Power Girl's story was one of the things I greatly enjoyed going into the 52 series. After Crisis on Infinite Earths way back when, Power Girl never quite fit in. There were retcons on her origin, but they didn't really make sense. Then finally Supergirl showed up, and Power Girls' origins started shifting wildly. It turns out that time was trying to fit her in, and it wasn't working. And after Infinite Crisis, time stopped trying.

Now after Infinite Crisis, Power Girl is just about the only character in DC whose origin hasn't been retconned. (Or you could say that she's been retconned back into a non-retconned state.) She's from the pre-CoIE Earth 2, which no longer exists. And yes, she's a parallel version of Supergirl.

Would you count what shows up on a comic book shop's shelves (where Marvel and DC have an significant edge most of the time), or what you could buy from Amazon, or some combination of the two?
People around here should keep in mind that the manga that comes out in the US is a tiny fraction of what comes out in Japan. And although I am a big manga fan, I'll say that there is a large amount of junk in the mix. The more awful stuff generally doesn't see international distribution. The ratio of good stuff to bad stuff is probably pretty comparable to US comics. But there's much more variety, since individual creators have much more independence.

Also, one should keep in mind that the variety in manga is immense. Manga has genres that US companies wouldn't think of producing these days, such as playing sports. And cooking. And playing boardgames.

The ambushes in that mission are ludicrous. I got 12 or 13, with something like 4 second spacing when I did that one. Never again, it gets deleted whenever I get it again.
The Vigilante version of that mission isn't so bad. But yes, the Hero version is ludicrous.

My melee characters have a great time against the KoA. In fact, the fights might be a bit too easy, but they're a breather between tougher factions. Caltrops? What caltrops? Oh, that's right, they don't use them on me when I'm hovering just over their heads.

The Spectral Daemon Lords can be nasty in the lower levels. Destroyer leaders seem to be nasty so far too, with their status effect protection and hard-hitting attacks. Later on, Vanguard can be tricky for my melee characters, while Malta can be tricky for my squishier characters (due to all their long-lasting status effect attacks).
  6. Oh no! Dollymistress got flattened by Adamastor and a pack of Nightmares! I think they were attracted to her crazy outfit. But she got better.

Fortunately my character was a tanker. It's not often that one of my tankers has an opportunity to, you know, do tanker stuff.

  8. I'd generally prefer Option 2, since changing textures can indeed change the aesthetics. But that would make clutter bad too. Pushing the old options into a legacy tab would be good.

That shouldn't be necessary. I think the canon civil wars within each country would be far worse.

  11. Obviously I'm very much the wrong person to ask on this topic. My advice is: stop by your local large book store if you have one, head to the manga section, and check out Claymore. Yes, it's not in color, but check it out and try to tell me that the art and story is weak. You can find some dumb stuff in the manga section, and you can find some brilliant stuff, just like American comics.

As far as anime goes, I'm obviously biased.

But Teldon also set up the general guideline that we should vote for which one most makes us want to watch again, not which one was more awesomely bad or even bad at all.

67 slots to add. I'm not counting the base slot of each power.

It must be a perception thing. I have 67 slots to add now, and I'll have 67 slots to add when I19 goes live. I put the slots where I think they'll do the most good, knowing that I'm not going to be able to fill up every power with the maximum useful slots. As far as I'm concerned, placing the slots won't be any tighter or looser than it is now, and I'll have more options to work with.
  18. I've accepted the idea that my Praetorians will be murderous villains no matter which path I take. Some will continue being villains in the Rogue Isles, and some will reform to become heroes in Paragon City.

Well, I deny it, but I seem to have a different definition of a "tight build". For me, opening up three power slots loosens my builds up, and allows me to fit in powers I couldn't quite squeeze in before. This variation of "tight" that you're using confuzzles me greatly.

oh idk maybe having dual builds and lots of changes in this issues patch notes? or dont you pay attention to those and don't know what they are talking about either?
Oh, those numbers are looking pretty good then. I've heard how easy it was to make merits fast and buy uber stuff, so it's refreshing to hear somebody complain about the system.

And... well... enjoy all of your I19 respeccing.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I get the impression that you're way way too obsessed about respecs. Why are you changing builds so much?

Oooh, that will be nice. I could slip in something like Sunless Mire for my Warshade, which is currently not a high enough priority. In my case it would be a situational power, but it could come in handy now and then.

People would still feel obligated to take and three-slot Stamina as soon as possible. Then they could take endurance reduction enhancements out of their powers. It was quite normal to six-slot Stamina earlier in the game, after all.
