it's actually
"the two sweetest words in the enligsh language DE-FAULT!"
gl guys -
yeah i guess pick your words...
basically you debuff someone by -30% res, then they have 30% less resistance. This is only how defenders work. If you fix this then you don't need unresistable damage IMHO. -
I still think that you can remove unresistable damage just make all buffs/debuffs resistable
so a sonic siphon debuffs by 30% and sonic shields buff by 30% (roughly) so if you're buffed up and then hit with a siphon your back to 0% resistance.
this is how defenders work, but corruptors and controllers do not...

i might just put in a application. and i have a TA/dev blaster does that qualify?
[/ QUOTE ]
ta/dev?
so trick arrow devices? Hank you the put the assy in classy -
well not that this matters but 3 of the sg's particapating in the hero ladder league (currently the number one and two ranks), as well as the top villain pvp vg, and two of the 3/4 groups participating in the base raiding ladder are all based on liberty.
so quality wise it would look like liberty would be a good place to go. Now the down side to this is obviously that everyone is so busy on test with practice or these various events that there isnt' much going on in the zones right now
I'm bias though... -
wow
great job
and great title.
that's alot of info -

good times.
MJ you do know this is one of the many ways in which kyle got banned, for repeating a story time over arena.
yeah i don't think she was a ******.
Tell the on about the ****** on vacation!
*gets popcorn* -
I have been around for a while here but still I have to say that I wish i could have found guides like this when I was a n00b to the game. Well done!
bit of a question you kinda went into this but one update i can see is a brief explanation of the pros and cons of Inv/Fire and what type of tanker this will make (skanker, conker, any other wierd combo you can come up with).
cheers, -

The ranged and melee damage scales survived for the same reason people still have an appendix: there is no significant gain in removing it and it might be useful again some day.

This is a great quote... almost sig worthy -
shhhhhh ju crazy man!?! -jump - fly siphon speed... mmmmm
in other news:
happy birthday! -
I really hope the devs know what they are doing with the PPP's. I think it works like this heroes get FA we get -jump -fly powers so they can see us and hit us at range but melee isn't going anywhere.
I hope that teleport gets a big push, frankly i think the super speed + super jump is overused.
all pvp comments of course

I'm thinking this may be the set I go with for my fire/kin corruptor. Do any fellow Corrs have any experience with this set and could give me a little info on how well it works for us?
[/ QUOTE ]
I have Web Grenade with my Ice/Kin and I can tell you that PvE its ok but Im only 41 right now. The power states that its AoE Immoblize with Jump, -Fly and Recharge. So PvP (in theory, more testing needed) you could keep your foe on the ground and use siphon speed to slow then with the added bonus of stacking recharge on them.
I only found the grenade useful on the EBs I have fought for the recharge. I guess you could help out a FA brute with burn but they have access to a AoE immozlize at that point as well. -
I'm really happy that you have the ability to do something about city of jumpers now. The recharge/durrations still seem a bit weak requiring alot of slots and the redrawn/animation time feels longer then 2 seconds but all in all I'm more impressed with this set for my corruptor and brute then the others.

It had better be -Jump, too. That's a pretty important and valuable part of Web Grenade.
[/ QUOTE ]
it would be the only reason to take this ppp over anything if you really think of it. if there's no -jump im definitely going sirocco or mako
[/ QUOTE ]
I picked up this power on my corruptor and it says -jump, - fly and -recharge. I have not tested this on a jumper but the -fly works pve.
All in all I say this power will be pretty sweet in pvp. -
Its like the devs broke into two teams.
Team one: Well they need to have shields for squishies. Corruptors should be given holds, OH and lets give brutes some Immobilizations! PETS FOR EVERYONE! *the room erupts in cheers and applauding*
*meanwhile in the subbasement team two receives the power list from team one*
Team two: Ok so all these powers look way too good. Hmmm 32 second recharge on that hold for corruptors.
Ok lets say 20end/sec on the shield well that might be a bit high people might complain ok 1end/sec.
Pets, well I really dont know what they were thinking with this one everyone cant have a pet out all the time! 5 hour recharge timer ok ok 15 minutes there that should make all these powers balanced. -

Difficulty/Reputation Slider
Increase your reputation will increase the numbers and/or the level of the mobs you will face in missions. You will also get a higher bonus in some cases.
The scale is :
Villainous : normal amount of mobs, +0/+1 in level, boss scaled down to lieutenant level
Malicious : more mobs in each pack, +0/+1 in level, same mission bonus as Villainous
Vicious : normal amount of mobs, +1/+2 in level, extra mission bonus
Ruthless : more mobs in each pack, +1/+2 in level, same mission bonus as Vicious
Relentless : normal amount of mobs, +2/+3 in level, higher mission bonus than Vicious
[/ QUOTE ]
Is this really how it works??
Im not doubting you but I just wanted some conformation. I always thought that it went:
Villainous: normal number of critters per group 0/+1 in level
Malicious: Less number of critters per group +1/+2 in level
Vicious: normal mount of critters per group +1/+2 in level
Ruthless: Less number of critters per group +2/+3 in level
Relentless: normal amount of mobs, +2/+3 in level.
Again I could be wrong but anyone confirm or deny this? -
No this is the St. Martial SF.
If at all possible bring a /kin with you on this fight. perhaps I'm bias but when he summons all those mobs fulcrum is a godsend. -
Deus I know your done talking about your idea so Ill be brief. Powers like dull pain and Earths Embrace would have to be looked at under this new system where damage provides fury because as we all know using dull pain at around 40% hp gives you a full health bar and increases you max hps. Meaning that you just generated 60% of your hit points worth of fury which should be a big chunk if the system were designed your way, with no danger at all.
If you look back at this thread you posted (at length) 5 times after you presented your original idea versus everyone else on the boards 6. Draw what conclusion you will but I think you took peoples comments/criticism as attacks. You cant put out and idea and say what do you think? and expect people not to tell you.
Fury is not perfect and what you propose is a decent alternative which Im sure will never be implemented. Hell if blasters cant get defiance changed then there is no way we will get fury changed.
As far as my beliefs on fury, well it sucks pvp but I have never had a problem with it in pve. At 40 I can get full fury in no time at all and as alt lowbies I can out damage anyone because of it. I dont even slot damage (except big smash). Ideas are needed to fix fury for pvp but this solution would possibly hurt more then it would help IMHO.
Ideas for a fix are needed and hopefully the devs will listen,

-Lucks do not make you lucky.
-Enjoy powers that make you say "WOW" because they will be nerfed.
-If you see a much higher level exit the building your mission was in then you must assume two things:
1) There is probably and ambush of Malta behind you
2) That building really knows how to multitask
-Try not to get jaded to quickly. Shadow Shard is still an amazing zone.
-There is no Zen in PvP. If you can laugh at yourself your blood pressure will be better.
-Inspirations which you need will never drop. -

Inertial Reduction: Why two travel powers? Seems like a waste to me. I know you wanted to get acrobatics but you don't need IR also then. Also it's perma without a recharge so I have a jump in mine.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because nothing is more annoying than to have to refresh one's travel power every 60 seconds. Period. Besides, IR is vital to helping teammates and lowbies (that are MK'd) get around safely and efficiently (especially in CoV where being vertically challenged sucks). In CoH, I am 50/50 on keeping IR. Often it goes (like ID).
[/ QUOTE ]
The reason I mentioned IR was if your build is so tight that you cant pick up hasten this seemed like a reasonable power to drop. On my corruptor I took IR as my only travel power and just created a macro which would cast IR on auto and jump forward. I find that most zones (pretty much all but nevra) only require two castings at most. As far as lowbies you already can grant them super speed but why not get recall friend, wait too many pools. Dunno I dont usually team with many below 14 when Im 40.

Transference: With the knew changes to endurance draining this is actually on my list of "things to test when I7 hits test" so I'll get back to you but 3
[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure what you mean by this... but 3 end mods? Yeah, that's all I wanted/needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
What I was getting at is that there has been a recent change to mobs endurance levels and resistance to endurance drains. I find it more useful to slot two acc, 3 recharge and one end mod and reapply but like I said I have no hard data to back up which is more effective at 1) Supplying you with greater end/sec 2)Draining mobs. Testing will occur once I7 hits test

Did you see my Fire/Kinetics controller build (posted right after the Corrupter Build you commented on)? It's not PvP, either (as there was no PvP when I took that toon to the mid/low 40's). It's w/o leadership pool, and I'd drop IR, in all likliness now, as I don't team (or even play) with that toon anymore.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually no I saw a kinetic defender thus my first comment originally. You didnt post any controller build. -

Mastermind:
The Boy Scout: His motto is to be prepared. So once he enters a mission, he will proceed to spending a seemingly endless period of time getting his pets set up just right, then waiting for all his pet powers to finish recharging, and then doing even more unknown stuff. This process can take 10 or more minutes. He will do all of this siliently and even if the party begins fighting, he'll still be at the mission door. When confronted about this, he'll blame Cryptic for forcing him to resummon all his pets everytime he zones in. You can often complete a mission without ever seeing this MM or his pets.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would like to add that this person will then laugh and say see you should have waited for me If there is a team wipe.
Whats a Lackey?
This one spans all ATs but effects brutes and MMs the most.
Weve all been there, you just bit off more then you can chew but there is no one on in your level range and that mission timer is counting down. So you invite a lower level person to your group and the highest member lackys him (after several requests). All goes well for a while until the Lackeyer (non-sense word meaning the Boss) dies and proceeds to go to the hospital right away.
I think its so funny when boy scout looses his lackey and goes ballistic or worse if a brute has waded in and the dominator (face planter) heads to the hospital. You can almost see the brute crap there pants as those yellows become purple.
Hospital where is that?
This is any player who knows that there is no rezer in the group and has no awakens and refuses to go to hospital until either entire team is wiped or he stops getting exp. Even if the hospital is right next to mission. My favorite is if there is a rezzer in the group this person will wait in line for rez to recharge rather then head to the hospital.
