You can try PingPlotter and post the results here. Might give you an idea of what company along the way to CoH to pester. If it is one of those in between companies, it'll be a long hard road ahead of you geting through to them, but it may just be worth a shot.
And now the dumb question, Donathius. You have tried turning off and back on your modem/router and all that good stuff? I know, it's been a year and all, I just thought I'd go over the basic questions real quick. Thanks for understanding. -
This may be the chief difference between the unhappy and the happy here. 30mins wait, to me, is perfectly reasonable. Yeah, less is better, but 30min hardly seems like to long.
Heck, I've been a hold with AT&T for FAR longer than that (4 hours one time in particular, but many times I've gotten close to that)...and they are a HUGE company with support departments MANY times bigger than ours. -
Question:
In BIOS, is there a temp reading or even a system status area?
If so, this will at least give you a base number to either find an In WIndows temp monitor that works or be used as a guage to change the delta in a program that is at least close.
Sidenote: Oh, and by the way...many (NOT ALL!!! Have to ward off the nit-pickers before they try to choke me) Brisbane chips temp sensors were funky and will never be able to accuratly provide a correct temp. -
The one time I needed a GM, it was there within 10 minutes (on a Saturday night by the way) and got our dog outta the tree lickety split. Concise and to the point it was, for sure, but oh well...less time wasted on shooting the shoot with us means it gets to the next problem quicker.

Quote:/SecondedI really wouldn't recommend overclocking an integrated video chipset... especially since it's not a desktop and you can't improve cooling. You are playing with fire..
As tempting as it would be to try, the cooling of a laptop is not sufficient for any level of overclocking.
Memory! Put as much and as fast as you can in that thing.
A laptop cooler may help too, because things just work better (maybe not faster) when cooler...and it will prevent any throttling that *may* occur. -
Oh, you know just what a gal likes to hear.
WHat?!?! I won't be able to cram 32 vid cards in this machine and be able to acheive 5642fps?!?!?! OMG, FTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Dar, quoted wrong part, lol...ddon't feel like fixing it now.)
Quote:On a plus note most MB manufactures have licensed the "secret code" that nVidia use to only have in their motherboard chips so both X58 and P55 mobos will support both SLi and Crossfire. I'm still disappointed that the only thing that prevented other mobos from supporting nVidia SLi was essentially a decryption key that the driver looks for embedded in nVidia motherboard chipsets and not some hardware deep voodoo.
Ohhhh...4.7, here we come! -
...why has this thread gotten 308 looks?
.

.
I'm slightly, and unfoundedly (real word?), proud of that. -
Quote:I'm glad I noticed this thread. While I see no reason to upgrade my XP/2.7GHz/2GB current rig for CHV, if Mechwarrior turns out to be as freaktacular as the trailer made it out to be, I'll be going for broke on a new rig.
Thanks for the info, people! You gunna try overclocking again?

Yes, Turbo-Boost is a cheap way...but as long as verifies verify correctly, and there in no way to cheat a verify with it, I'll be happy.
ANyways, disabling Turbo-Boost for higher OC's seems to be the concensus...but there are caveats. It *can* be helpful in some situations (trick it into a higher multi)...but the higher up, the more likely that it will kick in at the wrong time and push our well fought for stability see-saw back over to the chubby kids side.
I REALLY want Happy_Killmore to come in here...he had a i7 920...and I think had it up to 3.8 stable. -
Wow, I really am out of the loop.
Looks like an i7-860 might be the sweetspot. If it's sub $300, at least.
4G?!Pfft!!! If I go for it, I'll be heading for 4.2-4.4 verified...anything less will just be a dissapointment.
Might even have to spring for a new TEC setup, just for the occasion.
THe boost thingie, sounds like a cheap way...will bring all the novices outta the woodwork...again...just like the 1st i7's and the C2D's...but I'm speaking outta my ear on that...need more research...been to long since I've paid real attention to my one true love.
Yes, Noogies, FX has a win outer coating, and a awesomsauce inner filling.
Interested in how much perf gain can will be attributed to the on dye vid troller... -

"I'm very sorry, sir. I put down your orde as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820159021 However, I had wrongly assumed 8 slots, for some odd reason, when you had said 'server'...I don't quite know why, sir. I do apologize and hope that you will not think less of 'Mid's Imporium of Fantastical Tech Thingies', and continue to visit us in the future."

Quote:And, thusly, there is no reason to wait for i5 as opposed to an i7...unless one has budget concerns and is looking a plain vanilla workhorse.Apparently, having Hyperthreading enabled is what makes the i7 an i7, with i5 chips having it disabled.
Quote:I REALLY want to drop 16GB of DDR2 RAM into my server, but dagnabbit! $700+ is just too much! Whatever happened to cheap DDR2 memory???

Unless you're looking for ECC or something else uncommon. -
Quote:Either way though, DDR3 has dropped in price considerably, so whatever you want really. However, the more the merrier (sp?), is what I always sa.I pre-ordered my copy of Windows 7 Pro, so I'll be building a new system once that's out and patched at least a little. It will definitely have an i7 CPU. I suppose I'll have to look at RAM prices at that time to decide whether to go with 6 or 12GB of DDR3 . . . .
Edit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186161 Ohh, Pretty Orange!!! Have no idea about the board, and don't care for the company (though, I've had no *bad* experiences with them)...but it's got ORANGE!!! -
Single Mexican Female looking for proc and mobo combo to spend late nights tweaking voltages with.
Must be cool under pressure.
Lots of nobs and dials.
Willing to run for long hours without crashing early (not meant to be as dirty as it might sound).
=P
(Still goofing off...sorry)

...I REALLY want to get an i7 920 and a mobo. =(
I've been out of the loop for a while now...but geez, my sig has gotten stagnant (sp?) and I wat something NEW!!!
SO bored!!! Need to OC something!!!
(Sorry, goof off thread...will probably annoy some people)
-
Silly question, but you've updated your drivers right? Reason I ask, is that is a bit low FPS for that card. Even if Vert Sync is on, that should cap at 60, not 50. Might be some sillyness there.
Also, check in the nVidia control panel to see if anythig is set REALLy high...like 16 times FSAA or something else that might be needlesly high set. -
Not to be judgemental or anything...but that's an odd gift for a mother

Quote:Which is possibly why we still have unlimited editing? I know it helped me fix a few older posts that I contributed (at least *I* feel that I contibutedThey're linking to the old forum thread numbers, which are different from the new forum thread numbers.
The guides need to be manually updated.
Obviously, this is a daunting task, and will take time.
Patience. In the meantime, use the search function to look for a specific thread title, which is usually listed in the guides.) to guides.
