I do sympathise though. I'm concerned about the boss increase too...but lets see how it works out. My guess is that in a few weeks we'll see a small decrease in bosses at the 25-35 level and prolly a couple other "fixes" to other I3 issues as well.

If that's the scale and timing of the response then it'll be too little and too late for me. -

So uh, what AT is the OP again? If you're any of the ATs that weren't designmed specifically for soloing (Defender, Controller, and to some extent, Blaster), then you're meant to have trouble, even find it near-impossible to beat an even boss.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except for the fact that Statesman has said that ALL ATs should be able to solo, that's almost a good point.
Yes, there will be a difference in difficulty, but the difference between possible and impossible is one that I personally consider to be a "show stopper".
[ QUOTE ]
Even Tanks and Scrapper should find them a challenge. That's the point of the "Boss" class.
[/ QUOTE ]
[sarcasm]
You have no idea what a comfort it is for me to know that my enjoyment of the game has been sacrificed so that some scrapper can feel "challenged".
[/sarcasm]
If they want more difficulty they should use the difficulty slider. That's what it was DESIGNED TO DO. Why nerf all of the rest of us? -

THere are usually 2 or more bosses per mob. In the Respec Tf, there are many, MANY bosses. WIth the hp + dmg buffs given to bosses, those will be extremely difficult.
[/ QUOTE ]
I tried one last night. "Extremely difficult" is an understatement.
The thing that really sticks in my throat about all of this is that while I know I'm going to be accused of "whining", pre-I3 I was having a lot of fun with this game, and it really saddens me to see it become an exclusive playground for power gamers. The additional $15/month I'm liable to have in my pocket isn't a sufficient compensation to make up for the time and emotion I had invested in a product that's beginning to look as though it's being deliberately killed by its own creators.

And where's the logic in making a difficulty slider, then upping the general difficulty? The people who want it harder can turn the mission diff up, the people who don't want it harder don't touch the slider.
What's wrong with that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Good question. And one that deserves an answer. -

He did not say acceptable. He said inevitable. Those are two very different things. What he means is no matter how much testing you do, there will always be some bugs that slip though. It's just a fact of programming.
[/ QUOTE ]
Some of the bugs we're talking about here (loss of sound from glowies being a prime example) did not "slip through". They were known about for literally weeks in advance. And the update was pushed out with them anyway.
There's a difference between "gotchas" in which undetected bugs show up, and rolling out a shoddy product with KNOWN bugs. -

Speaking of the boss changes, what will this mean for the respec trial? With a team of 5 or so, there are tons of bosses in the reactor, with the bosses dmg/HP 50% increase, won't the respec become extremely hard again?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been wondering that same thing. I've participated in about 2 dozen TV trials now so I may be in a position to form an admittedly-subjective opinion about what this does to that set of missions. In my view the thing was already way too hard considering that it's typically being done by people who are gimped in one way or another. If the skiffs and jump bots now have 50% more HPs that might just be the kiss of death.
I've also been wondering about those glowies that were silent for weeks on the test server. If that's the new intended behavior then I could envision it being enough to severely irritate me.
I want a chance to play the new release a couple days before I make up my mind, but at this point I admit I'm apprehensive. -
This term came up in a discussion I had a couple of days ago as an alternate way of describing the Paragon City mindset. Even most of the female characters running around seem to be consumed with it.
When "busting heads" is the only thing the game rewards, is that really the sort of message we want young players to come away from the game with? -

It is OK, Kazarak. Miss A's opinion of me truly does not matter. Besides... I have been called far worse by far better people. LOL

As a general rule I avoid filtering, but for what it's worth I just took the time to figure out how to ignore a user on this forum.
I feel much better already. In fact, far from feeling "cowardly", I am actually congratulating myself on having the wisdom to figure out that nothing this person says will interest me ever again.
Ignore works, people. Feel the power. -

I cannot stress enough - the +1 mobs everywhere are a BUG. We did NOT notice them on the Training Room server. It happens. I made a mistake. We're fixing it (though it isn't live yet).

When he was on faculty at Georgetown University Henry Kissinger was reported to have said that "Academic politics is the most vicious form of all politics precisely because the stakes are so low." I guess some of the folks who are getting beat up in the low levels are taking it worse than others.
For myself, I appreciate that the Dev team is making the fix a high priority, and I appreciate that there's someone here like yourself to explain what's going on. Please don't allow this chorus of abuse to get you down. CoH became what it is by listening to what people want, and delivering it in a form that pleases most people (even if it doesn't seem to work out for everybody).
Hang in there, guy.
