We're back, officially. DJ Jester is still in charge of the site & the station. He's asked me to tackle the day-to-day programming operations of the station.
We're looking to swell our DJ ranks a bit, and we've got a new show running 8am-6pm eastern every day that's getting a lot of attention! Otto's still there, we've got interesting shows and we're looking for more! -

And yet... this is the same server that pulled off what I hear was an absolutely amazing, and successful, redside Hami raid last night.
Yup, definitely desolation in abundance... oh... wait... -
Tonight on the School of Rock: We stage our own Les Paul tribute, we talk Oscars & Razzies, and play some kick-*** rock and roll!
Join us tonight, Wednesday, from 7-10 p.m. eastern, on w00t Radio for the School of Rock! Listen online at http://w00tradio.net/ or http://www.theschoolofrock.org/ ! -
Quote:Fixed that for you.I don't know about all of you but as each passing day goes by I get alittle more excited about the future of our game. Each issue that we have gotten has added little bits to the puzzle, which I feel have gone along way to making our game superior to some of the other MMO's out there. (we may be smaller, but we've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty.)
-
Just a reminder: Tonight (Jan 27) from 7-10 p.m. eastern is the premiere of the full School of Rock program. Join my co-hosts and I for three hours of the best classic rock you'll find anywhere, broadcast live on w00t Radio!

Quote:The final Jester's Court is up on the page now. Jester's decided to call it quits as far as the Court's concerned, but he's currently working on a new project. If you pester him, he might tell you what it is... come to think of it, *I* need to pester him enough so he'll tell ME...But where the @#!&#* is the Jester's Court!?!?
What there's been no gaming news since November?
Seriously though get on Jester's case. I miss those podcasts. -

We're here to provide the CoH/V population with a better soundtrack to your gameplay, because we play too! Every day from 8am to 6pm eastern, you'll get the Theatre of the Mind - TV & Movie soundtracks and scores. Over 7,000 tracks from over 650 different programs and films, and they're all requestable from the website!
When the Theatre is close, Otto Plair, the mad German, runs you through the gamut of the wide world of gaming music. He also takes requests from the website, and will play whatever you like (although he does reserve the right to grumble about it).
And starting Wednesday, January 27th at 7pm eastern - It's the return of The School of Rock! Quality rock-and-roll from the late 50s to the early 90s, with your hosts The Professor, the Madman, and Papa Trey!
Finally, if you'd like to join w00t Radio, we have a limited number of openings for DJs at the moment, and are taking applications. Send a PM to Mindscythe if you're interested.
So give us a listen! w00t Radio - Music for gamers, by gamers! http://w00tradio.net/ -
Congrats to everyone, but special congrats to War Witch for assuming command of the good ship Paragon!
I'm really excited about the "content" word being used so much... I know that the wandering members of the crew I'm a part of on Pinnacle will come streaming back in if there's new content, and that will make me as happy as a pig in sh... uh... it'll make me really happy. -
Like Steelclaw, many of my characters come from offline first, so they're already "alive" in my head.
But the one that really came to life that originated in-game is my Bots/FF MM, VPAH-0. I had a vague idea in mind of who he was and how he came to be, but he was a magic-origin robot, and I hadn't reconciled how that worked yet. At some point I did my first Crey mission, and started thinking about Crey as a company what they did, etc, and boom: VPAH-0 had his backstory.
The V.P.A.H project (Verne Prototype Artificial Humanoid) was a Crey attempt to beat Nemesis at his own game, by incorporating steampunk tech with modern tech to create new bio-organic mechanoids. Unfortunately, they couldn't figure out a power-source, and ended up turning to a recently acquired (and little understood) magical artifact. After installing it, the unit failed to function to their expectations, and the initial model was junked. The magical artifact, however, had an expected side-effect and it bestowed consciousness on the 0-unit, who came to awareness with one overriding desire: To destroy those who had tried to destroy it.
From that point on, I took every Crey-based mission I could get. I'm currently leveling VPAH-5, the first mechanoid VPAH-0 successfully created as help in his war against Crey. -
I completely overlooked this one.
From "The Movie Hero"
Blake: "Thou movie, which art on screen, hallowed by thy name. Thy time is come, thy will be shown, in theatre as well as home. Give us this day our daily film, and forgive our bad choices, as we forgive those whose movies were so bad to choose. And lead us not into television but deliver us from that evil, for movies are the picture, and the sound, and greatest thing in the whole wide world forever and ever. Movies rule."
I start my show, Theatre of the Mind (see my sig) with it every day too, so I feel kinda dumb to have spaced it. Hell, I recite it along with the show open like a mantra. -
One of the best-run raids I've been on in years (literally). Congrats to Kid & Ici for a great raid!

Now I know why I stopped attempting videos... the talent gap is simply too large to be overcome, and just KEEPS.... GETTING.... LARGER!
Nicely done! I love the classic musical number tied to the CoX celebs, it had me tapping my feet and singing along this morning. -
Quote:The second comma was added due to the infusion of raw logic (as in mathematics) into language.Incidentally, you've correctly omitted the serial comma in the thread title. The word "and" acts as a delimiter and an additional comma would have been obnoxiously redundant.
"Spelling, punctuation and grammar!" is analogous to "a, (b + c)" since it denotes "spelling" singularly, but groups "punctuation and grammar" together.
"Spelling, punctuation, and grammar!" is analogous to "a, b, c" since it denotes each word singularly, but suggests they are all related somehow.
So, it comes down to how you intend the sentence to read. If you want to say it's "spelling," and then "punctuation and grammar" as a grouped pair of concepts, the single comma is correct. If you want each element in the sentence to have equal weight, then the second comma is needed to show that they are all separate, yet related, elements.
I've said too much, haven't I? I'll... just be over here, erasing the chalkboard. -
CoH/V is still my primary, but when I need a break, I'm playing Dungeons & Dragons Online for an alternate MMO fix, and re-playing Neverwinter Nights if I truly feel the need to solo.

Quote:Here's to both of those sentiments! My wife and I had to scrap our Christmas Eve plans and bolt downstate half a day earlier than we'd planned to try to avoid the ice storm, which we ended up driving through anyway. But we got here (eventually) after much sliding and swearing.I'm grateful not to be dead.
Merry Christmas everyone. Be safe, be warm, be happy.
The sausage cheese-balls sound interesting... could I interest you in a recipe swap? I can offer my Father's sausage dip in exchange... (seeing a pattern here in the meat preferences for these recipes already too!).

Brian Setzer Orchestra holiday music always finds its way into my playlists, as does Bob Rivers and Mannheim Steamroller.
But it's just not festive without the classic that is Santa Claus and His Old Lady by Cheech & Chong! (Yes, I too am that old.)

I'm planning on moving some characters TO Protector (from Pinnacle) so that I can have more options when I play here.
It'd be nice to be able to TF with folks here (my highest here atm is a L30-something scrapper).
-
Protector's always been my "other" server, so I'm considering moving a few 50s over there, but I haven't made up my mind for sure yet. I do know that I'm running dangerously low on slots here, so from that perspective it makes sense.
Also, Jello Shooters > PinnBadges. I'm just sayin'. -
You know..
*taps chin thoughtfully*
If the devs really hated villains, the next update would be called "City of Heroes: Redemption" and only allow villains to "see the error of their ways" and become heroes.
Just a random thought during the last week of classes (English translation: When my brain is a bubbling mass of goo). -
And I notice that we're the only super-hero MMO mentioned on the list, so anyone interested in that genre is going to see us and no one else.
They say that any publicity is good publicity, but actual good publicity has to rank somewhere a bit higher up on that scale. -
Quote:Want! Any links to where they're sold?

I'm thinking that, since I live in Michigan and Ann Arbor's my old stomping grounds, I may have to drive down for this. Consider me officially considering it.
