Quote:Well everyone knows this is a bit of a problem, here's my solution(s)
Vigilantes and Rogues stay with their Heroes and Villains side respectively.
When they make the full switch they go inactive and appear offline, they can't do anything unless they go back which they become active again
CON: Not able to join another SG/VG
Second;
When they make the full switch they are kicked from the SG/VG and are able to join new ones. When they make the switch back, a message pops up asking if they want to re-join.
CON: Might not work
I don't see the point. I think you're finding a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. -
Quote:I'm with you on this one. I prefer using an Email client. But since my current living situation means no privacy and sharing my computer, I am forced to stick to accessing all my email through the web.Yes. I will not deal with webmail unless I have no choice. I cannot stand the slow, clunky way most webmail sites are presented. I far prefer being able to get to my email, refer to past email, etc. whether or not I have a connection. (Thunderbird user here.) Plus some of my email gets large attachments - I'd rather just download it once instead of each and every time I go to that message.
Email app > any webmail for me. (And yes, I even use it to get Hotmail from the account I've had since before MS owned it, as well as my Gmail accounts.)
While I still prefer using Thunderbird, Gmail is pretty good now that I have it set up the way I want. -
I second that. Better late than never.
Quote:well, i hate to bring up the negative here, but this just makes it a lot easier for RMT to get the new peeps. all they have to do is email a trivial amount of infl/inf(prob 10,000-50,000) to a player and tell them that if they would like more to contact them. and we all know new players emails come turned on for everyone and unless they know that they can turn it off we're going to have a problem.
like i said, i hate to bring this part of it up, but someone had to do it.
Good question. I'm wondering that also. -
To add to my previous post, I think stamina is a nice power to have and it does make the game more enjoyable for me in general. But it is not needed to play the game effectively, that is a fact.

Quote:Looking silly is out of the question!Even in the skyscraper parts of Steel Canyon, enough of them have ledges that it's easy to keep gaining height and making relatively clear jumps even if you're not going in a straight line towards your target (you can bounce off the windows on most of them, too, if you don't mind looking silly). I love superjumping through Steel Canyon because I'm almost always going from skyscraper top to skyscraper top by the time I'm out of midtown, and that's just fun.
Why be a hero if you're not gonna look cool?

Quote:I skipped Fitness on my Cold/Dark Defender. Now I PL'd all the way to 50 and then sunk over a billion influence into the build for massive recharge and lots of defense, so I don't know how that would have worked out had I played to 50.What, if any, defender combos would you consider running Fitness-less?
Some time back I made a Cold/Dark defender. I figured that between Defenders' inherent Vigilance, Heat-loss at l32, and maybe Conserve Power with APPs, I'd be pretty well set to live a Fitness-less life if I stayed mainly in groups.
However, at 27, I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth the agony. I'm slotted heavily for end reduction with at least 1 on all my Cold Domination powers. (3 on Arctic Fog) I've been concentrating on AoE control effects from the Dark sel, and have slotted them for end reduction as well. However, I frequently never get to use them because I seem to go through my endurance using only my Cold Domination powers pretty darn skippy.
But with perma hasten and near perma Heat Loss the only end redux I have is because of IO sets.
Not sure how helpful my answer is since you're going about this a different way than I did. -
Quote:This. There really is no point to the OP at all, as none of us have any power to change the situation. The OP should have just petitioned, perhaps told her friends to petition, and then moved on.
Anything else is really just drama-based attention seeking. And I should know, we can smell our own. -
I agree, there is no way he should possibly come to any kind of conclusion like that based on all the wonderful things said about those builds. Especially if he admits that he isn't sure if he's right and welcomes others opinions. How dare he!!

Quote:I think adding unique IOs that offer 1-3 mag protection for various status effects would be nice. If it were added, I think it would be best if a single IO only protected from one effect(example, immob or hold protection, not both from one IO).Oh, and in addition to this, unique IO's for immobilization protection would be nice too, we got knockback and what not, throw me a bone and make an immob one so i can finally skip combat jumping for once.
But more importantly, I think combat jumping is freakin awesome. The combat movement it offers makes me cry happy tears.
Quote:Oh yeah, and another one, almost forgot.... a global bank type system. Basicly my lvl 50 goes to the bank, can drop influence or salvage into it, and another toon, on my one account, under the same global, can take it out or deposit there own stuff. Would make moving things between my toons soooo much easier when friends aren't around. -

I may take you up on that, I'll hit you up in PM if I decide to do it. Thanks. And I'll also do the same for anyone else as long as it isn't Freedom(my slots are full on that server.

Quote:I'm actually hoping someone has my name on one of the characters I'm thinking about transferring. The one thing to look out for is names. I've been finding that my name is usually already taken on the new server when I move a character. You get a free rename token. If you move off of one server, and then come back later, there is no guarantee that someone won't have taken your name while you were gone.

Cool, thanks for the quick answer.

Since the OP's question was answered I'll add in another question so I don't have to start a new thread.
If I move a character for free now, will I be able to move him back to my home server at a later date if I want? I ask because I play a particular character a lot and I was thinking of moving him over to a new server(besides Freedom) for a while to earn some prestige to start up a new personal SG and get some teleporters. I'm thinking I don't want him to remain on the new server forever(though I could always change my mind). I'm happy to pay for a transfer back to Freedom at a later date, but a friend mentioned he thought that wasn't allowed/possible for some reason. I just want to confirm that before I make my move. Thanks. -
Quote:Personally I would be fine with option 2. But as long as most of the Task Forces are able to be soloed, I don't see a point in keeping the restriction around. If someone chooses to ignore a TF warning when they try to solo it, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
There are two ways to fix it (probably more, but I think that these are the two main ones):
1) Remove the teaming restrictions, put in a little caption saying that it's very hard content to do solo or with small teams, and remove the intent of the TF as being team content. Or,
2) Keep the intent, and make the TFs worthy of being team content.
Hell the way they TFs are now(at least several of the original six), I've thought about selling spots for a few million influence for people to just log in for the last mission so they can get merits. With the right build, they just aren't very hard. The supersidekicking system just made them that much easier for level 50s that want to do them as well. -
I think the benefit would probably be small for most people. Sounds really just like a time saver.
-
Sounds like a good idea to me. I don't PvP, and I play on Freedom. I like when I team with PvPers for task forces I like it because often they just want to get through it as fast as possible for the reward and XP. I like that.

Some content in the game will still be directed at teams only.
I don't understand why people insist on making others jump through hoops to enjoy themselves. Especially when it won't hurt them in any way. -
I can buy the work argument as well. Obviously we have no idea how much work a change like that would require, but if it is any significant amount then I can understand the feature not being implemented. But much like you, I'll keep asking for it.

Quote:With claws hasten isn't required to get a good attack chain. That being said, I take hasten on pretty much every character I have, primarily because I also take SS + CJ as my travel power on almost every character. After 5+ yrs in the game, I'm running my 1st Claws/SR Scrap. She just dinged lvl 16. It'd seem that....with SR's "Quickness" and a few I/Os in later lvls to further increase movement speed...Hasten may not be necessary.
Can "Quickness" + various I/Os = Hasten? Or should I take Hasten, as well, for added recharge?
Thanks in advance!
