Quote:If you are making less than a billion a week you are probably a casual player/farmer/marketeer or just being lazy for that week.
Gratz!
A question - how many people in this forum consider 1 billion infamy very easy to make? Anyone?
Sure seems like a lot.
They say the first billion is the hardest, but really anymore after you have one decent farm build that can ticket cap a mission in 6 - 10 minutes? You should *easily* be able to pull out 500 mil a week farming for bronze rolls a few nights here and there. -
Regen Scrappers are so the new farm targets in zones. Double AS ftw! Headsplitter, GFS, Impale roots like a BISH just get a stalker buddy and 2 shot 98% of them. (No sharks, sorry!)
They are easier to play because mindless damage spam doesn't work as well on them as Blasters, Defenders, or Controllers, but outside of MoG (which you can 10 count through) they go down fast. -
I think if someone fails to post a roster within 48 hours as the RULEZ say the draftee's in question should be entered back into the draf....... HEY WAIT A MINUTE I SEE WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!!!
I feel tricked, just going to add another vote for a spanking. -
9 Kills and 4 deaths? OVER 3 HOURS???
Even if you made up those numbers and Con farmed your brains out... that is just barely above 2 kills per death. And that is taking into account you aren't on a blaster or stalker. Those numbers are still bad.
You do have a great new tag line for all the new PvP'ers
-----------------------------------------------------
Tired of all the SS/SJ'ing/Hibernating Stalkers scoring 10 Kills to *Maybe* 1 Death every 5 minutes or so.
Tired of that FoTM Psi/EM almost 4 shotting people from 120+ yards every 25-30 seconds?
ACT NOW! You too could roll a TP/Flying traps defender/corrupter and spend THREE HOURS in the zone to land yourself NINE of the most "SKILLED" kills you have ever seen. We are talking classics like "TP'ing afk people into a field of trip mines" or the always favorite "Whoops, another Regen scrapper just ran into all my traps." Maybe even some new favorites you aren't familiar with like "Watch me TP Placate this guy then rad snipe him for TOO MUCH DAM" or "Trapping good players by out thinking them" Sure you might barely manage a 2-1 Kill/Death Ratio, but don't let that stop you from purchasing this deal!
We know what you are thinking, why put so much emphasis onto a character with such a sub par performance? We don't know!!!!! But you too can have your own Flying/TPing trapper and personal training sessions with "Trap Master" Dahjee for just 3 easy payments of $19.99. Act now and while supplies last we'll throw in our new special "GALACTOR PRESENTS Flying RAD/RAD's and you" as well as "Flying 1000 HP emps, Buffers of the Sky"
Offer not Valid in Wisconsin. -
To put Dahjee's claims in perspective..... I had a better kill death ratio in 30 minutes on a farm build in Virtue RV. With not only more total kills but less overall deaths.
-
Don't believe anyone who tells you Mind/Rad isn't an awesome build!!!! They just don't even know. >.>
This is what I run on mine.

So I took my farming SD/SS/Pyre tank out to Virtue tonight. (And Saw Mac stalking, Hai Mac!)
Quote:I'm sorry but you are very wrong there....However, I do not consider Virtue to be lacking in quality PvPers when compared to Freedom
It not only lacks quality but quantity. If I could go around and get just shy of about 50 rep on a farm build with no escape, no self heal, no SJ or anything like that in about a half an hour of messing around? There is something wrong.
If I ever tried to do something like that on freedom I'd be a farm target.
I also looked for hovering tping trap corrupters but sadly I had to settle for some poor Bots/traps MM. Melt Armor/Shield Charge/Footstomp/Fireball wrecks though!
So saying something "Works on Virtue" doesn't exactly hold water if you can end up with like a 14/2 Kill/Death ratio on a farm build. -
Quote:Your entire post... from using TP as a 300 yard placate (What brain did people are you fighting that simply can't re target you while you hover... completely stationary in the air)
I make no ridiculous claims
To suggesting that you actually KS people by TP'ing ahead of the target to drop into a rad snipe on a corrupter? When does this work? One in 500 attempts?
To thisQuote:Hell I TP blasters 300ft in the air and web them just to watch them Hib. so I can put mines under them.
Surely there are no ridiculous claims here. None at all. -
Quote:This suggests you understand very little of how things work. Breaking LOS will stop further attacks from landing but the spike itself will still apply the damage. No matter how far away you get, once the initial to hit rolls are made. LOS is best used to avoid follow up attacks or interruptable ones like snipes and AS.Knowing how to use LoS prevents most ranged spiking... this applies to all ATs and sets I believe. They teach it in PvE.
Quote:And I'm curious... how exactly do YOU catch a Hovering TP'ing Corr that can web you too? Cause instead of catching me when I'm TP/Hovering about, most of what I see of SS/SJ'ers is Hibernating or running back to base once webbed, and out ranged and/or blinded and/or debuffed...
As a blaster if you are webbed/-jump, you run... not from the loltraps corrupter, but the 5 hidden stalkers looking for an easy AS. The problem is... brutes, all corrupters, VEAT's, MM's and even stalkers can all take webs as well. So why did you roll traps on a corrupter again? Is it the stationary acid motar? The stationary psn gas trap? The incredibly slow seeker drones? The Stationary triage beacon, or maybe trip mines, which don't even work anymore with TP foe (If the target has half a brain and isn't afk thanks to the phase period you get after it)
Quote:Farm Targets IMO are the very visible beams of SS hopping across a zone far below me... whose only hope of reaching me rest in the dependancy of a temp jetpack, lol... and whose complete confidence is ripped from them once web grenaded in an open zone. These are the peeps who haven't realized that SS/SJ is only optimal in arena where your kinda in an mission map size worth of space and just about every second counts... while in a zone well... SS/SJ is kinda clumbsy when compared to having the zone from top to bottom to use. It causes more running off back to base like a pro than it does running in to get a kill. I just TP up and laugh at people. Hmm, I wonder if Hiberate's requrement on most reccommended builds has something to do with the choice of travel??
As for Hibernate, if I was dumb enough to make a build actually for zones, it'd take phase. Hiber is just asking to be camped. My point/question to you would be, sure you can get away from some people thanks to TP'ing to the ceiling of RV. Exactly how many can you catch when they evade you?
In the end it sounds like what you do is try to set up kills for other people (in between getting farmed). The problem is... there are so many builds that do it better and have powers that are infinitely more useful and much less situational.
The fact that you actually came to freedom.... then left after getting farmed doesn't really help your case. Asking people to come to virtue to show you what you've already been shown on freedom is just kind of dumb. -
Quote:Sonic/Pain or Rad/Pain both make good support toons. If you decide to attack sonic has the stacking -res debuffs. Rad has a pile of procs you can slot so both are good.Which one of these corrupters is best for pvp?
sonic/pain
sonic/rad
elec/therm
rad/pain
or
sonic/therm
Son/Rad I'd probably leave to defenders because of the higher values on EF and Defender Sonic Blast.
Elec/Therm for duels.
Son/Therm for more of a hybrid toon who can help with heals, disruption, and spikes. -
Quote:If by avoid you mean pew pew them with psi blasts from 130 yards away or get a few stalkers to shark them from 80 yards. Drive by T-Strikes work really well too. Also if I hovering tp'ing corrupter isn't a farm target I don't know what is.You don't farm good trappers.... you avoid them. Haven't we been paying attention?
Keep posting though, the more people you get to build builds like, the easier it is to get PvP Io's. -
I for one welcome more traps defenders and corrupters in the zones. They make very easy farm targets. If they are decent, they'll spam webs which set up easy kill's where I can KS them.
-
Quote:To be fair this makes good sense. There was a window of opportunity where you were guaranteed to play. You could have either started up your own team or signed up for the initial draft. You were GUARANTEED a spot on a team AND if you showed up in Pocket D, you HAD to be played. It was announced in the PvP forum, player announcements as well as on the server boards, and spammed in the zones for those who didn't check the boards. It appears as if you are saying the intention wasn't to get new players to play alongside vets or that we shafted some players. Everyone that registered on time got picked. EVERY ONE. The late entries didn't all get placed. From my perspective, placing all of them would have been a detriment to the teams and a few getting to play is better than none of them.
Making it sound like the PvP community is excluding people in the second draft is just dumb when all anyone had to do was follow simple instructions and meet a well advertised deadline. -

Here I was thinking you were going to say for the dmg/end piece not the acc/dmg.
In bronze rolls I usually end up with a pile of the acc/dmg's and a few dmg/ends. Unfortunately over the about 100k tickets haven't seen any Dmg/Ends just a pile of KB procs.
(Of course I needed 4 for a build, so now that I have them slotted I"m sure I'll start rolling them again) -
Lots of work needed.
Proc out Psi Dart if you can. 5 Apoc 1 Glad jav if you can.
Power Thrust should get 6 Kinetic Crashes
Mental Blast 4 Devastations + Proc
TK Blast 4 Devastations + Some procs
Will Dom 4 Devastations + Some procs
Snipe > Total Focus
Tactics underslotted.
Aim/BU too probably
Low runspeed in SS will make it a pain when you are webbed.
Not enough KB protection
Not enough HP
Not enough +Dmg
Without Accolades end use will be rough.
More Recharge is always nice -
-
I approve of this idea.
TS and Heal Decay was no where near severe enough for bad players to get kills. -
LF Group that will let me play my Mind/Rad
-
Success in Zones - KS'ing someone or just getting a kill the hard way if you feel like putting that much effort into it.
Failure in Zones - Landing Dual AS'es that some how cause the 1 shot code to apply about six times in one afternoon.
Success in Arena - Not being the farm target if your team loses. Using Clear Mind.
Failure in Arena - Playing backstreet boys on Vent rather than target calling. (Can be considered a success if you manage to get a kill though) When glue arrowed, tp'ing yourself from the pool near the statue on AP to the pool right across from it. Not taking the globe as your first option on the AP map. -
Quote:YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD NEXT TO THE ZONE PEOPLE!!!Have a friend, say a fleet admiral in the virtuous vanguard, log on the opposing team's side and team recall the opposing players into the drones.
BOOM WHERE IS MY POINTS?!?
-Kiri
But yeah, points are in the mail. 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. Shipping and handling costs apply -
-
Quote:I'd be willing to hear you how when you explain how you can tactically get away from anything in a zone after being webbed and 2+ people are attacking you aside of making it back to the base after you run out of HP.Exactly... the opposite... of this ^.
The time to pay attention and play smarter is when you're outnumbered.
Bonus points if you come up with a way to do it while toggle debuffed.
-points if you say "Phase/wait for phase to come up before you go out"
-points if you explain how to do it on a stalker, Scrapper or Tank. -
As said most of those attacks don't matter Ghost. As a stalker you pretty much have AS, Sharks and one big hitter (For when you are bad and can't land AS'es despite jamming the key to activate the power 1 foot away from the target only to get the "OUT OF RANGE" message)
What you didn't factor in for Thunder strike versus Total Focus or Energy transfer is crits.
ET doesn't Crit, at all.
Total Focus gets a partial crit.
Thunder strike gets a full crit with like a 50% for an extra packet of damage.
I think the real numbers are closer to :
TF - 504 from hide
ET - 455 from anywhere
TS - 770 from hide -
Quote:Zone PvP is there to farm as many targets as possible to get as many drops as possible. With HD and TS on there is really nothing else to do. Things like "Strategy" and "Tactics" don't really apply, especially when you add the fact that most encounters don't have any where near equal numbers.Yes, God forbid you should try things like "strategy" or "tactics" or "teamwork". I hear those things can actually make PvP fun. I hear there's this thing they used to do on the test server where two "teams" would fight each other and they would actually communicate so they could more effectively kill people.
