It's =my= game. People say so all the time.

Girlfriend: Off to play your game now?

Friend: What'd you do in your game last night?

Co-worker: You're always talking about your game when I'm trying to work!

Boss: You wouldn't be in here if you did your work and didn't talk about your game all day.

  2. I managed to control the drool. But then again, once you meet Vixen, all the movie stars seem so drab...

But Ms. Fox IS quite foxy. That over-shadows the fact that she can act. But, What I want to know is the name of the young lady who attacks Shai at the dorm!
Speaking of Mr. Le Boof, as he grows up he is less annoying. His acting is getting better with each movie. He could be a great leading man some day. But hey, this is not a "acting" movie, it is an action movie and ... wowee.

    (Small spoiler warning)
I pay pretty close attention to details on military themed action. Not bad. I liked the sequence where the Marines delivered the M1s aboard hovercraft. Oorah. It was a bit hard to watch the Navy get crushed like that, but it made for a great sequence.

The part where the President's Liason is standing on the tailgate of the C-17 was hysterical. As the dialog un-folded, my son told me afterward that I raised my hand and said, "No! Don't!" as the Suit touched his handle and the the soldier said, "Pull the blue... Not NOW!" I think the whole theatre cheered. I did not recall saying it. I saw something similar happen to a Jumpmaster once on a C-130. Woosh! Talk about embarrassing!

When the Nest team follows Optimus out on the drop, look for the big dopey grin on the lead jumpers face. Tail-gate jumps FTW! Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Just found this link, I15 Patch Notes checked it out and guess what my fellow villains? The hero heavy hold issue is NOT being addressed!
Wow! What a surprise! I'm gonna try and hang on a while longer, but if the Dev's keep picking on us and or ignoring our issues..I aint gonna fight it! I'm just gonna bail! I'm getting so frustrated! it's sick!

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I may, I gently recommend this.

It feels good to vent and be validated in anger. Untill you have found happiness inside, happiness outside will always be elusive. If i ever win the lottery i will buy thousands of these books and give one to each unhappy person I meet.

We're sitting in a meeting and our Development Director said "We've contracted some Type R programmers".

I had never heard this term before, so I jotted it down on my notepad, so I could inquire about it later.

Just then our Lead Engineer asks "What is Type R?"

Our Dev Director looked stumped. "What do you mean?"

"You said 'Type R Programmers'" said the Lead Engineer.

"No, I said 'High Powered'." said the Dev Director.

"No you didn't. You said 'Type R.' See I wrote it down." I said, and showed him my notepad that said "Type R?".

So now, everything high powered and awesome in the office is "Type R".

I am now on a crusade to get it used outside our offices. I should add it to urban dictionary or something.

Last night i did a synapse TF on Freedom.

    Found your problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

hehe, that's a good point. Unfortunately its one of few servers where finding a team isn't a problem. Playing on Freedom now is as active as playing on Champion 4 -1/2 years ago.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I scrolled to the end of this and found my laugh.
I tend to play with people I know and then add in strangers. if we want to fill the team. Inexperienced players get a lot of patience from me so long as they show a willingness to cooperate. Otherwise, they get thunderkicked.
  14. Ok, let’s start over:

    [ QUOTE ]
    1) Cluttering - With many farms it's hard to find story missions without a better built in tagging/filtering system. Farmers usually aren't bothered with this (they just need to find one farm and stick with it) but story-runners need to find new missions all the time. Cluttering is keeping people looking for stories away (and thus costing costumers for story writers)

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is no shortage of customers for storywriters. The clutter here is pure perception. I check the MA advertisings on Guardian forum when I want to try something unique from a trusted source. Just as in real life, you sometimes have to pick through some weeds to find the carrots.

    [ QUOTE ]
    2) Dev MA Nerfs - If Devs nerf what can be used in MA to hurt farms, it will likely hurt us too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Anything that hurts a farm should have no impact on you if you are focused on the story. If you want to earn rewards (most people do) then the constant, strident howling and whining about farming (not accusing you of this) hurts everyone. The "farming problem" has attained near mythic proportions fuelled by envy and intolerance. The Whining problem IS real and it is beyond idiotic. It is embarrassingly shameful the ridiculous things people are posting about a non-issue. Thus prompting my current campaign.

    [ QUOTE ]
    3) Dev XP Nerfs - Our main competition is NC Soft made story content. If XP for MA is nerfed badly so farmers have to find officiel content to farm instead, then also storyrunners might go the same way away from MA.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That statement makes no sense at all to me. There is no competition. If you are referring the Developer’s Choice awards, then that, to me, is a different subject. I, for one, still get a vastly huge XP reward (when I don't turn XP off) any time I want, whether in AE or not. As you have correctly stated, i do not know you and i cannot suggest how you are thinking, but I am thinking you need to team with some more experienced players. I offer my services on Guardian.

    [ QUOTE ]
People can farm all they like for all I care (as long as no exploit is involved anyway),

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apparently you do care, at least some, or we would not be here. Why should an "exploit" bother you? Are you an unpaid enforcer?

    [ QUOTE ]
personally the story-crowd just do not understand you (in CoH being 50 isn't everything, more like end of the line).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Though I agree 100%, it is irrelevant. Just like your perception of the rightness or wrongness of other player’s behavior is irrelevant so long as it does not affect you or your family directly. I do not presume to judge how people should play. Their money, their time, their problem. I do not meddle.

    [ QUOTE ]
Also... we have no illusion that a Farm nerf will ever make you our costumers. But people hating 'fanfic' also cannot assume that just because they would never run the stuff that noone else would either given that the clutter issue is solved and no Dev-anti-farm-reaction drives MA into the ground.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just as I should make no assumptions about you, you should make none about me. I am constantly on the lookout for interesting content. Post your arcs! Clear the “clutter”! The Dev anti farm reaction…. What? MA is fine and fun. What arcs are you playing that are being driven into the ground? That is a complete misperception.

    [ QUOTE ]
I hope this reply is measured enough not to turn this thread into another flamefest. There is too much of that with some of the misguided trolling going on here anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We can disagree without being disagreeable. I have a very difficult time with all of the negativity on the forums. When you buy a new car, you never go back to the dealer unless something is wrong with it. The happy people just drive and are happy. There are too many unhappy people having their unhappy voices heard over the happy people who are just quietly enjoying the game. Except me. I am happy and I am in a boring seminar so I share my happiness here.

Think of three nice things to say about AE and post it.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
My idea for making AE better: remove it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /golf clap.

    [/ QUOTE ]

AE is one of the most ambitions things ever tried in a game. Some people are putting on thier pouty faces. They are personally insulted because some computer programmers were compelled to alter it. Come here, let's hug. There, there. Time to get over it; the sonner the better.

AE is still awesome, even with the changes. I expect it to get better and better. I expect the game to get better and better in general, and, generally, it has. So exercise a little patience and have a little faith.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Since you ask... my main worries are these

    1) Cluttering - With many farms it's hard to find story missions without a better built in tagging/filtering system. [/ QUOTE ]

    Fair enough. No flames.
I offer therapy: Take a break from the game.
You are personalizing the game. When you put a group of office-workers at a game company in charge of your happiness, you are doomed to be unhappy. Be in charge of your own happiness and enjoy the game for what it is and do not lament what it is not.

City of Heroes is an awesome game. However, it is not EVERYONE'S game. Once you have offered your constructive criticism as to how you think the game could be improved, you are done. Let go of it.

I'm curious what is your incentive is to stay awake longer than normal?

    [/ QUOTE ]

well think of all the things you can do if you dont sleep....
plus the only great sleep is the sleep after...well you know

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was not asking you, but thanks. Other things under the "obvious" heading would be the obvious health impact of intentionally staying up for a protracted period. In other words: Avoiding sleep just to stay up and push the limits is self-destructive behavior. It may be fun or novel or even productive in a limited way but it is not healthy. I was curious if Dr. G was suffering from insomnia or had some other compelling reason to not sleep.

  22. It occurred to me that I have not thanked you either in PM or here for a great guide. My SD/mace tank is lvl 34 and rising rapidly. So much fun my wife is getting mad at me when I alpha-strike and wipe out a whole group before she can shoot twice! Your guide was a huge motivator, time-saver, and has helped provide me a ton of tanky fun. The run to 50 is so fast i am about to start turning off xp to re-play some upper level story arcs. Many thanks to you and to a very skilled tanker on Guardian named "Calydonian Bear" for inspiring me to create "Coaltrane".
  23. I'll be honest too. I have a newish SD/Mace tank, lvl 34, and his def is pretty good and getting better with every level! It took a couple tries and a careful re-reading of the power descriptions for the lights to come on for me, but I figured it out. To me, SD is a whole lot like SR. I play him like a mace scrapper. It works very well. I've been on "rugged" since lvl 22/SO's and I only have one or two IO's in him thus far.
I have been playing "Coaltrane" so much I have been letting e-mail pile up and staying off the forums. There is a lesson there, somewhere.
