Oh, dude, that looks so good I think I just pooped a little.

... which was, of course the name of our team

    [/ QUOTE ]

Next time *I* get to name the team.

/respecs are a dangling-carrot that keeps long-time Players playing their old-borked characters which are messed up from improper builds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't get it. How do people burn through three earned Respecs and all their free ones?

I've never done a Respec on most of my characters. My Controller just hit 43 and hasn't done a single one, free or otherwise. I've used several free respecs on characters that were impacted by the changes in certain issues. (I'm looking at you, ED!) I've only used one earned Respec on one character.

I can see how sometimes you could Respec into something bad and need to Respec again to fix it, but hey, that's what the test server is for. How are people breaking things so badly they need to Respec this often? Is it a Min/Max thing? Maybe that's why I don't care about them. I don't pay enough attention to the numbers to know if I'm "borked."
  3. Yay! I really like the way you have X9 up there bashing on his head. Very nice!
  4. My company just started blocking photobucket. I can only see 4* avatars in this entire thread. I'll have to check them all out when I get home.

*5 now! I can see my own.
  5. Ah, Yardleblarp. I DO love his name. I came across him very early on and just thought that was outrageously funny. Very Douglas Adams. Anyway, I thought his name was so great, I added him to my friends list. I didn't speak to him again for something like a year and then I saw him talking in TA chat and we hung out on a roof somewhere with Amrien. I told him that his name was still on my friends list because, even though I had never teamed with him or even spoken to him after that first encounter, I just couldn't bear the thought of deleteing such a cool name. And it is my villain's battlecry.

It's still on my list, too.

    Yardleblarp!

Unknown Mod: Whoever added me to Team Awesome and left me there for over a year.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I added you, ya fool. And you know how TA is. We were all too lazy to go around deleting people who don't show up.
  7. Thanks for doing this, Greymist. It's very cool and I'm excited to see the rest. Thanks also for posting WIP pictures. I love seeing how artists take pieces from beginning to end.
  8. Oh no! I'm terribly sorry for both of you. I know when I lose my writing that way, it haunts me. Even after I rewrite it, I'm always certain that I had one brilliant sentence, a perfect moment of clarity, that I was never able to replicate in the second version.

I just chant over and over, "Computers make our lives eaier. Computers make our lives easier."

It was looking wonderful so far, Graver. I can't wait to see the finished version.

Some of your work is sooo much better than some of your other work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't find it a stretch to believe at all. It's very common for artists to work in more than one medium or style and for them to excel more at some than others. Some specialize, but others are more experimental. My mother is an artist and has used pastels, colored pencils, charcoal, oils, acrylics, and watercolors. She has spent the last decade working with Japanese brush painting and gave up oils when I was still a kid. She still paints in acrylics and does folk art. There is absolutely no similarity between her Bavarian or American folk art and her Japanese watercolors. You would have no way of knowing the same artist did both.

Just because you're an artist - trained or otherwise - doesn't mean you're equally good in all formats. Working in a new medium/style will give you different results than one you're familiar and comfortable with.

Sadly, Mom is no good at portraits or I'd have hit her one for one of my characters a long time ago.

    FAULTLINE!

    [ QUOTE ]
Well the one "we never play" is only one of two zones, Faultline or Boomtown.

Atleast Boomtown has Babbage spawns for badge w/o having to do Synapse trial...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Contacts sometimes send me to Boomtown for a door mission. In the over 2+ years I've played, I've never been sent to a door mission in Faultline.

    Has anyone else?
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    That's just beautiful.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. TA has so many amazing pieces in his collection, but I think this one is my new favorite. I love the softness of the colors and the striking pose. Someone here described watercolor as a memory, which I think was perfect in general and also fit the pose in this piece.

    Just fantastic.

Anyone ever wonder what it would be like if you were on a team with a dev?

Look for the guy, speaking complete proper English, in a comic-book-esque outfit, with an interesting bio, who happens to know EXACTLY what to do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That describes half the people I play with, some of whom I've met in person and I know they're not Devs.

If you want to see if a certain graphics designer really is sexy, a little Google-fu will answer that question.

I don't need proof. I have faith that Jay is Sexy.
  14. "yeah, feel that."

That was fantastic. Your voice talent was amazing, too.

We've got a nice tweak to the Domination ability coming down the pipe (it will crank up your Mez resistance while it is active),

    [/ QUOTE ]

SUCH good news. I hate it when I pop Domination and then get held for a very long time. Resistance would be nice.

And Yay for you playing on Justice.

    One.
    Two.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I love the first one. It made me say "Wow," out loud. It's very heroic and reminds me of the Batman crouching on his gargoyle and watching over Gotham.

I like the second one with the opposite shots, also.

Don't know about hoovermatics...at hami raids the grav folks are kinda turning into litterbugs. They are leaving forklifts and televisions and garbage scattered all over the hive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's funny, since the DE are always complaining about the humans ruining the earth. Now the humans come in, destroy their king, AND leave trash all over.
  18. Congratulations to all of you. Looks like the floodgates are open and the 50's are pouring throuh.

What didnt they bugger up after releasing I7?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The "Log Out Now" button.
It still works (sometimes even when you don't want it to).

    [/ QUOTE ]

When I click that the game freezes and I have to physically push the button on my computer to get it to shut off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Me too.

But my name was unchanged and isn't buggy.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Shouldnt matter if this is a holiday or not....I7 has been long in the making and theyve been putting this off for way to long. They need to get in gear and get it on LIVE ASAP. Some of us are tired of waiting and others are trying to make their vacation times around it and cant when they keep putting it off. Come on guys....lets get it moving already.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, I'm so glad you told them to hurry it up. I heard that the Devs were sitting around eating Cheetos, trying to see who could burp the alphabet the best, telling The Aristocrats joke over and over again, and poking Stateman and Positron in the eye whenever they asked for a status report. But I'm sure now they'll get back to work and get I7 out ASAP. Thanks!

It seems even more of a lost art in CoV.

Actually, It seems any form of tactics is less common in CoV!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    QFE!

But it's happening a lot in CoH, too. (Maybe all the CoV players who got to 40 are in Paragon now.) Recently I've been on several teams where I've suggested pulling in a room filled with large mobs, only to see a Melee person run in and start things up. Even when many of the people on the team were low on health of end.

The only tactic has become "run in and kill stuff as fast as you can... meet you in the hospital."
  22. The demons that spawn from the Orenbaga portals used to be worth XP. It was common for people to get a portal mission and form 8 man teams and stay in the mission for hours, rotating team members. The teams would stand on a slope, send in a tank to aggro the portal, and go to town on the demons. Magic origin heroes would also get great SO drops.

If you could stand the mind-numbing boredom, which I couldn't.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
The other reason was because of the way Storm Kick actually worked. Originally, Storm Kick was a 4-hit DoT. The problem was that the system couldn't be set to check ToHit's for each individual strike (Or "Kick"). So Storm Kick was either an all or nothing attack. You either did all four hits of damage, or you missed every single one.

Suffice to say, being rooted in place for a two to three minute animation when you missed was NOT very fun. So they changed the animation AND the way Storm Kick itself worked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shadow Maul, anyone? Missing with Shadow Maul is the most humiliating experience. You stand there and punch air for many many seconds and do no damage at all.
