    amen!
  2. Its a 50/50 thing... I had a wireless mouse once, but the batteries would die on me at horrible times, and depending on the mouse that you buy there MAY be some latency between movement and it registering, or even if your mouse would go into sleep mode if you don't use it for a few minutes. This would always happen to me as I'm a binder, not a clicker.

The only real upside to it is no wire.
  3. Yup same thing happened to me every time I would use the base porter.. Looked like my toon was doing the peepeedance
  4. Also depending on the version of windows that you're running defraggler may not work. If that happens look into Smart Defrag.

I have vista 64 and Defraggler ran for nearly 16 hours on a fresh install with NO progress... then a little research: it doesn't work on 64 bit OS.
  5. I had given up on it... its random some toons keep the colors i give them others don't

    Want to die...

to Eislor, true, but I didn't finish my thought, like the idiot I am, Whenever I backup I ALWAYS run an updated scan to be safe..

    Server status

but why is the date of the "last update" on it Updated: 2009-06-24 13:05:02 UTC

    that's June 24th
  8. The servers aren't up tho

Go to server status, look in the lower right corner, you'll see the date of the update is june 24th or something...

refresh a few times and you'll see they're down
  9. Mike_Aaron

    Want to die...

Not to be a [censored] here..... but i always keep my external drive unattached to my PC and just use it for backup reasons. I would suggest in the future picking one up for just that. I had a similar thing happen to me due to a hardware failure a few years back
Got a new machine, had to transfer lots of my music over (not bought or downloaded music, but stuff that I have recorded and played over the years) and my wonderful new Dell crashed 2 months in.

Thankfully I gave those master CD's to my old guitarist and he still had them.

The next day I went out and spent a small fortune on a 100gig external drive (and now you can get a 500 gig for almost half the price!)

Not much of a tech recommendation, but maybe food for thought in the future?

    Server status

Now my request is FIX THE SERVER STATUS

I have cleared out cookies, gone back to look and it says everything is up, yet the date in the lower corner is june 24 2009

I have to refresh it like 5 times...
that is just a mean tease. I'm in a boat like the OP. Due to work and real life, I don't get to play much anymore and I look forward to my time playing... So it is a bit of a tease I go to server status see its up, try logging in nothing...

check status, up... refresh... up refresh.. up, refresh down...

    Now thats just not nice!
oh well a little dungeon runners time! (and no i'm not leaving coh for it!)
  11. hmmm just for the sake of trying, I would run those two programs, can find them in the common solutions, i'm literally running out the door to work or I'd post links for you

but anyway run hijackthis and cohhelper and post them up, the tech brains on here should be able to help you out, god know's they've helped me in the past!
  12. try running the game in safe mode and from there setting the resolution to your desktop settings...

after that the smarter people on here should be able to help you if you post a hijackthis and cohelper log
  13. What about claws/sr?

In the creation screen make him/her with the claws that strap to the hand, its a decently fast recharged power before hasten...
  14. Oh i had that planned, and just ran a cap SF no lag problems at all just a MEH team

thanks for the link.... I already have divx and a trial of magic dvd ripper (gonna test it tonight) and dvd decrypter, so lets see how it goes...

And I had planned on doing it overnight, or while having dinner etc...

the things we'll do to keep ourselves sane at work!
  15. Thanks for checking in, sadly due to real life, I haven't had much of a chance to do much play testing.... so far was able to get in game a little bit and no major issues but the game was very underpopulated at the time. So even the slowest of machines would have a little boost.

But on a side note when looking for a new defrag program I came across a thing called "IOBIT Game Booster" free program that'll basically automatically shut down any non needed programs, alot easier than going down the line and shutting them down manually...

Also if I may vent just for total aggravation and anger. I was looking for a good DVD ripping program. I recently inherited a P.O.S. lap top. And I mean really bad, I'm scared to run minesweeper on this let alone COH. But its good to play vids on, my idea was to rip DVD's bring them to work on a flash and boom, a way to kill time. So here's where I'm an IDIOT.

I'm looking at some programs at bestbuy on my lunch break and the kid there tells me "nero9 will rip anything its what I use" and thankfully idiot me doesn't buy it on the spot.

Get home load up, I know I have nero 6 because it came with my DVD burner, click the upgrade link in the program (much cheaper than the boxed version)

Now here is where I REALLY screw this up (I have no one to blame but me, just gotta vent to someone) nowhere on the page does it say that there is a trail version. And it also states that you can back up your movies to your harddrive etc etc, no where does it say it can't do copy protected dvd's.

    Grumbe grumble grumble

OK better sorry but on a lighter note thanks for checking in!

  16. Thanks Bayblast

I was just messing with my bios and saw that my ram was running at 677, not 800, so i upped that, and I also shut down the quiet and cool in there...

unfortunately due to real life, I'm not going to be able to play test it till tomorrow night...

thanks again to everyone for the help/suggestions... and one thing I've noticed is just from upping the speed of the ram, and shutting down quiet/cool my machine has loaded up faster and even my mouse is now flying when I haven't changed any of the settings from this morning.
  17. howdy guys, thanks for all the input..... I'll answer things in some sort of order...

I'm running out the door to work and won't be able to mess with the ram settings till after work..

as far as getting a hijackthis off the old machine, that's not possible as it was gutted for parts. Thing is my powersupply went wonky on that one and messed up my mobo. after the PS replacement (thing would just not power up), it stopped recognizing some of the ram. I had tried swapping the ram around (was a 3 gig setup 512 x2 and 1g x 2) and nothing 2 of the sockets were shot.

yes it was a vista machine, and no they're no longer hooked up together, I just transfered my music, photos, settings etc over.

Yes my friend has built other machines no problems.

Would you suggest I disable the cool and quiet?
How the hell do I do this?!? lol

the mobo is an asus m4n72-e
    and the ram is http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...ey=%09O261-8038

in case that link doesnt work its part number O261-8038
and nothing was overclocked on this thing

I think that about covers everything

    thanks again!
  18. Texas, I'll look into the network card drivers in the AM, its 1130 now my time and I've gotta be up at 5am :-(

I know the router is fine because it was play on old machine one day, put new machine next day and instant slowdown situation,

Telstar, those things, I have no idea..... maybe they happened from windows easy transfer?

I'm too lazy to physically click and drag everything so I liked the two PCs together and did that... well worth the price of the cable!
  19. Welll, basically entering or exiting missions has almost doubled (more like X1.5 going in x2 going out to city map)

Not a huge deal but a little aggravating since this comp is a good chunk faster than the old one.

And I have been getting major hits of lag, freezing up when I'm moving across maps (nowhere near the BM or WW or AE). Now people I was teaming with didn't hit those lag spikes, and the other comp in the house was turned off at the time, so its not like that would have been eating up bandwith on me. And it wasn't at peak gaming times (wed say 1pm EST)

Guess I'm just frustrated. And I didn't build the comp, my friend did... so err yeah..
  20. C'm on can't one of you guys at least tell me how i've flat out botched my comp up?

    :-D

But all jokes aside any and all help would be much appreciated!
  21. So my new PC takes almost twice as long to load as my old one.

Went from Vista 32 2.0 ghz cpu, and 3 gigs of ram to vista 64, 2.6 ghz and 8 gigs of ram

Here's a COH gelper and Hihackthis

Not sure what the hell is happening

And yes I'm running SP2, and I have not had any of the crashes that I first had with my 9800 when it first came out.

** updated the highjack this and the COH helpers after doing a little cleanup, yet issue is still going on **

    First COHelper
I have tried to update it to the latest version. Yet every link I find brings me to a blank screen...

  22. Why not just open your volume mixer and mute it out?

I usually run the game at a fraction of the volume compared to the rest of my system because I've either got a vid playing on the side or Itunes running.

Just another way around it. And I never had music on my installs of the game. Then again this is going back to the original disks. pre CoV.

Then when I had to change machines I just went downloaded the updater from the website, less hassle of sitting here with the disks, just click and go do whatever.
  23. AH thanks much...

And I forgot to mention I'm also a huge rush fan, have your icon tattooed on my arm!
  24. Thanks much! I'm going to be checking with xoxide on the fans in the case to be sure I'm able to use the Kaze master. of all looks most like what I'm looking for

    THanks again!
  25. This is the case I was looking at and going to run the stock fans and add an intake in the front grill so that would be 5 fans total but the back exhaust I would imagine should always run its the extras causing noise that i'm worried about

And I would prefer something that both lets me see the temps and pots to control the fans..

eh I'm new to this and a moron so I again apologize for the stupid questions!
