghostraptor et al will need to get a security check done?
What does it mean for official gaming websites in general?
And is it a piece of legislation designed to pander to the media and the idiots that read it(yes, I appreciate the irony), but not actually accomplish anything as everyone flees on mass to foreign server hosts?
These questions and more, now to be ignored fairly quickly, in a forum debate near you! -

I thought it was about a certain near-sighted Aardvark and wasn't sure why people were posting screenies of him

Same as Praf about the No problems thing. I generally just hold down Start as I click the Logout option, then let go and browse the forum for 30 seconds (- an hour, depending on subject) or so until I'm back at the login screen.

Having a quick look at Paragon Wiki, it seems to alter your draw distance and the amount of detail rendered. Although, there's a warning for setting it to 4, maybe MA has a very high spec machine
Edit: ... What MA said.
[/ QUOTE ]
As said, it's not for every machine. I've got an 8800 Ultra in my rig, which copes pretty well it. -
Increases your view distance and brings objects closer to you in with a higher level of detail (for example, if I'm flying over Atlas Park, /visscale 4 will add in chimneys, air vents and trees at varying distances).
