Or, hey, just color code the map. We don't have any "general purpose" rooms (the closest is the oversight center, and even that's listed as "control,") so make control rooms show one color on the map, power another, workshops, etc.

And if a bit of snark makes me a moron, well, continuous hounding while making assumptions I've actually seen something and trying to play "forum mom?" Hmm....

    So, for the OP:

    Check your PM.

    Do note three things:
    1. I never mentioned a thing about post count, which seems to be your specific beef in your post.
    2. I had specific reason for pointing out the reg date - that in my case it *is* fairly accurate and that I'm willing to give the benefit of that to others, and asking the OP if he wants to ignore that or not. (Especially given that I have tried to help him in the past, as well.)
    3. I acknowledge that it tends to mean nothing and specify why in this specific part of the quote:

Or the one where your ego wouldn't allow you to admit you might have jumped the gun with your self-righteous response?

You have YET to acknowledge the apology in any way...
I have, and even offered my own apologies in return.

I may not be anybody's mother here, but I take pride in the CoH "friendly community" reputation we've garnered. So, when I see this kind of arrogant behavior, I sure as heck will not sit quietly.
For someone not trying to be someone's mother, you're sure trying to do a good job of it. Ego has nothing to do with it. And as far as an apology, gracious or otherwise, to me specifically? Where?

(Edit: Ah. Different thread entirely. Which, being irritated with the OP, I wouldn't have read. Very hard to acknowledge something *you haven't seen,* wouldn't you agree?)

Plus, of anyone right now, you shouldn't be calling anyone out on being self-righteous, ol' Pot.

Common courtesy would not have generated the comment in the first place. Now, shall we continue going 'round about this, or let an already dead issue be?

I read from where I last posted, and seeing that reaction to giving *help* rather pissed me off.

    Two words.
    Cottage rule.

The last time they tried replacing powers, they were nearly lynched. You'll note we now have *five* powers in the APP/PPPs.

You did not say whether your 50 was red side or blue side. You have Heats or veats to play with now. They really do play differently from the standard AT's. Just remember that the "Epic" is in the story line and not in the AT's themselves.
Note those unlock at 20 now, not 50.

Go up to player questions. Honestly, I know you've only been around for a short time, but even in *that* amount of time you should have seen the longer-time vets have almost a good natured "race" to answer questions. (Just look for - almost any thread where Aett_Thorn replies, for instance.)

In addition, I had more details on some things, and so felt an additional answer would be useful. Would you like more information, or just a quick, vague answer? There's not a question of "outdoing" anyone. It's a matter of different perspectives and differing amount of information. I've been involved in base raids, though not for a while. I maintain and expand bases.

If Dechs has an issue with it, know what'll happen? There'll be a discussion either in PMs or, more likely, in the thread. Which means, horror of horrors, there will be even MORE information given! More people may learn *even more!*

Now. Look to the left. See that reg date? I don't normally bother with them, since people can leave and come back, or not come on the forums for a while (or ever.) However, for me it's pretty accurate. I've been playing *consistently* since then (actually since Feb 2005 instead of March, but close enough.) I *predate* bases and global names. I predate villainside and PVP. Would you like to actually have me answer with that degree of experience, or would you prefer getting pissy over getting more information? If the second, I'll just say "Go here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page and don't ask anything that's covered there" and leave it at that.

For future reference, that *is* me getting rude, which I'd call perfectly justified in this case. Me answering a question? That tends *not* to be.

    At this time, no.
    Quote:
Second: What exactly is Control and Power used for?
Most non-decorative items require some degree of power and control for them to work. It's also what's turned off to make your base non-functional if you don't pay rent. As you build the base, you'll see (in item info) if something has a control and/or power cost, and what it is.
    Quote:
Third: What exactly do raids mean? I know this game doesn't have the kind of raids that WoW does so please enlighten me.
Raids aren't enabled at the moment. No idea when they will be. It's base PVP.
    Quote:
Fourth: What's the best method of recruiting?
Invite friends. Invite players that work well with you. Mention it in your server section that you have a new SG. DO NOT broadcast in zone.
    Quote:
Fifth: What's the difference between each of the rooms?
More data required. They're different sizes, shapes, and cost. They hold different items. The info is there in the base editor.

First - did you go through all the storyarcs, or kind of rush to get to 50? The reason being - the game's primarily in the 1-49 range, with all the storyarcs, task forces, etc.

However, now that you're 50, there are things to do:
    - Roll an alt. The archetypes, and even the primaries/secondaries inside, play very differently.

    - Improve the 50. Did you work on sets? Make your character more powerful! 50s have great earning power. Run task forces, run old missions, run newspapers, run on raids, get the INF and run wild on the market. Or just tweak the build.

    - Create AE arcs with custom enemies *just* to attack where you're weak, and beat them.

    - Get ready for Issue 19, when the Incarnate system rolls around... designed for 50s.

    - Use Ouroboros. Go visit the content you missed.

    - Mothership raid. Hami raid. Pan... er, wait..

    - Find the PVP community. Make a second PVP specific build.

    - RP. You have the time.

    - Badge hunt.

    DB Servers?

The DB/map server and login server won't show on the server status page.
  13. What kind of budget?

Track down FatherXmas's posts, look at his ... $600 or $700 machine. Are you looking at "snappy" or "snappy in ultra mode?" We can track down a $600 machine - or a machine with a video card that costs $600 on its own, after all.

This the laptop you're talking about?

Of course, you can't have those without one of these to lead them:

You could do some interesting things with cooling, I'm sure, though. (And really, if you're going to mod a system with a COH theme... it should run COH. )

    Other options:
    - Architecture - Freedom Corps building (Galaxy,) City Hall (Atlas,) Cole's tower (Praetoria.) Though they're rather straightforward.

    - Statesman's helmet. Poke him in the eye to turn the system on.

    - Recluse's helmet. For the glowy bits.

    - Nemesis mole machine.

    - The Air Raiders offshore base in Sharkhead. Not as iconic, but it's there.

    - A jump bot. (rather narrow, though - maybe built around a nettop.)

    - Kronos titan. (Actually, any Malta titan would probably be among the easier ones to scratchbuild.)
  16. One or two people? No. That's what player notes are for.

If I see a group of people from the same SG acting a certain way? Then I avoid that SG.

Only times I tend to leave an SG are if it dies (even if it's "active," if nobody acknowledges anyone else, it's dead to me,) or if the direction the group takes changes drastically (and I think I've only done that once - went from a fun, friendly VG to a "prestige farm" mentality. With the same leaders.)
  17. Welcome in.

Try the Server forums, don't just settle on Freedom or Virtue. Everyone tends to have events, different community focuses, etc. Find one that fits. Or just try them all.

First AT-wise... my first 50 was a blaster. *shrug* It's fun, but you're squishy. Roll one, roll a Scrapper, roll a Brute (villainside.) Go ahead and roll another tank - at level 10, you unlock dual builds and can put a little more emphasis on one thing or another (tanking/aggro holding vs damage/your own survival.)

Try a mastermind. Try a Dominator.

Try everything. Spend a few hours in the costume creator. Remember, your look has nothing to do with your ability. Wings don't let you fly, Fly lets you fly. Hover lets you fly much slower.

Epic ATs unlock at 20. Ignore them for a while while you get your feet wet.

Read through your story arcs as you play.

    Have fun.

/this, more than anything. Especially reading the OP - "you pop two yellows and..." Or the ever popular after-issue-release "Did the devs nerf accuracy?" You're suddenly paying more attention, and notice the misses far more.
  19. Didn't we have this argument recently?

Anyway. For regular DO/SOs - Here.
  20. Yeah, I think that's the most I've seen at some point - graphics painted/glued/etc. on a case.
  21. Memphis_Bill

    Mind/Emp

Just as a side note -

If you find yourself soloing a bit more, don't forget dual builds. Empathy's a nice secondary to have to free things up in the controller's primary on a solo build - you obviously don't need teammate buffs in those situations, and can move slots around, experiment with other pools, go for concept, etc.

With Mind/ as a primary, you won't even be missing out on the "I could buff my pets with this" of other /emp controllers.

Might be because I don't have Steamy Mist (my reason: yet another toggle. Had it at one point, then dropped it faster than my END bar. >.> ) One quick END hit works for me. But that's why the YMMV. Season to taste and all that.(Edit: And what the heck, say hi.)
  23. Add "The log in server" to the list of things having issues, then - same here. (And I know I don't have a firewall issue or the like.)

Edit: And two minutes later, fine.
  24. South Korea is fine.

NORTH Korea... now, that's heavily restricted. Though I hear City of Our Glorious Leader is popular there. No, has nothing to do with Emperor Cole.
