Quote:And that's not counting that for only 1 added slot, you can get a nice ranged/energy/negative defense bonus. I have sj, ss, and nebulous form all on my ws.In defense of Superjump:
I have it in my build (And Superspeed!), with Warshades I find taking powers such as Superjump (That don't need any slots whatsoever) are actually useful because they help you out of the slot crunch.
In this build Nebulous Form it does make it redundant, but it isn't always a bad choice. And due to a lack of good early powers I actually have 3 power pool picks by 24, all one slotted to save slots for the important powers. -
Quote:Pretty much, that's my opinion. For blasting needs, I'm going to be in nova, for tanking I'm going to be in dwarf. Once I get my buffs/heal/end/pet/nuke/blow up a body (which is only a few seconds at a time), I'm going back to a form. So, basically, what you all are saying, as I am reading it, is that in a tri-form build, the human form is next to useless. There are a few powers that might be worth taking (like Sunless Mire), but compared to the two other forms, there isn't much worth taking?
Quote:Why Hasten, btw? Does the effect carry over to the forms? -
I don't really know where to post this, so I guess this is the right spot. I should have got my 15 month veteran reward a couple days ago, but I looked at my account and it's saying I won't get it till next month. My 12 month reward was on May 9, but I don't get 15 month till Sep 9.....isn't that 4 months? (account was active whole time between) I got my 3 month last year in may and my 6 month in aug.
Would the free month I got from the AE disc be the problem and not count as paid time? It's saying I have 1 year 3 months of veteran time, but a month less of paid time. Since that was bought/used in between this time, that's all I could think of that might be the problem. -
Well I'm definitely not an expert, but here's a couple things I would change. First of all, slot dwarf mire waaaaay more, it's your aoe in dwarf and it's really nice as it's also a dmg/to-hit buff. Others might not agree, but imho, assault and tactics are near useless on a triform build. More likely than not, you will be in a form most of the time where toggles don't work, then every time you switch back to human will it be worth the time/trouble to toggle them back on? I would recommend replacing one of them w/ hasten.
Here's a quick build I made up to 30. Couple things about it. I took orbiting death because it looks awesome to me and I use it as much as I would either of the other options (not often). I have nebulous form, which you may or may not like. I mostly use it to get some vertical movement w/ ss, but sometimes it's nice to "take the alpha" w/ it and pop mire/eclipse (make sure to turn nebulous off first). Sadly I hardly ever use it as a panic button. Later on I have a few of the human powers slotted more, but imo forms take priority. Feels like you need another 15 or so slots by that level though.

The very first bank mission I ever did solo I got a hero spawn. Though I did die a couple times, it was no more than a boss w/ the hero tag. The bad part is when they show up as an EB when they are actually a hero.
But yea, as far as I know, if the tag doesn't mess up, hero should equal AV. -
Personally, I have two -kb IOs on my /fire scrapper and feel like I get knocked around a lot. Having done tons of fake nemesis and some MA stuff may distort my opinion though. :: Thinks back to that AV w/ FF that made me feel like a ragdoll::
-
I soloed an AV in one of the RWZ missions on my katana/fire scrapper with pretty minimal set bonuses (like 15% or 20% recharge really only thing worth mentioning.....and that's probably not worth mentioning lol). I doubt that I could solo another one though unless pretty much identical to him (w/e the big rikti is). I'm 1 for 1 in my AV killing attempts and that's good enough for me. Considering a lot of EBs can kill or come close to killing me, I'd hate to lower my record.

Here is a video I just made of katana/claw powers if you're still interested. I don't have swipe, but that can be seen at lv 1.

I can't say how survivable fire armor is w/ other stuff, but imo it is great combined with Katana. Divine avalanche is amazing for covering melee/lethal defense (can't say that enough times lol) and for the stuff that does get through, fire armor gives pretty decent resists to cushion the blow (psi is no good though :/ ), and then healing flames to help get you back up.
I would personally recommend FA and Regen over any of the other secondaries for a new player. Having a fast recharge heal is invaluable imho when learning the ropes.

but I'm not sure if FA complements Katana. Thanks

I wouldn't necessarily say FA complements katana, but more katana complements FA really. -

I had those problems solved by running in windowed-maximized mode, instead of fullscreen. Hotfix did nothing, drivers did nothing, just constant dvldblahblah driver broke and is okay now issues. Lots of people have this issue, and those have have solved it personally never have their fixes work for others 100% of the time. So worth a shot I guess.

Trying to play in window mode instead of full screen would be my suggestion to try as well. None of the other suggestions I've seen did anything for me, but changing from full screen to windowed mode took me from getting the driver or w/e stopped responding and recovered every 10-15 mins to getting the problem about once or twice a week.
