I've been kind of doing that. I level rapidly through teaming (a mix of dfbs, teams, task forces, the sometimes PL if a friend is doing that and I tag along) and then I go back and do the stuff I missed that I want my character to have 'experienced' or just storylines I enjoy.
Right now I'm trying to 'black out' all the ouro arcs on my very first character. She's doing really well, but oh my god, ouroing harvey maylor's hunt fifty carnies TWICE when you can't just run a paper was one of my stupider plans. -
I decided since it was the last tweet code thursday I was gonna participate! Get me some kirby dots!
Unfortunately I was busy, but I was in luck, they weren't done yet, they were only on batch seventeen! So I sat and waited for batch eighteen. They posted! Only they just included the link to yfrog.
Okay, I said. Well, mistakes happen. Surely they'll correct it soon.
A half hour later, they announce batch 19 is up and it's... a picture of a guy in costume, they didn't put codes there either. Or acknowledged the last one didn't work.
This... this isn't how it's supposed to go, right? -

I keep hoping we'll end up with a new torso model for women, with a chest that actually looks like it's wearing tights and not body paint.

Damn, this looks real nice.

Quote:Wait, is Nowhere Woman a he or a she 'cause you switched halfway through. My very first character (Nowhere Woman, energy/energy blaster) explained that as an entity from outside time, created out of pure mathematics and inserted into the timestream by the (**redacted for copyright purposes, but it was totally the Time Lords**), she was capable of perceiving that Paragon City (and later the Rogue Isles) was the center of a massive temporal anomaly. Time was disjointed, and individuals' timestreams were running in loose parallel instead of properly synchronized.
Those five muggers that a superhero just ran past as if they didn't matter? To you, they're a real threat, but to him, they're mere echoes of a long-forgotten past. They don't see him, he doesn't care about them...although he could disperse them with a single punch, if he wanted. Exemplaring and sidekicking were just more examples of this temporal weirdness.
It's an explanation that's served me well over the years. -
Quote:Oh! And like the DiB! Yeah, I can see that working out pretty well and being cool.Well here's how I'd do it as an instanced mission. Make a new map that has a bunch of small areas based on each of the city areas that you visit and contains a 2-3 spawns of the appropriate enemy types with a named boss (scaled up to level 40 for the groups that do go that high). You kill the spawns and then click on a Longbow Helicopter (or something) to get transported to the next section of the mission. Eventually you exit the mission in Eden. Basically keep the theme of traveling about the city fighting different groups but eliminate the running about and make it so that the enemies aren't all horribly under-level.
So it's all one mission with lots of different map sections (sort of like the second mission in Admiral Sutter or Apex). -
Quote:Am intrigued by the instanced idea and how that would be done.I still don't see the reason to complain about Synapse. Still gets zipped through and it's - well, just not all that hard.
I can kind of get complaining about Numina - mostly due to all the different things we have now that can kick off zone events and screw over the line of hunts. I think we're at the point where that needs to just be instanced. But synapse - eh. I don't think it's all that bad.
Also, I like Synapse. It keeps me busy and off the streets. -

Oh, this is cool! Thanks for making this!

Quote:I'd like mechanical monster heads! That'd be so cool.Well, no, but that's cheating a bit since each animal head is its own separate category. They don't really have "options" beyond that. We also don't have mechanical hoods, come to think of it, and now I'm thinking that might not be a bad idea.
Still, I think mechanical tails are about as long time coming as non-mechanical arms for Robotic Arms. Seriously, what do I have to do to get Foreshadows arms?
Although a mech-lion head would turn into the weirdest narnia homage in my mittens.
I'd like other different types of arms too! Like, maybe huge arms? Or skeleton arms? Or feathered arms! -
Quote:Def want Asian style dragon heads. I've been making do with the lion head so far.I think Dragon Heads and other Dragon Related costume options should be in a seprate pack then the suggestion Halloween one. Maybe a medieval fantasy pack? Or simply a Dragon pack all it's own with both European and Asain style Dragon pieces.

heck, my account got banned here in COH once for RMT people getting on it and I got unbanned when I sent in a panicked email. I've been really grateful they listened to me and been super careful with my account since. The support staff's always been good to me.

I had Hidden Depths for ages and ages as an energy blaster pretending to be a water blaster, so I just rerolled her.
I also discovered 'Seacow' wasn't taken, so now I have a big blue minotaur.
I also have 'Flower Grrl' for a nature/water def. -
Quote:Jukebox Jamwhammer is an AWESOME name. That is just epic cool.
Thanks! I was trying to think of a Resistance-sounding name for someone with good psionic shields.
Quote:I wanted to add that I'm getting a lot of mileage out of a water/storm corrupter right now. I'm blazing through Praetoria at a decent clip.
I've been running at +0/X2 and it was kind of leisurely until I hit 12 and the mob placement generator decided that X2 MUST be X3. Still, I splurged on insps and I'm maybe an hour from knocking on Paragon City's door.
Dehydrate saves my bacon...alot. -
You know those ribbons/bows some of the Carnies have around their chests that's a separate colour from their top? I'd like that as a chest item!

Quote:Thank you (and everyone else!) very much for the advice! Here's what I ended up running with:Each alignment faces just slightly different mobs more frequently, at least from what it strikes me. Everyone will fight all of the groups (including your own faction) at some point or other. My personal observations over the full arcs, especially the Imperial City arcs (thought don't take me as an expert):
Responsibility seem to fight more broken Clockwork. That should make getting something with energy resistance a priority.
Power seem to go through a lot of Destroyers. Look at getting some knockback protection.
Wardens seem to fight more Syndicate. Try to fit in some psionic defense to get around their bosses.
Crusader seem to fight more PDD (no surprise). Getting some ranged defense, while great as a whole in Prae, is going to be a touch higher.
Responsibility: Amped Up SJ/ELEC brute
Power: Technophilia BS/WP brute
Warden: Jukebox Jamwhammer DB/WP stalker
Crusader: Stutter Sue SJ/Shield brute

And were, say, planning to do it on four different characters to do all the storylines, what would you suggest as being best suited for Praetorian mob damage that aren't all the same?
Actually, since I know the missions are different, if there's a particular mob slant per crusader/warden/power/uhhh the other one, specific suggestions towards that would be great and appreciated!
Oh, and I'm not very good with controllers.
I've been semi-through the arcs so far, but always end up doing someone else's missions or levelling by too fast, so I'm looking forward to just sitting down and trying, like I've been doing on my hero scrapper of doing every single hero storyline through ouro on her.
I remember liking the Power arc where I got to show Reese exactly what I thought of him, plus my posse. Loved my posse.
How many of you guys have done that? Just sat down and methodically went through every piece of story? -
You know, your post actually comes off as very selfish.
