Nova is your lowest single Target dps form, especially if you're using nova bolt. (If you must, the single Target chain for nova should be Blast>Emanation>Blast>Detonation.)
Human offers the strongest single Target and should easily be able to take out an AV. Use a chain of Gwell>SBlast>Edrain>Sblast combined with orbiting death. If you find your triform build has trouble with survival or endurance doing this, you can either go with dwarf form or make another build for this purpose. You do not have to go all human to do this (I always keep nova for AoE and others use dwarf for a set mule). -
Quote:Assuming I calculated average -res correctly, I'm pretty sure. Feel free to check me and we can compare. Most of those chains should be quite close to each other though. Are you sure on those?
Mercuial Blow last I checked did less DPS than Precision Strike and Serpent's Reach had better DPS and is more likely to stack Assassin Focus.
If memory serves (and it could be wrong) I could swear MB only came off as being good for Tankers who can slot the -Resist Proc AND it comes with Bruising for additional -Resist. -
You also have to calculate the chances of those three attacks giving assassins focus and average out the critical damage. Anyway, for staff with -res procs it seems to be:
MB-PS-AS-SS
These are not much lower:
PS-GS-AS-SS
SR-PS-AS-SS
SR-MB-AS-SS
MB-GS-AS-SS
This one is significantly lower:
PS-SR-AS-SS -
Except when you said "everyone here feel that they deserve powersets on THEIR schedule". And since no one even implied that they deserved it, simply that they were mainly excited about it and now will just have to wait, you at the very least twisted our words which is far from polite.
-
And all my excitement for Tuesday just went down the drain
Hopefully they don't wait too long.

Of course, your opening words did remind me of this...
"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." - Nietzsche "Beyond Good and Evil", Aphorism 146 (1886) -
cool video. I especially like the end, nice touch.

Quote:Dechs, dude, relax. I don't think he was attacking you. And while positron's blast does offer some strange enhancement values, it will continue to be my set of choice for nova emanation because I want the range enhancement and the recharge is not as important as for nova detonation and because I have plenty of acc from set bonuses as well as tohit from the form itself. I find it subpar for any other power because the recharge it gives is lame, so I would stick with a bad set that has its uses.Alright, Alien, this is just for you.
Positron's Blast, six slotted nets you the following.
47.7% Acc
99.08% Damage (Or 127.2 before ED)
47.7% Endurance
15.94% Range
26.5% Recharge
Look at those numbers closely, because it seems to me you're the one who has forgotten about ED. None of those numbers except damage have enough enhancement to even be close to affected by ED, and damage is through the roof. Recharge is found only on a pitiful half of an enhancement. This is a bad set any way you slice it.
For a set to be "good," it should have at least 80% in recharge. Let's look at a commonly used PBAoE set. Obliteration.
66.25% Accuracy
96.6% Damage (Or 108.65% before ED)
18.55% Endurance
89.93% Recharge (Or 92.75% before ED)
This is more like it. Notice how the Damage enhancement is 20% shy of what Posi offers and it doesn't change anything. Then look at how it's gotten better accuracy, "way better" recharge, and only sacrifices a bit of endurance. The important attributes all get the enhancement they need.
Now let's look at Kheldian's Grace. Mine is reporting:
97.1% Damage
66.3% Accuracy
96.6% Recharge
39.7% Endurance
Wow, those numbers are even better than Obliteration's. It doesn't have proc damage, but it does have this nifty Form Empowerment thing, so I'll call that a wash.
So let's take a step back here and look at the whole picture. Posi's blast is a bad set. Obliteration is a better set. Kheldian's Grace is even better than that. One might even go so far as to say that Kheldian's Grace is ... I don't know... way better than Posi's Blast.
Now, Alien, you're entitled to your opinion and all that good stuff, but next time you go spouting stuff like you're someone who contributes to the site with guides, check your *** **** facts.
I will repeat myself. Positron's Blast is a bad set. There just don't happen to be any better alternatives. Not until now. -
Well, masterminds should be a little upset too. Scrappers and stalkers seem to have made out nicely...

I see the crummy special IO from the kheld set made it to live... Think it's possible to get changed now?

I can give you my estimate for top-end staff tonight when I get home, though I'm missing info on the special damage done by sky splitter with full form of body. I'll post later on how to do the calculations so you guys can figure some of these out (this could be a good repository for that info).

Quote:Only for staff. Are you wanting top end single target dps or SOs or non-purple?Hey guys, the new patch is coming soon (maybe) and I am sure that I am not the only person wanting to know how st dps will change. I'm not sure how to calculate all this up or I would have done it my self, so has anyone done so yet? Some sort of st dps comparison chart would be great. I looked over the the forum and couldn't find another post, if I missed something, please post a link. Thanks!

Those bugs are gone. AFAIK elec melee is completely bug-free. Certain procs might not do what you think:
Chance for +end procs in elec attacks will actually give your opponent endurance.
+rech proc in Lightning rod will do nothing, since Lightning rod is technically a pet and the caster of its own damage. -
My experience with dark extraction: if it's a ghost just give up, if it's a Warwalker you have about 1 second to activate the power or you won't get a fluffy, for everything else I count to about 7-8 seconds after which I find a new corpse as the danger of not getting a fluffy is too high.

Quote:Was talking purely AoE attacks, which is almost exactly the same between the two dwarves on SOs.I also have to disagree with this statement:
An SO'd Black Dwarf with an attack chain of mire-strike-smite-drain-strike-smite will do (with sunless mire weighted in) 1,059 points of damage to those same three rwz dummies I used above for 114 AOE dps.
An SO'd White Dwarf with an attack chain of flare-strike-smite-strike-smite-strike (pauses excluded) will do (with inner light factored in) 942 points of damage for 92 AOE dps.
So not even close. -
We don't really disagree, I just got off on a tangent comparing individual forms because the MFing style of being all forms at all times does not work for me without toggle suppression *coughdevs*
-
Quote:If you're capping mire targets, sure. However, in human, even capping the human mire and using Quasar is likely going to still be less AoE over time than a human PB, simply because the latter has more and better options for frequent AoE.At 300% damage? Pfft. No contest. We are talking about AOE damage, which isn't reasonable to discuss if there's no Mire targets. Without Mire targets, there's no need to talk AOE. Also, MFin' shades can use Quasar without blinking an eye. Peacebringers don't get a free pass for their blue bar.
Quote:The point we were just discussing was Tri Form Shades doing more AOE damage than Peacebringers without pets. You are changing the subject Mr. Microcosm. -
-
Quote:Eh, this I don't know about.A Tri Form- Er... Rather, MFing Warshade is going to pump out more AOE than a Peacebringer without pets.
White Dwarf is roughly comparable to Black Dwarf in AoE.
Which Nova is better depends on how many targets you hit with mire.
HumanPB AoE >>> HumanWS AoE.
There are several fixes that could make the pet disparity not as painful. There's the one THB mentioned, or they could make Photonic Essence summon one light-version of the Warshade pet that is untouchable (to balance vs the multiple vulnerable WS pets), or they could make Photonic Essences summon 2 light-versions of the Warshade pet that do not expire on a timer or require a defeated enemy (balanced on the limit of two and that they are just as vulnerable as the WS pets). Any of these would be better than what we currently have. -
Low investment: nin. Just softcap defense and go to town with the heal and toys.
High investment: ice elec and dark. Softcap defense and diversify your other types of protection. -

Quote:While I don't think they they are as glaringly defficient as thb does, I agree with all of this to an extent. Fix the pets and change kb to kd.But Warshades still do more damage than Peacebringers.
To me, the solution would be buffing Photon Seekers, changing KB to KD, and giving Peacebringers an AOE heal. Bam, balanced Kheldians playing different but equally useful roles.
Well they are glaringly deficient and it's unfortunate. The last round of buffs did a lot to help them catch up to Warshades, but it only addressed the survivability issue. Warshades still have significantly higher AOE and ST damage potential, much more useful mitigation for end game purposes (stun>KB,) and no crashing issues with their t9.
Granted the LF crash is needed to stop the power from being too good, but I'd like to see the cooldown and mitigation on Conserve Power reduced to match that of LF so it can mitigate every crash on a high recharge build. -
Assuming no difference in building Assassin's Focus (need to see some hard numbers on that), I believe the highest damage chain with purple procs and -res procs will be MB-PS-AS-SS. I would personally shoot for the slightly lower dps MB-GS-AS-SS (more -res procs make up most of the difference, and it gets a cone that also boosts defense). Of course, it does depend on how Assassin's Focus ends up building.

Only reason I know this is it has been a literal lifesaver on my /fire armor characters in the UG. I try to use it as both a set mule and for that particular circumstance, but otherwise I gotsta have my clarion.
