Just so you know, that leaves you surrounded by invisible naked people!
Welcome aboard -

I don't blame her, I have an extraordinary degree of attractiveness, it's only natural women wish to bare parts of their anatomy for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't bare my ankles to you if you were the last man on Earth!

Is vomit part of a person's anatomy? -

So, Avatea, how do you pronounce that? AvaTEA, or AvaTeA?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've always pronounced it: Ah-va-té-ah. Because I'm posh.

And anyway, to know me is to love me...

Please tell me you didn't have a straight face when you typed that?
I think it should be your new sig. -

And that is bad business
[/ QUOTE ]
That's pretty par for the course in my experience. -
I have been reading through the thread ML - yeah, it was harsh, but I'll blame it on not dealing well with those in my job who demand to be put first for priority when they don't have a clue what's going on.
I do think that those who have posted(and I mean the ones who aren't normally complaining or whining) are over-reacting a little.
Given that the last time my company announced BIG news, the entire staff found out by reading the newspaper, it doesn't surprise me that NC aren't telling us anything, let alone spelling out their current plan.
Given that Avatea now has to organise a HUGE move that she would have had no idea about a week ago, I think the lack of any clear succession plan is to be expected.
Give reality a chance to take its course - the game is still here and we might as well keep playing it. That's why we're all here in the first place. -
Oh for crying out loud - every single industry in the world is laying staff off, buying up other companies for bargain prices (hello Square Eidos!).
If you need it spelled out to you given the financial state of the world, then it's probably too complicated for you to understand.
And if you want more PR, then you'll have to wait until they've got the Sales and Marketing departement reorganised. -

If I had a pound for every time people have said the moonbase is coming.....................
[/ QUOTE ]
You'd have 37 quid? -
I would (and do!) play both. Why limit yourself because of some rather arbitrary decision on what's better?
-
I think the Moonbase (which is probably linked to the construction that's been going on for ages in Steel & Port) will be the new zone in Issue 15.

MA will give us a chance to do something different with those maps.
Look out for my "find 37 glowies in the Eden Spire" mission.

Hey! I was going to put an "Escort the hostage out" mission in there!

Pfft. That's what the Chantry's for! -

If i was on the board at Cryptic I would be delighted at the (non) response NC have laid out in anticipation of CO. I really would
[/ QUOTE ]
One of the things they have promised (at some point, in Jack years) is player created missions.
No wonder NC isn't letting anything slip.
[/ QUOTE ]
MA is basically a response to COs archnemesis sytem. In CO you can create a villain, choose his look and powers, but you can't choose his minions, or write his story or dialogue. as well as other things, MA will let you create an archnemesis, with powers and costume, and choose his minions, and write his story, and write his dialogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, in other words, they are two completely unrelated things, with no connection to each other whatsoever?
Player created missions and an archenemy which appears randomly to confront you... yes, I see the similarity

it's the same thing all over again, america first, and europe can clean up there mess again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Try writing coherent, incisive, well thought-out and presented discussions and guides, with proper capitalised sentences, rather than whining that it's not fair.
Surely that is a much more effective way to get into a beta, rather than complaining that the US gets all the treats (and I believe the EU have had beta testers before anyway).
If I was in charge Mids, Arcanaville and Samuraiko (for example) would always get beta invites. Random people complaining it's not fair, either here or in the US, would get squit all.
[/ QUOTE ]
you're really missing the point, totally.
the US ALWAYS has the first laugh in this, the EU is just walking the side ways all the time.
i am not complaining, i say the fact, if you can't deal with it, your problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait so a handful of US players get to take part, thousands of US players AND EU players miss out and it's a vindictive attack on the EU how? -
I don't personally, but they've said that if someone keeps grading negatively then that'll get "flagged up".
Now whether that is negative grading against a single author or just 3 times in a row, I don't know.
It just means that you can't be in a foul mood and log in and go destroy people's attempts to get the badges.
Or it may not work that way at all. Wish I knew. *Waits for I14 patiently* -

. Even if tiny 0.1% of arcs would be any good, that's still dozens, maybe hundreds of good ones. Finding them might ber a problem though, look at any fanfiction site...
[/ QUOTE ]
Arent we able to give the missions a grade?
[/ QUOTE ]
Only thumbs up or thumbs down.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a pretty telling grade (it should also be noted that the graders are getting graded too, so that they can't just grade everything one way or the other). -
[ QUOTE ]
...and we still aim to misbehave
[/ QUOTE ]
Oooh shiny!
-
I used to dislike the slotting levels (my very first character, I deleted because I was so disappointed at level 34 to not get a new power).
Now, I love the levels from 31 onwards where we get extra slots. They make the characters more powerful.
And the anticpation of getting a new power is (for me, at least) more than enough to get me between levels too. -
I don't roleplay either, but I love creating stories. I have some (hopefully) good ones in my head around a lot of the minor villains and heroes that we face in our careers, the throwaway ones like Ubellman or Jim 'Thunderhead' Bartlett, that kind of thing.
I'll have deadly serious "HOLY [censored] IT'S THE END TIMES UNLESS YOU DO X" ones and slightly humourous ones "First came the Radio, then the Television, now it's the Blender's turn!" (Final product will hopefully be nothing like that though).
And since I generally only solo or duo anyway, I won't be taking a player away from other people. Take that evil, inaccurate Statistics! -
[ QUOTE ]
Look dont forget there is still a large base of players here who are not into RP and could careless about building there own missions...

Link to these official figures please? -

Ok, question; WHY is it only the Americans who get into Closed Beta anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
1) They only need a small number of testers. Most Americans arn't in closed beta either.
2) They can use the other test server to test emergancy fixes for issue 13 builds.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's that logic thing again. It's powerful, but not as LOUD as the whiny masses. -
[ QUOTE ]
Looking forward to see the system, fool around with it and make some story arcs. Have a few in my mind already.
My biggest hope though is that we can play the maps made on the US servers and they can play ours.
(If not atleast allow the Dev's choices to be able to cross the pond...)

Me too.
More variety, plus a way to expand the stories contained in the COH/COV universe is always a plus point in my book.
Regardless of what else is going on right now, this is the something I'm looking forward to.
