Try running the nclauncher as admin,or have it check the game files

well seeing as i came here becouse of the connection problem,and got in first try after modifying the shortcut i whould motion towars "it does work" ^^

I thought that the slotting whould be a problem aswel ,but if you look at it from another angle it might cause things to get stirred up a bit.
before ed slotting was a nobrainer ,not that it did not require thought ,just that everyone knew exactly how to slot their build for max gain.
when the sets arrived they negated alot of what the devs originaly intended to do with ed (more variaty in enhancement) ,so again people started picking powers for how they could be enhanced instead of picking the powers they want and personalising them.
people simply dont take powers anymore unless they can be maxed out (the world is big ,exceptions are out there ^^)
the game is just a bit "steamroll them blindfolded" atm,and eather they make the mobs stronger or they nerf us,i think this wasent a bad way to go about making the game more challenging ^^
ps:i know the op is asking for more slots but just be honnest and say you want enought to sixslot everything,if you need enhancements at lvl 3 your doing something wrong
i whent cheap on my traps/dp def and dident enhance thil i was 32 -
missions wont change tho,so in reality the borderline psychopath will be saving kittens and "arresting" the criminals,i dont read the mission descriptions or clues so at least that part i can fill in myself ,i chose the animations as an example becouse it is the one thing you cant realy missunderstand,people falling over can be dead and not arrested,a y pose is a y pose eather way you look at it ^^
i like the rogue system becouse it allows me to create characters more specificaly,a ninja scrapper just doesnt get the feel right as much as a stalker does etc -
The point of the post was not power animations per se,that was a example (said so too
) of why their new advertisement plan was rubbing me the wrong way.
And i understand time ,funding and manpower problems ,hell even wow with its billions of income cant manage to give any race more then two cast animations.
i did play champions ,for a whole of two weeks after launch,i am however on my 51'th month vet badge so if i'm playing favorites my credit card has a wierd way of showing it ^^,sofar i have played dark age of camelot,rising force online,world of warcraft,warhammer,cabal online,champions and city of hero's,i left champs becouse of the crummy content and bad team setup but i did apriciate the fresh look they had on character creation and power animation,i'm not trying to fanboy it
I dont play videogames to "pretend" or "imagine" things happen magicaly,i can do that in real life.
i did not mean to flame,flamebait,put down or belittle eather the game or the devs i merely wished to voice an opinion about a statement i conciderd to be false ,and do so to a crowd more apropriate then people with no knowledge of the game.
To put things in perspective ,i have a nack for sarcasm and humor and all my english is self taught,i do try to spellcheck some things i'm sure of are completely wrong but why dont you try speaking and spelling four languages perfectly and let me know how that works out for you ^^ -
now before we get started let me say this first,i like this game,made alot of good friends playing it,but i did find myself leaving from time to time for one particular reason.
eather they underestimate people's imagination ,or they are arogant enough to asume that if they put something in the game it and it only is the way a hero should go about things.
i like super hero's ,i like the lore,concept and thought that go's with them ,and so the idea of a game where i could create my own "brainchild" and fight the forces of do no good with it are verry apealing to me.
but they are selling the genre extremely short with the rather strick set of restrictions they impose on our capability to create characters,and before you say no two hero's in this game are the same alow me to elaborate.
we get the choice of gender,rudementry but adequate controll of physical apearance,a verry varied amount of costume options,we can choose an origen,two powersets and a name.
what we get from this freedom is a bipedaled,uprightwalking humanoid with a symetrical costume.
now this alone shouldent pose a problem,the options are varied and indeed no two costumes are alike.
moving on to powers and origen is where it all kind of falls apart to me,for example:
i have a magic origen fire/therm controller,great fun all in all but the thing that bothers me is that there is absolutely nothing magic about her,when she summons imps it whould be nice if she could do it in a simular fashion to demon summoning and not make it look like i'm about to burst out into a YMCA dance ^^
if she were a mutant the imps could spawn from a fire consuming her body.
if you make a sword scrapper with a rapier it whould be fun if her moves had more grace then the hulk having a field day
see where i'm going with this ?
what use is it to spend your time thinking of a cool concept when every move you end up making is genericaly the same as everyone else.
i kinda feel they are to hung up on the apearant importance of how your char looks while the super part of a super hero is not the costume,its the powers.
"we're taking the game to the next level" should be "we improved upon cov's resolution and added just about as many new powersets",still the rogue system is an awesome feat and since it means that you can change just about everything about your character save for what i just mentioned there is hope ^^
To end please dont think i wana see this game end,or expect me to make any wild "this game sucks i'm canceling my account" claims,most of it is a direct result from just having watched the lasted video,my burning hatred toward missadvertisement and yearning for more dept of character beond tights or skirt. -
i've recently been playing my traps/dp alot and some of the general things i've notice are stamina is a blessing and timebomb a source of endless frustration ^^
since you dont have any active heals and most of your other powers are fire and forget you tend to trap up and lay down the hammer,since defender hammers arent that big tho youl need alot of ammo
i took the aid pool personaly becouse i found it more reliable then heal beacon,and took tp foe to one two a priority mob into a mine and sands of mu ^^
use ice bullets with hail after a posiontrap and watch your team waltz em down,take drones for the alpha absorb,mortar is a tank
i dont think i skipped any powers in my secondary,left out grenade,heal and bomb from primary -
i tried that buy putting down mine,then time bomb and tping a foe onto the mine,i think its only set off by enemy aoe's

well as a temporate fix they could actualy do the assualt rifle adaption,i mean yes they whouldent do energy damage but am i the only one that doesnt care per se what kind of damage my attacks do ?

well using invis other on th ff gen is a interesting idea,i dont know if they whould actualy pass it up but on the other hand it whould at least provide it with additional defence ^^

well the mass shutdown powers dont match the concept ,but still my complaints about having to take another power to cover weaknesses in the one your trying to use stand
i have used it effectively in teams since toebombing comes as a second nature,its my second traps char,just that last time i dident take time bomb becouse the bots coudletn herd ,well they can but then they knock em back away so its kind of a mute point
its indeed just a "look at this" power atm,but its one i like,altho might respec out of it unthil any changes are made,just wanted to start discussion (again prolly) to see if we couldent spark any dev into action on fixing this ^^ -
I've been playing around with a traps /dp defender lately,i took a shot at time bomb but sofar i'm finding it to be a little...unwhieldy.
the power itself is great,you put down explosives and they go boom in an aproperiatly grand fashion but the mechanics bother me a bit,the placing seems to take ages and after that its sheer guess work and a little luck to pull it off propperly.
Now it has been suggested to me that i should take stealth to be able to place it near enough to do some damage but if i have to take another power to make this work i'd rather it came included with the package,that when you take time bomb you get the actual bomb power and a remote detonator that whould be grayed out unthil the package is on the ground,when its in place you flip the switch when you deem it to be most effective.
They could still make it so the bomb automaticaly detonates if you attempt to put a second one down,like force field gen does ,and while annoying i can live with the activation time since it is in essence a second nuke power,i just whould love to have a little more controll over this thing besides putting it down and hoping that in a fiew seconds eather i or the tank can herd enough people there for it to do its job ^^

been having alot of fun with tp foe on my traps defender,eather tp a running mob onto some caltrops or a mine,or if you have the patience for it,plant three mines and tp a foe ontop of them,select your attack of choice as a followup...mayhem guaranteed

i dont understand the bad reputation on some trap powers,my gun/trap def is 29 atm and i got there without any enhancements,better yet i got there quite comfortably
i'm taking the leadership pool allowing me to leave +acc enhancements out of my attacks and free's up slots for better recharge on essential powers and some more regen out of health combined with beacon.
strangely enough the power i use the least is caltrops,if i get overwhelmed i put down beacon and mortar and have it tank a little,i have sofar encounterd precious little need to jump around like a rabbit animal
In a team all you realy use (save for bosses,av's etc) is ffg,as far as i am concerned traps does not focuss on the actual BOOM,the rest of the team can do that,but instead you are a tideturner when things take a nosedive -
As a swords and naruto enthusiast i am offended by your statement and char bio
so leme put this in terms you can deal with,the case example is a knife.
any motion you make in a fight where your body is part of the engagement is conciderd melee,the weapon you use is designed to amplefy the damage you do with your attack but that does not change the basic nature of your attack,a fist with a knive in it does not suddenly become a ranged attack.
throwing it will put the knive in a ballistic path toward your enemy and that whould render it a ranged attack but in no way can a weapon achieve a ballistic path while it is still in the hands of the user (for the antboners,yes you hold a gun but technicaly the bullet is the weapon and the gun the delivery system)
it is true that weapons like swords alow you to establish a defencive disteance from your target but so does a sniper rifle and i think we can agree the idea just isent the same.
some of my chars have a naruto background aswel but by reading your bio i kinda see why you wont back down,instead of working within the context of the naruto lore you just invented a bloodline that has all the advantages of both other eye styles and on top made them immune to the two others.
let it go,you cant have everything your way and unless they are going to change the verry nature of things becouse you told em.
personaly i am looking for a way to play ice on a dom becouse i like the swords and i whould love to play a ninja mm but i dont agree with the oni so i dont play it,but who am i to force changes to something other people may enjoy verry much
