Embrace the chaos and use it (wisely) as a source of control. The big downside with ele/storm is the lack of -kb in your cages (thats what make the chain kd power effective), but there are plenty of strong storm controllers that don't have -kb either: Illusion/storm being one. And its a very powerful combo. Just make sure you and your teammates understand how your powers work and how you plan on using them.
Is electric/storm the best powers synergy you can have? No. Will it be fun? Sure! -
Happy to help, it's the Guardian way. Just remember this when you are a vet and a new player comes along looking for help. Pay it forward!

Quote:I just look at confuse as another form of control that will make at least one (or more) of the enemy not attack me. And while you are much more survivable after PA, that doesn't mean deceive doesn't have it's uses. Confusing buffing or debuffing enemies to give YOU their buffs or debuff their friends is a very nice tactic that can really shift the tide of a battle, or produce some good comedy i.e. enemies with hurricane or earthquake or those that spawn pets that turn and attack their maker.I had it for a while. Once I got Phantom Army I stopped using it altogether. I was too busy Blinding and Spec-Wounding to care enough to use it. Once you have your enemies attacking what is essentially a really hard-hitting figment of their imagination, there's no real need to have them attack themselves.

Any chance you are on or going to be on soon, Taliso? In Praetoria right now.

Quote:No, no, no, no..............untrue. Do not be fooled by that old wives tale. This looks like a job for LocalMan...........sound the alert!
Although I really try not to use deceive more than necessary because it gimps my xp.
LOCALMAN! Oh, LOCALMAN!
He has a whole speil on deceive/confuse and XP.
Long story short....as long as you are doing damage to mobs you'll be getting xp just fine. Let a deceived mob do all the damage......sure you'll get less xp, but when are you really going to do that? Confuse is your friend....embrace......love it.....pet it......call it George. -
Welcome to COH and Guardian, we have cookies and bacon. Be careful of Ulli; he'll steal your cookies and Pepsiman; he likes to gnaw on things........and people. If you want to get in on the craziness and meet/team with some people join the global channel: Guardian. It's a great way to find teams or just chat while you play.

Well the little extra information was helpful, because your post just read like people who herd have a terrible playstyle.

That is as gross a generalization as someone kicking a support toon for not being a healer.Did the person by any chance ask you to join his super group first? There is a known, small faction of super group elitists who invite people to team, try to impress them with their 'leet' skills, and ask you if you want to join. If you say no you get kicked, usually with a curt /tell (I got "Disappointing." /kick) I'm not allowed to post the name of the group here. The only thing worse than their manners is their gameplay. I've noticed this lately myself.

Actually its combat jumping that gives immob protection. Acro is hold and knockback protection.

40ish (maybe fewer, maybe more) characters I play on my main server.
Of those
1 widow, 1 bane, 2 controllers use dual builds. That's it. -

Couldn't earth or ice controllers accomplish the same thing with their slows?

Quote:That's pretty much it. And I think it also had to do with dark blast (for blasters) it's corresponding secondary, control, miasma and dom assault and trying not to overlap, etc. I think maybe it was Sunstorm that said it?However, I think I recall a dev mentioning that they hadn't done it in part because they had at some point considered making a Darkness Control primary, and might make a Dark Assault to match, and so they werent sure how any overlap between a Dark primary and secondary might work.
But I might be wrong about remembering that.
Personally, I dont think Dark Control or Dark Assault are needed, and I WAY more want to play Fire/Dark and Illusion/Dark than I would want to play Dark/X.

Edit- Found it! Here
And quoted for the lazy. (This should be stickied at the top of the controller forums along with "Need an uber Fire/Kin build")

So, lets start this with a riddle, since the explanation is just as incomprehensible. Why does Dark Miasma overlapping Dark Control powers make a straight port of Dark Manipulation problematic?
The explanation is, there are a couple powersets that would be sharing an interesting combination of powers. For example, Controllers want Dark Control and Dark Miasma, except Dark Miasma is already a very control heavy set which would supply a lot of Dark Controls powers. Combining Dark/Dark this way could lead to a lot of overalap.
Dominators would want Dark Control and Dark Assault, so Dark Assault would have to be careful not to include control powers from Dark Blast or Dark melee.
Blasters are easier, however the powers that go to blasters would likely be included in Dark Assault, which goes opposite dark control.
Then there are the general AT wide no-no's. Such as: giving armor powers to non-armored classes, or overlapping powers alread in patron pools.
So in the end, it's not designing one powerset. It's designing 3 different powersets:
Dark Control/Dark Miasma for Controllers
Dark Control/Dark Assault for Dominators
Dark Blast/Dark Manipulation for Blasters
Well, that's enough "dark" for several posts. And no, nothing is in the works yet. -

No blind????? Every troller really should take their ST hold ASAP. Heck it sets up containment for your SW. I also really don't understand just taking one of your ally shields? Spectral Terror is really overslotted although I'm sure it's for bonuses. Two invisiblities? Not so sure I'd take a targetted aoe damage power on a troller without some method of setting up aoe containment. Not trying to be snarky, but some of your choices don't make a lot of sense. Is this just an excuse to spend a lot of inf? Trying for perma PA.....did you get it? Will your controller be better all around for doing that? Sorry just a little confused.

Tonight my Dark/Electric defender hit the big 5-0 making the total now 21! Thanks to the folks who stayed on a little long to help me get there and thanks to all the Guardianites I've teamed with on this toon.
Next project: no idea. -

From Wiki:
The Gagasaurus was part of the family Unoriginalis Attentionwhorasaurus known to take on a parasitic mimicry of the Madonnasaurus, a very ancient and dried up species, best know for its desire to bore other dinosaurs in their attempts to act like they mattered more to the ecosystem than they actually did and mate with younger more athletic species like the Yank Arodopolus. Those with trained ears know that neither served to benefit any of the other species as they were really just a bunch of flashy plummage similar to the White Trashodon and tended to have very little purpose, except annoying the other dinosaurs. While most dinosaurs simply ignored the Gagasaurus it was known that they did have an almost symbiotic and devoted relationship with Theatermajorasaurus who seemed drawn to it's fierce and assymetrical plummage and the atonal warbles of the Gaga's mating call.
