Man, now I'm actually excited about what's gonna come up at the Pummit.

I think my characters will be rocking in a corner from PTSD flashbacks on the anniversary.

I'd like to see what I could do to have official game comics done again, even if it involved making my own comic company and begging. (for non-game stuff, probably open a hobby bookstore, donate to various charities, like stopping human trafficking, violence against women, etc, get my sister the best possible treatment for her back, same with my grandma for her lungs, get a house with a lego room, dangit, and a playmobil room for good measure, and set up some scholarships. I'm in university right now and it was horrifying hearing how a fellow student might have to drop out completely because her loans got messed up and there'd be no way for her to continue to attend)

Quote:I suspect you may just be cranky. He said in a joking manner.I've been very vocal of how depressing I find recent City of Heroes content, largely because of how serious it takes itself. At the same time, I've been even more vocal about how unamusing I find City of Heroes' attempts at forced humour, most recently having gone Scrooge on that one lampshade, as well as Dillo... Again.

I really enjoy making my concepts work with the lore, and a lot of my stuff has been created because something in the game itself inspired me.
However, I do choose to ignore the 'no mutants before the split atom' crap.
On the subject of stores and trainers, depending on the character the trainer visit is usually just a check up about security level in my head. I do like the idea of shopping, especially with robotic characters. -
I use globals! One channel for all my characters, and depending on the server the character may get some others. Like I have the virtue tf channels, the freedom badge channels, and sometimes the pinnacle badge channel if I'm in the mood for the extra chatter.

Quote:omg omg omg omgI think you underestimate our desire to expand the game in more creative ways.
Counter question:
Let's say, hypothetically, we introduced a new AT, but because of the amount of time and cost it would take to develop it, we had no choice but to offer it in the Paragon Market (a possible scenario).
Based on our established precedents, what do you feel would be a fair price, in Paragon Points?
I'm interested in your responses.
Um. I agree with Golden Girl. I'd happily pay 1200 for a new AT. -

The EATs are interesting. Kheldians can more or less switch from blaster to tank. It might be interesting to have something, and maybe this is what GG had in mind, where you transform between many archetypes. One powerset for such an AT might be Animals. When you're in rhinoceros form, you're basically a tank. Tiger form would be more like a brute. Wolverine or honey badger could be a scrapper form. The black panther form would be like a stalker. Another powerset for the same AT could be Mecha. It would be basically the same, with transforming into the same melee archetypes, except the Mecha forms would simulate different powersets. For example, the Animal/Tiger form is similar to a claws/sr brute, while the Mecha/Killbot form is more like an energy melee/energy armor brute. Another powerset would be Elemental. The Fire form would be like a fire/fire scrapper, while the earth form would be a stone/stone brute, and the water form an ice/ice tank, and the air form would be like some kind of stalker. Different visually of course, but similar powers.
The more I think about it, the more I like it. -
Quote:See, this storyline stuff is interesting, but I just never get it when running a trial because of all the chaos.Hitting the military facility at Lambda Sector weakens the loyalist forces eniough to let us operate more freely in Paretoria, adn opens the way for the following Trials, inlcuding the Keyes Island Trial, where we capture the reactors to prevent the loyalists from having a power source for their invasion portals.
Both of those are very important to the Incarnate storyline - discovering Tyrant's secret and exposing the lies of the loyalists to the people are major plot points.
I wish there were player arc versions of the trials for this exact reason. -

Quote:Flicka! No! You monster, she was already dead!In my opinion, the devs apparent views on Tanker design is pretty crappy.
They let Brutes share the same survivability caps as them, but Tanker damage caps have to be way lower. Solo, Scrapper and Brute survivability is plenty adequate, enough that they're the best soloing ATs in the game, that's a fact, yet Tankers are punished with less damage for having more survivability than that, even when it's superfluous. On teams, the devs let defensive buffs and heals get handed out like candy to Scrappers and Brutes, and on top of that they get the heat taken off of them by Tankers. The result: they see very little downside, solo or teamed, to not being as tough out of the box as Tankers.
If that wasn't enough, add some IOs so Scrappers and Brutes can softcap their defense and while we're at it, Barrier, Rebirth and level shifts. So Brutes and Scrappers get tougher and tougher relative to all enemies in the game, don't really give up any damage for it, and keep the same damage advantage relative to Tankers. So, when it comes to the melee ATs, really only Tankers have to trade damage for their survival. I don't find that fair, and if the devs do, that only supports my assertion that they threw Tankers under the bus years ago. -
I tried doing this as a thought experiment and rapidly realized why I wasn't a game developer, because all I could come up with was Melee/Buffer and Ranged/Shields.
What sort of ATs and mechanics can you think of that could actually be done with the game engines? (so, say, no stretching) -

Quote:Beast Mastery was locked for a little bit on beta, I think. Or was it? I know Darkness Mastery was for a bit. It's unlocked now, though. I dipped on there... thursday? To nab my beast master's costume for live. But trying things on Beta really is a great plan. Everything's free and it lets you know if you're gonna hate or love something.I feel like I'm trying them less than I normally would try a new powerset; especially since I rolled a Beast MM on beta, and when I went back to have a look at her to see if I wanted to purchase the set, I was locked out of the character. Really....? Seriously....?! Lawl.
Even less inclined since I was talked into trying Titan Weapons by someone else, purchased it and hated it. Tried Beam Rifle on my other account - had a ton of free points - and hated that. Were Beast Mastery at least available for trial on my main account, I'd give it a whirl till at least level 10, but I can't so no big loss. -
Hum, has anyone mentioned the Crey agent earpieces yet? And making sure they're usable with sunglasses?
