Quote:No. It won't.
You can take the exact build you have now and not change it at all, except you get to add three powers that don't get any slots. This does not "make the build tighter" because you haven't lost anything you already had. All that's happening is you're not gaining as much more as you would like, but since what you're getting is free that's not really a fair complaint.Quote:You're really not doing anything of the sort, and your reasoning is pretty fundamentally flawed. You don't have any less slots to allocate than you did before.
In fact, with three more power choices to use, with just their base slots, you have three more slots on a character to stick IOs in that you didn't have before. And if you didn't take all four fitness powers before, and Swift and Hurdle remain seperate powers, you actually have four more slots to stick IOs in. Sure, you won't be able to full slot out these powers, but so what? There are many powers that are useful with no extra added slots.
I don't think yall understand what he is saying. In this context tighter build simply means less slots per power. Which is true. -
Quote:Scrappers are an "I win" button.I never really thought too much about how much easier my suggestion, about extra slots, would make the game. You are right, it is pretty easy now. If they did give extra slots, they might as well give us an "I win" button.
Quote:Haven't tried it. I'm guessing that when they drop one of those crystals, you'd be dead before you can target and destroy it. So probably have to immediately move. The other drops are probably just annoying. Hmmm, no, the bosses would release swarms of swarms, wouldn't they? Yeah, doesn't sound particularly doable. But I'm guessing, and you already know. -
I agree with your point overall. But to me the email change was a fix to the email system. It should have been there in issue 9.

As a result I do not ever choose toggle power-picks until after Stamina [especially things like DAMAGE AURAS which have EXTREMELY high end-costs, omg] with the exception of anti-mez/sleep and -KB shields, which run all day every day until my blue bar is literally empty. -
Quote:On principle I am opposed to this game moving to directx. I'm not in favor of CoH moving to Microsoft's proprietary technology.I disagree here. CO was epic phail out of the box so it was never competition for anyone. Now DCUO on the other hand will give CoX a run for its money. Unless there is a complete engine overhaul, like say moving off this open gl crap to direct x, something that will make good use of the graphics cards alot better than laggy *** ultra mode with not so much hella lag like grandville, we might have something.

Scrapper. What yall should do is race each other every single mission to see who can cause more destruction. IMO, that is the only reasonable choice.

Quote:QFE. This is gonna be awesome for my Scrappers. Whether I take stealth pool for more recharge, my rez powers, or break my moral opposition to Aid Self, this will impact every single Scrapper I have in a massive way.I will be respecing every single Scrapper I have. Every. Single. One.
With Castle's recent statements I'm standing by my earlier speculation. So if I stamina scales in power as you level am I the first one to call it? -
Quote:There is no such thing as free sex. Period. There is always a cost. Not wanting inherent fitness is like not wanting free sex*. I'm sure some would make that choice but I will never understand why.
I'm wanting this too. Any links to transcripts of videos? -
Why not just level both?
As far as BS goes, it has good burst damage, ok ST, and below average AoE. I think. I'm sure someone will come along and correct me if I'm mistaken.
As far as Battle Axe, I have no idea. -
I think it will increase demand in Luck of the Gamblers, but it's anyone's guess how much. For example when I finally get around to IO'ing out my Spines/Fire I will at least consider taking the stealth pool for three LoTG Recharge I wouldn't have been able to slot previously.
-
Quote:I agree with this completely. On my DM/SR I only used tough for the steadfast, but that is only because I needed the slots elsewhere to accomplish certain goals I had in mind.I'd slot Tough and Weave up. However, some people just stick a Steadfast Protection unique in Tough and never run it. I think that's often a mistake, as Tough helps round out your survivability on a Super Reflexes. But whether you run it or not, START with a Steadfast Protection in Tough, and slot up from there if you want.
Eventually I will respec MunkiLord(probably after the Fitness change), and when I do I plan on five or six slotting tough(depending on set bonuses). It is a fantastic power and I strongly suggest investing slots in it if possible. -
My guess is they unlock anywhere from level 1-4 and scale up as you level(possibly becoming full strength level at 20), much like travel powers and and mez protection.
If Stamina doesn't unlock until 20 then that does nothing for the low level game, and I'm assuming those complaints at least played a factor. -
-
I strongly encourage all non flying characters to try this power out. It is quite simply one of my favorite powers in the game for its versatility and almost non existent endurance cost.

Quote:Cold/Dark defenderThinking of mine...
Warshades (late) can get by without it.
I've got a Dark/Dark Scrapper, early-mid 20s, that doesn't have it and is working fine.
One Dom, I believe.
A few masterminds.
... so off my 200-odd characters, at least, I think your guess is close. Some characters I just can't get around taking it (fire/storm controller, for instance.)
Friend has high recharge Dark/invul scrapper
My warshade doesn't have it!
Though at some point Bill that dark/dark scrapper is gonna want something for end management. Good thing Stamina is going inherent! -
I'm pretty sure trademark law would prevent that from happening. Now locking up the name now does prevent a potential trademark lawsuit if someone tried(which NCSoft would win), which is good because those things can be time consuming and expensive.
-
Go away. Nothing wrong with telling somebody that they posted a poor build. However if you're going to do that you really should try to be helpful and not an ***.
-
The possibilities are swirling in my head. Assuming Stamina doesn't get nerfed to compensate, this could allow for some crazy slotting possibilities. Even if I don't have any extra slots(cuz I still use them in Health and Stamina) I'm not opposed to essentially three free slots for IO mules.
-
The more I think about the Fitness change, the more I'm starting to like it.
I like to min/max my builds and potentially having three extra powers will be nice. Even if I can't slot them, I'm sure I can find a use for them as IO mules at the least. For example, I could take the stealth pool on my new Spines/Fire Scrapper and stick three Luck of the Gambler Recharge IOs in there(not saying I will, just a possibility).
My buddy has a DM/Inv Scrapper extremely high end that has tanked Lord Recluse and soloed the ITF(master run), without Stamina. Now he won't have to rely on blue insp so much and may be able to drop Dark Consumption all together! -
Quote:This. Sure inherent fitness will make it somewhat easier for some. But I bet most of the players getting knocked around in Praetoria will continue to get knocked around. The game is too easy, but it's not too easy because Stamina will become inherent.
IMO this game does not take much skill at all. What separates the 'average' player from the 'elite' player is knowledge. A monkey can stand next to a boss or in the middle of a mob and click some buttons to defeat them. That isn't hard. Where the 'better' players have an advantage is knowing how best to slot their characters to maximize their strengths and what enemies and how many they can handle and how to take advantage of the AI. -
Quote:Really hope the mention of fitness as an inherent is a joke....... This game is already too easy. Watering it down even more is a horrible direction.
I understand your concern and typically I agree with you. But since the new end game stuff is supposed to be the hardest content in the game, I'm hoping it balances out. -
People probably won't have to respec if they want. I'm assuming(yeah I know) that it won't mess with players power choices until they respec. So if you like your build currently on live then I bet we'll be fine.

According the the tweet i19 hits this fall!!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, GR is fantastic, but tough end game is what I've been waiting for and wanting the most. I'M ******* EXCITED FOR THIS. Honestly I wasn't expecting it until December, at the best(pure speculation).

Quick question, would the Performance Shifter proc in Consume be a good investment? To me that seems like a better use of that slot then a sixth Scirocco's Dervish.
-
I'm not opposed to the idea of stronger IOs in the low game, I just think it's kinda pointless and they aren't needed.
Also, I'm completely against something this good being tied to Vet Rewards.
