  1. I've had a Mind/Sonic since the introduction of sonic, but once she hit 50 she was mothballed due to uber uber clickiness. With the change to individual buffs (i.e. shields) becoming AOE recently she went from uber clicky not-so-fun to a very fun build overnight. She's now sitting at +3 and I'm not reluctant to pull her out now for the occasional TF/iTrial.

And I too, enjoy the rare build. While it can definitely be fun to find powersets that compliment each other, it's also nice to find those outliers that take strategy and out of the box thinking to make work. Sometimes you'll find those are some of the most powerful and fun combos.

Lois and Clark: Get married? Sorry, last season.

    Northern Exposure: Joel and Maggie

    Get Smart: Max and 99

Now admittedly most of these cases were due to the writing becoming so terrible in that final season but that's not how the networks are going to see it. For the executives correlation does equal causation. Create a happy couple and lose the relationship tension and the show will fail.

But in some ways they have a point. The couple getting together and their lives becoming better pretty much equals the "Happy Ending". The key word there being ending. And the shows after that point just wind up feeling like filler and money grubbing.
I'm not asking for kittens and rainbows, just for Chuck to move on past his nerdie insecurities and be the spy he can be. There is still plenty of room for drama and good stories. It's all I'm saying.

  4. Especially on iTrials there are so much barrier and buffs getting thrown around, I really don't see a need for softcapping anyway. That said I'm also very vocal around here that softcapping is far from necessary on controllers in general. It's a neat trick, but I don't think it's worth the expense of influence or at the expense of other aspects that I feel are important (and sometimes lost) in controller builds.
  5. Whether or not you have any ranged damage has little impact on endgame. None of my controllers are softcapped or even attempted capping of defense and they do just fine (even excel) during endgame stuff.

Also...fire? Because that's what you want...ambulatory fire spreaders. Don't forget...there are no more fire departments. Start a fire with no way to keep it contained, plus the fact that the real terror of fire is lost on something that doesn't feel pain nor needs to breathe.
But on the bright side, a flaming zombie can't really sneak up on you.

  10. I'm enjoying both, but it's pretty hard to compare them as while themes may be similar the tone of the two are nothing alike. My initial thoughts:

I was surprised how much I liked Grimm. It's not that I expected it to be bad, I just didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Unlike a lot of people here, I actually bought the lead actor. I loved the atmosphere and how the town has little touches that make it "feel fairy tale-ish". I liked the partner (cop) and the werewolf. It looks like it is going to end up being a complicated relationship, and that's refreshing.

OUAT was pretty much what I expected it to be. I like the lead actress. I don't like the "look" of the real town as much as the one in Grimm. I don't think they have put in the touches to connect the two worlds very well (but that may not be the point either). I'm not crazy about the sheriff in the real world or the Evil Queen in the fantasy world. I don't buy her in that role. I do, however, really like her as the real world mayor. Personally I wish the actress was just a tad older i.e. Madeleine Stowe in Revenge. (What? Yeah I watch that....so sue me.) The role just begs for an actress that carries the weight of the evilness and maybe chew the scenes a little bit more. The actress they have seems to be able to do that much easier in the real world scenes.

But as I said, I like them both and will continue watching.

And the book is very good as well.

I like both versions myself and don't find it sacrelige at all to prefer the US version. I kind of see the movies as identical cousins or different sides of the same coin. But I really wouldn't say one was better than the other.
  13. I wouldn't even mind if there was a way to give the contacts to rogues or vigilantes. It would make sense that they would interact with them, and the player wouldn't have to do the entire morality loop just to get them.

Reminds me when they brought in that big storehouse that Chuck's dad had under the cabin, and then blew it up without using anything in it.
I kind of agree here. This seems to be the theme to Chuck and it's unfortunate. I was glad they finally moved forward with Sarah, now they are going right back to him having insecurities with her because he can't buy her her dream house. Hey Chuck, here's a hint. She's into you. She liked you as a nerd. She liked you as a super spy. She likes you now. We get it, she was out of your league. You've won her over. And now the show is doing the same thing with him in general. Strip him of his powers, money, etc. Make him insecure again, cause Chuck can't be happy and confident. People won't like that!

    Hint: yes we will.

Mine will probably turn 41 tonight and I'm loving it as well. /Time works so well with Illusion, both in making what's already good better and filling in holes where it's lacking. I'm really really enjoying this combo.

It's worth the fact that he's the writer of the source and an executive producer of the show. He makes the rules. He's said, zombies prefer live flesh. We can argue all we want on what is true or not, but I'll take it from the guy himself.

Kirkman is an exec producer of the show.

I believe the reason he didn't instakill Otis with a head shot is the zombies prefer live meat and wouldn't stop for a "dead-dead" body with fresh meat in view.

Earth: Lovely meal, tons of potential but it is no Snarfloo.

I recently made a trip to the outer edge of that quaint little galaxy: the Milky Way. And while many of us would consider the MW to be primitive, let me just say they may be on the forefront of the next great intergalactic culinary trend.

Let's start off with the basics. It's a mixed water and terrestrial planet of moderate climates with water in all three forms and carbon based life forms which means only one thing: SURF AND TURF!!! The seafood of it's saltwater oceans was a bit of a mixed bag. While I really enjoyed the vertebrate "fish" especially ones called tuna and snapper, I was a little taken aback by what the Earthlings call "shellfish" or as I like to say: Aunt Grubin'lik and Unkle Arfleloop. Nope, nuh huh. While I've eaten some strange things in my days, I was not about to revert to what seemed like canabalism at the "All you can eat shrimp" at Red Lobster. It's genocide!

Plant life on Earth was plentiful and wildly diverse, but due to my simple stomach I found the fibrous nature of their foods too hard to digest and later learned the term: the Green Apple Quickstep. It's not their fault, so it won't reflect poorly on my review. Glarnokstians, you've been warned. Don't eat the fruit!

But the beauty, the area where Earth absolutely shines is their terrestrial fair. What lovely diversity of walking and flying epicurian treats. I first tried an avian species known as the turkey, named after a country (I believe at least) that ironically doesn't seem to have any of the birds. While if cooked improperly can be dry as cotton; in the right hands can be a very nice vessel for bigger flavors and takes well to a sauce Earthlings call gravy and a form of vegetation known as the Stuffing. (How quaint) Next was a wonderful snout nosed monster known as the pig, or as I like to call: source of bacon. What a glorious beast! All the portions so full of lucious fat and sweet sweet muscle tissues. Grilled, fried, smoked, boiled even raw these things just taste good! If you are ever in the outer branches of the MW, you have to try one of these beasts! Intergalactic tip: find a place they call "The South" and ask for a race of beings they call Red Head/Torso Connectors and ask them for what they call Barbie Queue. Make sure and ask for all the "fixin's" which seems to be their version of Valu'sian Moplotka, without the bitter aftertaste of Yar'platan paprika which is so last millenium anyway. Lastly, I tried what many on the small blue planet consider it's delicacy. A large bovine creature they refer to as the Beef animal. Very tasty and very flavorful. We dissected and sampled these suckers for weeks all over the planet and loved what we found. We were a little disconcerted by the displeasure of a race of Earthlings they called Farmers, who seemed to have a penchant of discharging carbon based explosive weaponry at their diners. And while this may be exciting for the lower based life forms of Planet Earth, it wasn't exactly the type of excitement this Pleiadian was looking for on a night out with the Mrs.

Overall a tasty stop if you are ever in the area. I predict great things in the future for this little blue planet and it's yellow sun. Give the pig or beef a try if your invasions ever take you a few intergalactic units away from the quaint, but primitive destination.

    Three stars.

(Oh and one more thing. The beings there don't seem nearly as accepting of probings. You've been warned.)

    Solo solo solo!

    There was a discussion here.

If that helps. It does seem like a good anti-"hard single target" combination. End management will be the issue given it doesn't have +recovery or +end powers like /rad or /cold.

I slightly disagree here. Shane was just as slow as Otis was due to his leg. Together the two of them were too slow to get away, but making a distraction like a tasty chubby farmhand meal would give Shane the time and distance to escape.

  24. I have to say I really liked Grimm. Close enough to be familiar, but a nice modern twist. It was neat how they gave a modern city a storybook feel.
