The waypoint on the map isn''t named unfortunately. I spent a few minutes pointlessly looking around the area you zone into. If you mouseover the bastion of Shame waypoint, it gives you text. it's a pity they didn't do the same for Scirocco.

Quote:Yeah, this.I'll say it again, since the thread has been started a new!
I'll start back in Praetoria when I can start on primal, but do story arcs in Praetoria! Now, I could say my praetorian started character really is a primal, but the story arcs ruin that a bit, the exiting of Praetoria really does, and the badges do as well.
But give me the chance to go help the resistance or loyalists as a Primal and I'm back over to gold side!
I can't really identify with any toon I've started in Praetoria, and this is going to sound weird, but I think it's because Praetoria is an alternate dimension.
I know Paragon City and the RI don't actually exist either, but whenever I create a toon blue or redside, I have an unconscious knowledge of that character's background, because it is rooted in a version of 'our' world, with our continents and countries, our history (with subtle and not-so-subtle alterations of which we are all quite familiar), etc.
With praetoria, I created acharacter who was a lawyer until the start of her superpowered career, and I found myself thinking 'do they even HAVE lawyers in Praetoria?'
I found myself creating a toon who got his superpowers on Primal Earth, and the explosion or whatever catapulted him between dimensions to end up in praetoria, but then all the content there sort of assumes your toon is a native.
A problem i thjink, for me (probably not for new players, who have little or no knowledge of any faction) is that we have so much backstory and lore regarding Primal, but very little regarding Praetoria. So any toons I make there just seem...I don't know, fake, maybe. Or at least, more like NPCs I happen to be in control of. I can't believe in them.

The Tutorial is awful. The Giant Shivan battle is absolutely terrible. Embarrassingly bad IMO. I always park in front of it, /em chicken, and go make a cup of tea, and come back to find myself at the heli.
The Marshall Blitz fight in the SSA is fantastic. More of this kind of stuff please. The fight against the Chosen One (or whatever he's called) in the Abyss in the other SSA is awful, on the other hand. Just another toe-to-toe slogfest of who's got the most regen. One of the things i really love about the Marshall Blitz fight is it's entertaining and reminiscent of the 'gimmicky' trials, but it is soloable.
Which brings me to my personal hobby horse.
If you're going to look into making content approproately challenging for solo/small team/big teams, why not go the other way and make TFs challenging but doable for soloers too?
Or if that's got the anti-solo crowd spluttering in horror, at least remove the start minimums so that we can decide for ourselves wether or not we want to go for it.
It's about time those minimums disappeared. They don't really fit with the new 'player choice' ethos of the game.

I do all Striga on most of my toons. I like The Striga arcs.

Before, could ypu use it, log out and back in and find it recharged?
If so, this fixes that.

Yeah, lol, I've got loads of these. If you stand on a ledge high up somewhere and rotate your toon so he's standing on áir', then faff with the camera, you can get some great 'Giant man' shots.

Quote:I think this is really two issues that play off each other.
1) People don't communicate in-game like they do here. Lots and lots of other players I see simply refuse to interact at all. The lower levels where you get people looking for DiB and DFB are full of people like this. It varies from people who seem to read and pay attention but don't want to type much, to people who have probably closed their chat box all together.
2) Leeching. I have long since lost count of how many times I kicked someone for going AFK for an entire map+AV of DFB, only to INSTANTLY get a tell asking why they were kicked. Less common but equally detrimental to keeping a good group going are the people who play like suicidal maniacs and then will lay there dead for five minutes asking for wakies when we've moved to the next section or hoping to level up when we finish the entire map and kill the boss. Some people will follow the group or auto-follow someone and not actually fire any powers. I've even had people decline team teleport and say they were 'lost' in DFB lol.
DFB/DiB are not one-shot trials you spend a lot of time on. They are good for doing multiple times and keeping a group together more like a mission team, and they are perfect for people without much time to play who want one GOOD run where they can get the badges, see what it's about, and log off.
I can't count on random players in a newly formed team to participate in a team vote. Call me names, call me an elitist who thinks he's 'better', assume I kick people who don't need to be kicked and call me mean, fine. This is the internet I can take a jab and some exaggeration put on me but the point stands:If I want to run a good group to repeat the trial and go smoothly for random people who join for one run, I have to boot leeches and people who refuse to read, and leeches and people who refuse to read don't participate in vote kicks. Thus I can not start a new PUG by running an open group or joining a random queue.
Until I get up into the 35+ levels I run my own groups or join only people who send me a tell that makes sense first, and I lock my trials because the randumbs℗ are not messing up my game time.
I'm the same. If someone's motionless and silent in a DFB i send them a tell asking them if they're ok, then again after a little while, then i tell them im going to boit them, and if still nothing, I boot. I also boot people who kill Meintz' minions after being given ample clear requests not yo if there's anyone in the team who's expressed that they want the badge.
I understand that some players dont have team chat up, so I use local and broadcast as wellas team for instructions/warnings. I'm quite reasonable, I believe.

Quote:I would be interested to see the reaction to the Phasing tech used to transform DA into a permanently sunny Mob-free zone for every toon that completes the content lol.I felt it was nicely resolved, while leaving various other plot threads that didn't actually have to do with DA lingering for the next issue. Although I imagine most people might feel it's not very resolved when you defeat Mot once and for all, but Dark Astoria is still a nightmarish warzone.

If they gave every trial a contact in the overworld, people would know where to go for trials. You could then tell who was into doing any particular trial by simply broadcasting 'lf BAF' in the relevant zone.
Oh wait.
Lol joking aside, is Pocket D on Freedom dead now, as GG predicted? All the trialers gone to DA?

Statesman isn't dead at all. It was his voice on the tape telling the protagonists to 'play a game', and he's just been lying there immobile for 2 hours with his face in a pool of corn syrup.
Eco -
Statesman isn't responsible for the Camp Crystal killings, it's actually Alexis Cole-Duncan who's been doing them.
Eco
EIT oh wait, that's the wrong family member lol -
Louis Cyphre is actually Statesman.

A careers advice guy from the Army came to our school when I was young, and gave out leaflets etc and talked about how you could learn to be a mechanic or a doctor or whatever in the Army. He was talking about the side of military service involving like building wells in the desert not killing people and driving tanks etc. After his talk, he asked if anyone would consider joining, and one kid said "Yeah, but not because i could learn how to be a mechanic - I want to throw hand grenades at people and shoot a gun."
That kid left school without much in the way of qualifications, and joined the Army. No idea where he is now.

Statesman discovers he has superpowers and then that Paragon City is actually a huge alien constructed discworld floating in space.
Eco -
Statesman is possibly a replicant too, and Gaff knows about it.
Eco -
It's not Norman Bates' crazy mother who's doing the killings, it's Statesman.

I use DFB to leapfrog a few bars if I'd rather get a new power faster, and I never use the LFG. I go to Atlas and broadcast 'lf DFB'. I never wait more than a minute before being invited to a team.
I don't like the LFG tool particularly. It's Forced teaming with strangers, which I don't much care for.
The fact that it's broken just adds to my antipathy to it.

I think it's amusing you're using the new DA to co plain about not feeling Super, when the DA content is IMO the most 'Check me out I'm BADASS!' content the game has ever given us.
The raids are rubbish for that IMO - I just feel like a grunt, nothing special about me personally, the NPCs don't even refer to me specifically.
But DA?
I fight an army. On my own. And then I go it alone against a God, with almost the whole pantheon of other Supers waiting for ME to save the world.
On my own.
Your problem can be avoided by clearing out your old missions by abandoning them, can't they?
Why didn't you finish them when you had them? You left contacts hoping you'd help and just wandered on to another set of villains? Not very hetoic, that, eh?
Sounds like you're doing a good job on your own of lessening the stature of your own toon.

Maybe we can give birth to a meme:
It's Statesman's head in the hatbox.
It's the name of Statesman's sled
Statesman was a ghost all along.
Soylent Green is Statesman!

If the new IP game is Call of Cthulhu or Paranoia, I'm there.

I want a shepards crook for Titan Weapons.

I wish they'd keptthe Talos gate to DA open, with some appropriate alterations such as guards etc. The portal in PI is a bit meh.

Thank you lol. I've been saving that since Beta!
