AE in it's current state is just not that interesting. I'm not slighting people's ability to tell stories. Some of the AE stories are fine.

I'm just not that enthusiastic about a tool that took so many resources to create and still basically delivers the same old mission formulas and gameplay we have had for 5 years. No branching story arcs, no true custom maps or environments, no true custom powers(just mix and match sets), no ability to create puzzle elements, no environmental interaction.

Maybe, just maybe, custom content in an MMO isn't that great an idea because it can never truly be custom content. It can only ever be stuff that the devs give us and nothing more.

AE is limited, IMO, by the same things that limit the current scope of the game. No new and interesting game elements or mechanics in the main game means that there are none in AE. We can't truly create our own stuff, just rehash maps and environments that we've seen an ungodly number of times already.

And so, when you stripped away the big exploits and brought AE farming back to an acceptable threshold, what did we find?

Surprise! Surprise! Not that many people are interested in something that truly doesn't offer them any gameplay more fun than standard dev content.

We also found that a LOT of people are lazy and like quick, no-effort leveling. I mean, we could have just done a survey or something...

    THIS.

I think base editing tools would have been a better investment.
  2. Maybe the Dev's should consider a more easeful approach to handling exploits/programming errors rather than simply trying to "kill all the ants" with a "3-ton weight"..

were you there on the test server when players kept on reporting ALL of the exploits to AE? Did you see how all those horrible exploits were reported weeks ahead of release and STILL made it to live? did you see Posi's rant over how players were "abusing" a system that the devs had complete control over? this is their track record. Build it, ignore the playerbase, publish it, ignore the playerbase, nerf it, blame the playerbase, rinse and repeat.

the whole of AE was ... A wonderful idea ruined by horrible execution.

Our dev team needs better communication.

oh, and a BIG pay raise.
  3. maybe one day devs will speak.

    maybe...

  10. How can anyone not in a wheelchair call walk a "power"?
  11. Walk Power - All characters will now have access to a new inherent power -- Walk! This toggle power enables characters to move at a comfortable walking pace.

To quote a certain redname... "I can't facepalm this hard enough."

when I first saw this... I thought it was a joke.

I've tried this awesome new power when teaming, and found out that by the time I actually got to the mission I was solo.

Perhaps its just a perception issue.

Ah well, At least I can hold Walk-a-thons now!

I know! I'll start an all female event!

    It will be a Walk-a-thong!

    Purple's

RMT's dont play the market, they dont have an impact, they are all make believe and dont exist.

Selling a perk which is not essential for gameplay and grants only a PvE benefit is a very common business model in modern MMOs.

There are actually MMOs where the cash shop contains items and perks that do impact PvP and are so advantageous that everyone else is markedly disadvantaged in comparison (double xp buffs for instance). This is really nothing to object to.

Correct! RMT's can and will kill a MMO if there is profit involved. If the devs wish to line their pockets with a little more green via booster packs, I'm all for it! Devs have to eat too! Wish there was a "base editing" booster pack...heh... ok I can dream, well... so long as my account remains active...

Yes I am one of those tin foil hat wearing rabbits!

    Proud of it!

    Purple's

    I agree with that Mac.

Eventually the market will balance out and the purp prices will be more acceptable,

    RMT's arent helping the situation.

    Purple's

    Yay forum time!

Just read over this thread and got updated.

A time ago- my crew was concerned about the price of purps and how they skyrocketed due to several events, meow farms, hami farms, and general exploits.

yeah we hate exploits with a purple passion.

We thought that the RMT's were behind alot of it, so we did a little homework.

Would you like to know what we found?

We found purple sets were for sale on their websites.

oh yes, we got angry quick. REPORTED. <And we are STILL angry over this>

That is breaking the law and the game.

Im under the impression that the OP wants a mechanic to be introduced that would nullify the ability for RMT's to do the whole "Purps held for ransom"

Yeah, that mechanic- as bad of an idea as it is- is at least an attempt to foil the RMT's control.

When I am foiling an enemies plans I often put myself in their shoes to better counterplan what their next step might be; I'm sure that RMT's are too smart to post in the forums, I'm most certain they pay attention to the forums very closely every day.

RMT's are our enemy. They can and will kill this game to turn a profit.

I dont want that to happen, because I love this game.

Yes, there is a bigger game out there. you are absolutely right. I also have seen alot of AE Babies in action, And I agree that they really do need to get out of AE and experience the game.

As a vet...It would have been nice to gain double XP in AE, The recipe rolls really do help me out alot when slotting up a build. It saves me alot of time, and I dont get to play as much as I would like >.<

Also some of the AE babies just might find a bigger game out there than atlas park and the AE building. So for me it is WAI.

    Rant over.

Patiently waiting for my US reactivation so I can compare EU/NA performance with my rubbish wireless setup.
I cant believe you are scolding people for useing something in a video game. Gloating doesnt become you.

I dont think its intentional. I think its a bug thats going to be neglected, probably because the team might be wiped out or some other reasonable..... reason...

    anyways: le' sigh.

Maybe I just eat too many carrots.
  19. Double XP is not working for AE.

    It's a known bug.

    Not a priority issue.

    le' sigh.
