I have just completed the misson from the Shadowy Figure, to defeat all the lost in the sewer. The only problem being is that the so called Lost were in fact Rikti,is this a bug or is it intentional ?
[/ QUOTE ]if u bother to read there own info before u kill them it would of told you that they being transformed into Rikti though rikti experminets
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless I'm mistaken Mr Sakey, he's saying that's he's found Rikti where he expected to find Lost, and I really don't think that info is what Rikti present.
Were he to find Lost in that mission, then yes, that information might have been allegedly available.
Whos know's maybe it is. Maybe I now have to kill EVERYONE!

Cool
. My plans and thought have been quite similar. I differed on travel power because I hate trying to mange TP, but that's just me
.
I didn't plan for leadership at all, but might revisit this.
I once had a Bots/Traps MM before i7 up to 40 and it was great fun. I lost it after a short break and always wanted to run it again, but got distracted with Dominators and Corruptors.
Stamina late on is right, as for levelling I found I really didn't need it at all, but getting into zonal PvP, was then very much looking to get it in. I plan on the shield and mace too. The defense looks great and I figured extra sticky stuff wouldn't hurt.
Cheers. I'm going back to my lair and blueprints to plot now.
(Thanks also for the IO info I asked for too). -
The 1st and 2nd ranged attacks from Plant (the control) or Thorns (the attacks)?
Sorry, just need to ask and clear that up, as you say you're using the first to "hold" so I think you're talking about the Plant side maybe.
Slotting on your attacks pretty much depends on how much you're coing to work with Invention Sets. See, you *could* slot it heavily, looking for a good bonus on recharge or something. But that's a lot of debate and personal opnion that differs from one person to another and won't fit in here at all.
Basically for simple stuff at least just stick an Accuracy in the one Thorny Dart slot. It's pants damage but is a very very quick attack and excellent for adding to the Domination bar. RAWR!
Your other attacks your really want to aim for 2 Accuracy 3 Damage at the very least. But especially slot Skewer as a priority if you're going it alone a lot. Then if you have Impale maybe slot that, then go for Fling Thorns after that. If you're soloing, your mob sizes are small and it's better to chew and spit out enemies one on one real quick than nibble limply at them several at a time.
If you're teaming a lot and always in teams with nice big mobs to feed on, then sure, get Fling Thorns slotted up heavily and enjoy that awesome cone chain.
As long as you think stabby stabby rippy and go in for that, slotting them, then you should get on much better.
Of course don't go trying to be all stabby stabby rippy on anything that isn't totally confused and beating up it's mates, or otherwise doing naff all, squirming and held.

Funny what triggers and renews interest in an old toon
. I've had a Robots/Traps kicking around for aaaaages, but some how it got rusty and neglected
. Until I saw the new retro raygun skin for Bots MMs on test
.
Now I'm gonna go all out with a new Bots n' Traps MM and this guide here, Maelwys, is a great inspiration to get levelling! Thanks!
I have a build idea I'm more or less running to, but would you perhaps feel like sharing yours for some checks and balances etc? -
Grats on your 1st 50!
The deflating feeling after can be depressing, especially first time around and especially if it took a while, or was a particulary fun toon for you.
Don't stress about finding another toon to click with asap, that could make you more frustrated. Play around and test some stuff and you'll click again with something.
Just one thing:

C) Waste my time with my kin, she is lvl46 and i feel like 'glue' in the teams... Dunno, maybe one day.

This a Corruptor? How come it feels like glue?
It should feel like frickin' rocket fuel!

...only a couple of attacks from sec(as most are melee, and i play ranged...
[/ QUOTE ]
That's probably your problem right there, depending exactly on which couple you have. Thorns big stuff IS in it's melee attacks. You should have Skewer for sure, and you're close to getting Ripper. Thorn Barrage comes at 38. It's classed as ranged but that range is extremely extremely poor so may as well just about consider it melee LOL.
Slot you Flytrap asap (I'm guessing you did take it at 32?) and this will start to make a huge difference. It spits a lot of it's own immobs and also spits some nice attacks with it's own Fling Thorns and kind of Impale power. It will also get into melee sometimes for some good chomping action. It's attacks compliment and add to your damage output nicely.
A good chain is Seeds Of Confusion, Immobs, Fling Thorns then dive in a get stabbing. Your Flytrap should follow up with a nice additional barrage of Fling Thorns and add some good single target attacks. If you want to be sure to avoid any possible slip ups, use Carrion Creepers as your opening move. Mobs will turn their attention straight on these, and you'll have some time time to line up what ever it is you want to throw in next.
What difficulty are you trying? In all honesty, after achieving the 'Flytrap you should be ready to up your difficulty not having to down it.
Plant/Thorns is a PvE monster. It plays very viciously as a kind of spiteful Blapper with great controls. I don't overly agree that it's control is outshined that much at all by other Dominator sets TBH. Plant has a devestating amount at it's disposal.
Maybe you might want to post up your build for some further help in getting more out of it?
What server are you on. Could always Lackey to mine for a couple of quick newspaper mishes if you're on Defiant and want some ideas, or try stuff out. -
Also, remember what the current situation is. Ahead of i11 a lot of people are waiting on the new sets before rolling another lowbie alt. I know a lot of people who are currently actually working on finishing high level toons ahead of the new issue and making a new character, so I guess there could be a lull in lowbie action.
Around various SG sites and forums there's a lot of chat about what characters people are going to be making in the new issue, so I think there will be quite a fw new toons running around come launch time.
Pre-issue periods are always a transient stage for people. -
Huge grats Ruby
! Was great fun to team with you and see you ding
.
Thanks for all the fun on the way to 50.
-
Thanks
.
Yeah was really cool fun dinging right up in Tyrant's face (PIC). Thanks for the great team for it.
Enjoyed my Blaster a lot. Now just have to learn how to PvP with it. Big thanks to all my SG and coalition peeps for the teams throughout his career, and big thanks to new peeps I've started to meet recently too esp' Ruby for loads of support and help

Yeah it is possible. Without LOTGs, was toying around with an Ice/Psi build that I think got down to around 89 seconds. And I got pretty close on Plant/Thorns, without going into Pools. Could probably push that further by going into pools etc.
Haven't really followed it up though because I wasn't too keen on how dilute the build became and the way the performance started to look like adding up. It all seemed to come at expense that looked a bit too distasteful for all the glory of having perma Domination. Certainly a LOT of big powers in the builds were looking like having a looong downtime by taking sets and losing recharge that the overall sets bonus just wouldn't touch near replacing and that just seems to undermine the point.
Sure with LOTGs it'd be great. Otherwise I'm happy with the next closest result, and still packing a lot of punch and no stalling for key elements to pop back up or bereaving my loss in rate of damage etc.
Is perma Domination going to benefit builds that have a really big reduced damage output from swapping out to different sets, like slows over damage? Or have very slow recharge to their primaries. Surely there's a point where a non-perma Dom' build is going to keep pace with, or even actually out pace a perma Dom' build that's given up a lot to achieve that? Not sure, but interested. -

How is your dwarf slotted?
I was thinking more of a PB who has heavily slotted his dwarf might have a little chance.

"Little" might be right.

Two Cyst Crystals, more or less together, with the Thorn Tree. That was a nice sight

Ouch!...
IIRC you go from the combo unit, producing 75 power, straight to the next highest which produces 1,000 (and is priced to match!).

Ah, I remember the days when we drilled a hole in the wall and jacked electricity off the Liberty Legion.

I got caught in an STF where my Warshade Lobster form was the only "tanky" thing available.
All well and good wherever AVs are nice and accomodating and sit in a nice big mob for a big hit on Eclipse and Mires, but a bit different with the Inner Circle, who punched me out my my shell several times repeatedly.
I would like to take part in this however just for the enjoyment of 8 Nova/Lobsters hurtling around blasting and smashing everything.
The whole TF is pretty easy and straight forward for a Tri Form WS which does very well decimating pretty much anything with the big mobs and lots of nice fluffy essences...
..until.. the Inner Circle.... and Recluse will pancake you with just a glance.
Still, I'd like to join in if space available.

Im pretty casual and PvP here and there. I make characters I like and theres plenty of sets or powers I dont like for various reasons that mean I dont have anything 100% PvP built. That said I consider in my builds that I like them to work the best they can as a part in both worlds.
Duels are rock, paper, scissors indeed. I tend to duel people I know and understand that its for fun and a friendly challenge. I tend to duel with my Plant/Thorns Dominator as its the one 50 I have that I have always enjoy carrying on playing. It does ok. Its pretty much more for high level PVE, LRSF etc. Theres a lot of things that can really make it hard or cripple it. Theres also some sets its really good against. Ive been quite pleased how it works overall. Ive had some good fights with friends that are great fun and challenging and its rewarding to win against sometimes strong players and characters I might not be expected to beat.
I tend to enjoy squishies a lot more and the fights with peoples more unusual or unexpected characters are usually the most fun and exciting.
I tend to fight Raz quite a bit on whatever characters we have been levelling. I think it's my Energy/Kin Corruptor vs his Sonic/Thermal next, whenever I get it together and hit 50 .
And he's is skint, as always.

So you're happy to charge a ridiculous price yourself, but not so happy to pay someone else's ridiculous price?
Aren't you part of your own problem? -
Just a quick note further to this. I'm not really sure at all where the current situation is with set bonuses across forms.
I respecced recently from a build favouring IOs and sets in human form to one weighting them into Nova form and blasting.
Now although I am about 2 pieces short of completing my sets build fully, I was previously enjoying nigh perma Eclipse, and in instances running 3 fluffies for a good period of about 20-30 secondsish when solo. Since the respec I'm not anywhere near that.
I haven't changed my play style at all. I move between mobs generally in human form, open up with Gravitic Emanation, Hold, Eclipse, Mire etc then switching to Dwarf to double Mire, and quick switches to Unchain, Quasar, or Extract Essences etc, or to blast and vaporise in Nova form.
I use all forms equally tbh but tend to move around out of combat in human form.
My recharge definitely seems out from what I had previously.
I'm running the same sets for recharge bonues, but simply placed differently across the build.
IIRC (as I am at work currently) 2 X Doc' Wounds, 3 X Posi, 2 X Crushing Impact, 1 X Stupefy.
Currently 2 piece soff finishing 1 X Decimation for my last, 5th 6.25% bonus.
I am *sure* I am seeing a difference in the recharge I had and have now...
It's pretty hard to quantify exactly, and at what point I'm losing out.
As much as I can determine, I've dropped around 5% I had in Human form and moved it to Nova.
Seems I may need to spec back and probably slot with set bias back in human form again, with HOs to fill out Nova etc and then bias my play to human form if I want to push the recharge.
There seems to be muddle on this.
I'm aware it was cited that set bonuses were migrating across forms and that it's against intention, but I'm really very skeptical it's happenining at all. I can't reason otherwise as I'm using exactly the same sets, but simply slotted in bias to Nova/Dwarf.
Either that or, it could be possible, I've suddenly started playing in a way that is distorting this, favouring a form over another.
Confused. -
Playstyle orientated for sure.
I have the same sets built into my Tri Form, but slotted much more into the big human powers. I play each form in equality probably, but I really do like to make use of the disorients, holds, the big AOE nukes and Extract Essence.
I went all out on recharge to get perma Eclipse and have 2 Essences out constantly. I have 3 more times than not if teamed with a Kinetic or anyone giving AB or AM .
All in all it makes for some pretty devastating damage in big mobs.
I slotted Unchain Essence far more heavily and Gravity Well and Gravitic Emanation, using HOs in the Nova form etc, but the results pretty much the same. Lots of extra acc' and lovely recharge
I don't know if I'd slot the Dwarf Strike that much. It seemed pretty weak even fully slotted when I previously tried it.
-
I think you get hard pushed to get to about 50%+ recharge bonus from sets? And that's probably really going for it and getting quite a few LOTGs running. I think that'll get stacked over my focussed debuffing builds really. And some builds really stack that -recharge stuff on thick too.
I'm sure a lot of /cold builds etc debuff right down to base value
For movement slows, for all the +movement speeds you get, someone probably has enough +slow sets to counter that too.
-
Nice one Battler
. Was great to bump into you again on your way to another 50.
We dinged 50 when I played my leccy Brute "Professor Vulcan?".
-
K, I'll be getting in on the big raids that are happening in the early evenings to keep pace and not miss out what's happening during my work hours, so the invasion attacks I'll be chasing will be the ones that happen later in the evenings/nights.
Sorry about any confusion. I will be online and running for the invasions later on in the evenings if anyone wants to join. /tell @evil thistle etc
.
-
Awesome work buddy
.
Now help me and Prov get there.
-
Oh, I'll be online as either Evil Thistle or Professor Vulcan I should mention I guess
.
Looking forward and hoping we can amass some hoooge battles.

Some teams running tonight onwards to fight Rikti zone attacks in the Rogue Isles, and to attain zone attack badges, esp' to try trigger more assault heavies.
It seems to be suggested getting the heavies to spawn needs a decent number of villains present, so probably best for villains in any zone to muster and fight in one area.
Rally points for ground assaults:
Mercy Island - Mercy gates, close to Mongoose in the open area in front of the walls
Port Oakes - Base Portal
Cap Au Diable - area straight ahead of ferry, between Black Market and ferry
Sharkshead - large docks area, straight from ferry
Nerva Archipelago - area straight ahead of ferry, near quartermaster
St Martial - Base Portal
Grandville - Lord Recluse statue
With rally points near the ferrys for Cap, Sharks and Nerva, it should be simple to move to subsequent attacks fairly quickly with one load, as opposed to loading twice to use base teleports.
The Cap, Shark's, Nerva and GV circuit might be the best, dependant on where stikes happen.
Not seen any attack waves get droned yet, but for the zones that are more of a chore to traverse, I guess somewhere in the vicinity of base portals, but away from any nearby drones will be better.
Patrols probably gathering and starting whenever the next waves of attacks happen after 19:00 tonight.
Had some great battles so far and loving this event.
