Do you want that double or single spaced? This may take a while.

Hey! I've got an idea. If you want to police this section of the forums so badly, apply for a job with NC. Until then...........well I think Foamy covered that.

I gather that if you drain one of whatever it is that Sookie is, you can become a permanent daywalker, which will make her blood so valuable; Russell may use this knowledge to turn the tables once the rest of the vamps come after him.
When I first read this I initially thought, nope no way. Then thinking a bit, I have to say it's a good theory. As Lothic pointed out it's not part of book canon, but it would make sense to the little additions the show has added and it would explain why Claudine was so freaked out about Bill being in "that garden place".

Playing with this theory my guess is that Sookies type (name withheld for spoiler purposes) are are as mythical to vamps as they were to us before the great reveal. They are attracted to their blood by instinct but they don't know why. It would fill in some of the gaps from the books and also explain the catnip like attraction. It would also explain a lot of the tension in future books. I just hope we eventually get Claudine in the real world and not just the "garden place".

Foamy, I like your thoughts here.

It was a naked person eating a deer. That doesn't mean werewolf, just predator or sideshow geek

Of course I only recently bought and read the first 9 paperbacks within the last year. (thanks to interest in the show)
Maybe the latest printed editions cleared up the continuity error about this?

Either way this doesn't seem to be matching what she is on the TV show.
Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I was just addressing your comment "she was one thing" in the books. Kind of a play on words.....well actually she was two things in the books. Sorry wasn't arguing what Debbie is on the show as she has obviously been TVconned into a werewolf.

My contention though, is the HotShot crew are, in fact, going to turn out true to the books.

Not really, all Sam or his brother said is something like, (paraphrased) Do you smell what they are, too? Oh crap.

They haven't come right out and said what it is they are because................................

    (Book spoilers)--------------------------------------

I think they want the audience to assume they are wolves then BOOM someone is going to change into (what they are) and one more layer of the Were onion will be pulled back. If they were wolves I think they would have come right out and either said it or shown it already.

If you think about it the TV show has already apparently redefined Debbie Pelt as far as this goes. In the book it's established that she's one type of thing but in the TV show they've apparently simplified that into making her the same kind of thing as all her friends, if you know what I mean. Maybe they're planning on "simplifying" the Hotshot folks too in the same way. *shrugs*
Actually Debbie Pelt was two different things in the books. (A known continuity error) At first introduction she says she is a Werelynx, then later she is said to be a WereFox. Interesting side note: Charlaine Harris attended Rhodes College in Memphis their mascot....a lynx.

What can I say, Russell's TV debut was masterful. Full-on LOL moment when that happened. So random. So "True Blood". The Urn of Talbot Sludge was a funny yet disgusting touch as well.

I love the fact that Pam (my favorite character from the books) is getting her much deserved screentime this season.

I also love the fact the spokeswoman from the AVL is a total hypocrite......it figures. I like her character though. Her scenes at Fangtasia and her interactions with Eric were fun.

I believe the "payoff" for Jason and Crystals story will be worth it though in the long run. The issue is giving the character something to do for season 3/book 3 (Jason has very little presence in the book) so they took a lot of book 4's story and are using it to set up "what's up for Jason next". I'll leave it at that for you non-bookies.

Personally, I'm not digging Sam's storyline this season.

I also don't care for how they are handling Calvin Norris. (leader of Hotshot) While his people are a bit creepy in the books (but not meth/V dealers), he is never treated as a bad guy. In fact he's downright trustworthy and a helpful ally for Sookie. It's going to be interesting how they turn his character around.......if they do at all.

I really do want to see a showdown with Sam and his brother on one side, and the hillbillie werewolves on the other side.
    Book Spoiler Alert............................................. ..

You do know the Hotshot folks are not werewolves, right? What they are, I'll leave out incase someone accidentally peaks.
  13. Are you only talking early bird for the CoP? Because I may be able to help with redside numbers.

Yeah, I know we have the options, I was agreeing that Leviathan is a strong choice and maybe your best. For APPs......hmmm. I went cold on my Ill/Cold thematic and ice storm with sleet is nice. Psi is nice for clickable mezz protection. Fire for damage and earth for aoe damage/minor control. I will say with an Illusion controller a source for good single target damage is more welcome than aoe. All of the APPs have pretty comparable ST attacks. I like your idea at this point.

2nd question- phantasm is persistent. Spectral terror and phantom army time out. Spectral army is pretty much perma out of the box...but note you can only have one out at a time.
  15. Ok. For a solo build

    Musts-

Blind, Spetral Wounds and confuse early. Phantom army, spooky and phantasm.

Sleet, benumb and Heat Loss. And I think snowstorm is a nice addition for a little extra control.

    Decisions-

Do you want shields for Phantasm's survivability. If you don't what will you replace them with? Team build you obviously want them.

Superior Invisibility v. Arctic Fog: I prefer AF as it does offer some resists and def. With superspeed you have invisibility. YMMV

Frostwork- not so sure it's that important on Phanty, YMMV.

Flash- depending on your settings and recharge in your build whether this is useful or not.

    Likely out-

Group Invisibility No point solo really, IMO.

APP v. Leviathan- Very very tempting. Waterspout is a crazy fun power. I love it on my doms. Yeah, no real strong opinion out of the box, since you are taking them to redside, I'd lean towards Leviathan.

That's all just off the top of my head. Chime in if I missed anything. Hope it helps.

  17. I fell in love with Ele/Rad. Chocking cloud plus conductive aura is quite fun. Opening with the area sleep was very nice solo. The chaining confuse is a nice twist. I'm not 100% sold on Jolting Chain as a control power yet.

Electric overall- Not the most controlling set, not the most damaging set, but I enjoy it.
