i do not want to slide in to the "perv" Zone

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Perv Zone of course was the sequil to the Twilight Zone that was cancled after the pilot episode

When Miss does revealing costumes I usually joke with her about it and then we move on. For any other characters who have little or no clothes on... who cares. They're just pixels.

I think I would be more morally outraged if I had a child and they were playing the game. Hay, we're all allowed doubble standards sometimes

    [ QUOTE ]
Whenever I see a completely naked character with a suited name (i.e. "Naked Girl") I'll wonder who stole their creativity and move on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You only have to look at the creative forum to realise it was given to someone much more deserving
  5. [ QUOTE ]

I'm sure they're preetty good. way better than mine atleast.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They're alright. I might show some to Miss and ask her what she thinks.

I have a whole page of noses actually. I might post those and ask people to pick one *

I don't have anything I feel confident at posting yet, but I might do soon, have to wait and see.

And we'll be here to encourage you

Remember to have fun doing it

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am having great fun doing it actually. It's incredably frustrating to me at the same time though as I spent so long with the Guitar and have got stuck into that sort of learning structure. I find drawing alot different to that.

I did pick up the D&K Marvel book that Mothers Love suggested and I have found that alot better than the "How to draw comics the Marvel way" one.

I'm getting there but I am a terrable perfectionist (actually I am rather good at it) so I probably won't post anything until I am REALLY happy with it.

Why do i feel ive taken over this thread

    Linky

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't worry about it. If I keep seeing people posting there efforts it will make me keep sticking at it*.

I don't have anything I feel confident at posting yet, but I might do soon, have to wait and see.

*Mr Marvellous apologuises for the distinct lack of grammer in that sentance but can't be bothered to change it
  8. I don't know. Actually I'm not sure why I am posting here. We set up MarvelloCorps earlier in the year and there is just the two of us.

I recon we must have started around Februairy time, but I could be wrong. I might have to find out somewhere.

We are now looking to expand our base. In the next week we should have the cash for the next plot up, 2 more teleporters and a teleport room.

We already have the control, power (with 2 Aux items), 2 teleporters (4 locations) a work table and a sizeable room for decoration.

So It's taken about 8 months at my count, but that could be completely wrong, and we're still going.... with 2 of us.

I don't think you will ever finish building your base. Obviously there will be a point where your rent is equil to the prestege you earn.

I recon you could have a working, raidable base in a month or 2 if you have 20 very active players. But then I don't really know anything about it.

    Sorry...

Wish I could be more help

Easy way to avoid the 14 days thing - DON'T pay rent as soon as you're asked to - ignore the request until your generator shuts down - THEN pay - the 14 day counter is from when you pay it each time you see <img src="/uk/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

    [/ QUOTE ]

That means that the devs didn't think about this thing?! And we should have faith in them for the future?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh I have faith in the devs for several reasons...

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I don't, possibly for exactly those same reasons. We will probably never know

i would like to nominate the frankly Marvellous fan site from Mr Marvellous.

Thanks for the nomination. It is as much Miss' site as it is mine though. She deserves it as well.

  11. [ QUOTE ]
I really don't see why the hell a PvP group should be forced to put more time and effort into getting a base the way they want to than a RP group.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree to some extent but I do feel that buying a functional item (a teleporter for example) should be alot more expencive than getting a large decorative item because the decorative item has no function ergo no bases for a risk/reward comparison.

You have to balance bases from the point of the average player who is (more than likely) part into PVP, part into PVE and slightly interested in making things look nice. I'm afraid that gives a greater benefit to RP groups but the difference between RP groups and PVP groups is an extream one. If you made the same comparison between PVP and PVE groups (who will get functional items for there base) then the argument is alot more valid, mostly because an RP group could be satisfied with just the one room and a chair (very Pinter I know ).

    UPDATE

A video of Woman of War's powers in action can be found in her bio section in group members.

    [/ QUOTE ]

On that note. I'm really impressed with the work Miss is doing on the videos. They are nothing to do with me at all. Please have a look at them, I know she works very hard on each one.

Also, August nominations are being taken for Creative Genuious and we are eligable. We would both be honoured if anyone would consider nominating our little site.

OK. I've done one. Nothing special but I quite liked the gag.

  14. Ok, how about this for an idea.

    A Jedi!

It's an easy costume to make (I did one for a friends star-wars themed birthday) and there are TONES of tutorials on the net about how to make them. Plus, they don't need to be that involved to look alright.

It cost me £15 and a night of sewing for the complete getup and you can get Lightsaber's for around £15 as well IIRC.

This is the tutorial I used but I modified it slightly using ideas from eHow.com and The Padawan's Guide

Never let it be said that I don't do my research
  15. OK I managed to scan these just before coming home but Deviant art appears to be playing up a bit so couldn't see these in my gallery.

Anyway, they are just some studies. I'm following a few things in 'How to draw Anything' by Mark Linley and I also picked up a book called 'How to Draw Comic Book Heroes and Villains' by Christopher Hart. It was an old dog-eared copy from a car boot sale but it has been good. Anyway, here they are:

    The River

    The Bridge

    A Study of Heads
  16. Brilliant idea (and nice work Zortel). I'll be posting a few things as soon as I can get a new scanner. Damn thing broke

    [Edit]

As an after though. I was wondering if the whole learning to draw thing had changed peoples perceptions of shapes and there interaction. I know it has with me.

-Correct me if I'm wrong but you went straight with the pen on the paper?
-You ran out of paper space

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um, no actually. I started with pencil and knew that I wanted the page to be the frame and that the whole wouldn't fit within those bounds.

Thanks for the advice there. I'm trying to do that is a few studies I'm doing at the moment. Oh, and I've not forgotten about learning more traditional techniques either.

aving said all that, I'm still in awe at one of the most important part of the whole process: imagination. You seem to have lots.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thank you very much

    [ QUOTE ]
I ain't just saying this, but that has got to be one of the simple most coolist drawing in the world, i love the creature, alot of imagination used i like the hands aswell, and the pose, its great in my opinion!

Wow, thanks. I wasn't expecting anything like that from my first drawing.

Let me know if that wasn't the answer you were looking for =p

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, that was perfect, just what I was looking for. I am only on page 17 of 'How to Draw Anything' and so far have only looked at landscapes but I use photoshop alot for web stuff (nothing like drawing but I think it's helped me alot) and wondered how to start using it for illistration.

That guide really helped. even in French which I can't read one bit of

I think your work is absolutely fantastic and this is no exception.

This one brought up a question however; how do you go from the original sketch to the fully coloured one?

I don't mean to ask how to colour a work but mearly what is your process for getting it onto the computer? Do you colour first of after? If so, what problems do you have to overcome?
  21. I've not drawn before. I always wanted to try but never got into it in school. It was one of the few things I just wasn't any good at. Well inspired by the new artists and how they are getting on I thought I would try again and I'd got a few books from earlier in my life (all untouched) and over christmas I picked up a copy of 'How to Draw Anything' by Mark Linley.

I've only done the first tutorial thing in it so this isn't great but I kind of wanted to show off what I've done aready.

    The Subject:
Some of you will have read my story 'The Creature'. It's still not finished (that is my next job) but this is my imagnining of the creature.

I would be most greatful of any comments or advice that anyone can give me. I'm looking forward to doing some more drawing soon.

    @Rot

There are TONES of books and websites that I use. For a complete beginners course then the best resource is flashkit.com but it depends what type of website you want to make, Flash or HTML.

I have decided to write several tutorials that will include things like 'Which site is best for me' and 'What Tools Do I Need'. I expect they will appear on our website when done
