Quote:It'd have to be clear to the players. If you attach a player note this would be easy enough.Clear to who? The other players? I'll concede that may be difficult to do, what with costume changes at the tailor being available.
The system? Easy-peasy. Add a UUID to each character generated. It's in fact pretty much SOP for any data management scheme to have an identifier column that is not domain-dependent. -

Quote:That's not as hilarious as names though.I have always felt that the devs should 1 time a month, post a list of people that got 3day/perma bans. Not the actual names or anything identifiable, but a list that says:
25 people given 3 day bans for excessive use of profanity ingame
3 people given perma bans for repeat offense
15 accounts banned for RMT activity
That would let people know that yes, they are policing without violating anyones privacy. -
I wonder if they could somehow have tails and capes listed under the same section so tails could be worn with belts.

Quote:mmm mulitexture goodness...That kerfuffle was because the Gladiator shoulder had been in the game forever and was a low-resolution model. Then came the Imperious Strask Force with the unlockable high-resolution gladiator/roman pieces.
Well, there was no Gladiator shoulder piece to be unlocked because it already existed in the game. However, it really didn't 'go' with the hi-rez pieces. So, Jlove or Keetsie re-did the shoulder to be hi-rez so it 'goes' with the other pieces.
However, players have used that shoulder piece for years, and now the hi-rez version sticks out like a sore thumb mixed with other legacy pieces.
And this is why we players need to put up a united front: Rather than lobby for our own personal pieces and peeves, we should all be asking for all costume pieces to be revamped so they all have the same set of textures (such as cloth, shiny cloth, worn metal, polished metal, reflective, matte leather, shiny leather, etc...) in the same resolution. That would do a hundred times more good for the costuming than any new free costume set. -

Quote:Do they sell tickets to the sparring matches to cover travel costs...cause that would be awesome.Yup, same direction as the last one.
No need for public violence these days. MMA schools are a dime a dozen, and most times are more than willing to let members duke it out. If that dosen't work, you can check several web pages (or PM me for a good one) where people regularly schedule travel time, and locations for perfectly legal "sparing" matches.
What I don't understand is the need to hide behind anonymity. Over the years I have had several occasions to disagree with other posters, and had no problems sending them PMs, or just openly disagreeing. Then again, my PMs tend to be somewhat reasonable. Why be shy? There are several people in this thread I disagree with, but at least they are in the open about being a jerk at times, so while I may dislike what they say, I still respect their willingness to say it in the open.
Don't settle it in the parking lot! Settle it IN THE RING! Show your neighbor what you think of him in a one on one amature fight and have the crowd see him GO DOWN! -
Quote:OOO OOOO me me meI just rolled up a religous themed Fire/Fire scrapper and on the first try nabbed the name . . .
Now all I have to do is come up with some philosophical BS to put in his bio.
Joash Kilnsmen always took the fire and brimstone approach to religion. Since his powers have come in he no longer has to use a forcefully descriptive sermon to counter sinners, he just uses force.
(Joash = fire of god ^_^) -
I love how many internet tough guys we have.

Public ban list would be more effective ^_^.

I wonder what the chances are they looked at the people to be banned for comments and went "Ohhh...that's too many..."

If the devs wanted to copy pasta the weapons so they could add auras tot hem one at a time they would started a slow tinkle already.
And yes the weapons could have auras like people IF the Devs went back a recoded the engine. But who wants to dismantle and rebuild a dishwasher to fit in more pots? -
Quote:The majority of us graduated high school so our vocabulary is large enough we only need a thesaurus when have a theme in mind.[sigh] Apparently in order for you to understand, I'll need to reply using your "blowhard mode" (ie write several paragraphs in order to voice an opinion). It's a shame, because I really do have better things to do (like play the game). Here goes...
I really doubt the majority of people desperately want to use a dictionary, thesaurus, and foreign language translator when they create a new character. I really doubt that the majority of people are so happy with the name selection that they'd put up with a clumsy hyphen, period, intentional misspelling, foreign language usage, and less visually attractive system in exchange for the ability to have a good name.
You see, my experience is based upon talking to people both in game and in real life about this. I never assume, as you have, that the majority of our gaming community regularly posts on these forums (or reads them, for that matter). To assume that, as you have, would be very self-centered and bold... don't you agree? (you don't have to answer that, it's rhetorical).
[whew] That was exhausting. Back to my game. "Blowhard mode" off. -
Quote:When the average person hears furry they have no idea what you are talking about.I'm all for more/better animal body parts, it would be a very cool addition to the game.
I'm against associating it with the term furry though.
Regardless of whether it's true or not, when your average person hears the word 'furry' or 'furries', the first thing that jumps into their heads is 'a bunch of pervs who like to dress up in mascot suits to have sex'. It has nothing to do with the furry community, and everything to do with people's perceptions of the furry community. If you don't believe me, do a google image search for the term 'furries'. Half the pictures that come up are either overtly sexual or jokes about furry sex.
And besides, I agree with whoever said it, that 'Call of the Wild' is a much cooler name for the pack. -

Quote:Most people are rarely forced to experience violence unless they live in a particularly violent place. I also see no honor in being too weak to shoulder an ill conceived dressing down.As I've stated before, when the law goes against honor, I'll choose honor every time and the law can eat a bowl of #&$^#.
I will throw this out there: I live by some simple rules. Treat others as they deserve to be treated. Stand up for yourself at all times. When you are constantly prepared for violence, you will find that you rarely are forced to experience it.
There are other rules I follow, but they aren't relevant to this discussion. -
Quote:Or ruined an awesome party. Why would you pick a fight while carrying...guy was mentally undeveloped.I paid my fines and served the 60 days the law required, but that particular twit went to jail for a lot longer than me cuz the cops found drugs on him in an amount large enough to be charged with intent to sell. So by getting into a fight I helped take a drug dealer off the streets. Yay me.

Just so you know physical assault is not a legal form of self defense from verbal and visual assault. You would not be doing the "right" thing in the eye of the law.
But if you want to have assault charges and all the lovely that entails then enjoy.
