Yeah there are some potential balance issues but I think that they can be worked out based on what you have listed below. Limiting the mitigation to one specific type at a time goes a long way towards balancing the set. I can also foresee slotting being a concern and while dual builds would help in this respect; the idea was to allow a player to switch between Armor Conditioning on the fly, not once every X minutes if they go and talk to a contact. Once again though, the binary nature of your revamp makes it possible to 3 slot each power for either form of mitigation. The downside is that you would have to sacrifice numbers for either Fossilize or Reinforce in order to slot the armors for endurance reduction.

    Tier 1: Carapace
    Toggle, 0.2 end/second **Special
    *Res: +25% vs Smash/Lethal, +20% vs Toxic
**Def: +16% vs Smash/Lethal, +4% vs Neg Energy

    Tier 2: Marrow Coating
    Toggle, 0.2 end/second **Special
*Res: +30% vs Neg Energy, +15% to Fire/Cold/Energy/Toxic
**Def: +16% vs Cold/Energy/Neg Energy, +10% vs Fire

    Tier 3: Bone Shrapnel
    Toggle, .85 end/sec ***Special
Damage Lethal: pulses 2sec upon receiving dmg based on current HP after that period. Scale dmg improves with lower health
**Additional 10ft dmg pulse upon death
***Additional 15ft pulse with Bone Avatar activated

    Tier 4: Bone Plates
    Toggle, 0.2 end/second **Special
*Regen: Scaling +regen that improves with lower health.
**Res: Scaling +res that degrades with lower health.

    Tier 5: Internal Plating
    Toggle, 0.2 end/sec
Res 12 Mag protection against Hold, Immob, Stun, KB, Confusion
    Regen +200% (enhanceable)

    Tier 6: Calcify
    Click, 10 endurance cost
Self 25% +Heal, 100% +Regen, +10 mag mez protection vs Sleep (Energize Clone -Endurance Discount traded for a 15sec longer +regen duration)

Tier 7: **Armor Conditioning: Fossilize; *Armor Conditioning: Reinforce
    Toggles, 0 endurance cost
Fossilize is the +def option, Reinforce is the +res option

    Tier 8: Bone Cage
    Toggle .75% end/sec
(Clone of Personal Force Field but you can't move with this on)

    Tier 9: Avatar of Bone
Toggle compound endurance cost .22 end/sec + .22 end/sec after 20 sec(not affected by endurance discounts) + 1.22 end/sec after 60 sec (also not affected by endurance discounts)

Summons 3 destructible bone pets that follow you and share your damage. They are continuously summoned after defeat with a 10sec pulse. Each has a weaker version of Bone Shrapnel so will pulse damage when they take damage.
Also, while Avatar of Bone is toggled, your Bone Shrapnel power is improved.
I like this version Avatar of Bone idea, though I would call it Ossiform or Bone Golem and limit it to one “pet”. Visually I see some sort of random collection of bones thrown together to form a multi-legged creature; something more alien and drone-like rather than a homunculus that can be anthropomorphized.

This is a fair statement. The only issue, IMO, is the animation and stance that comes with Ninja Run. Adding some customization that allowed you to change the stance and run animations would help in that respect. Random flip animations would be cool as well but probably a nightmare to code. Maybe alternate flip animations that played depending on a direction change while jumping? Of course this all might be a coding nightmare but I thought I would mention it anyway.

That just seems a bit too extreme.
It's not really about a copyright thing, it's more about the association. Superman was famous enough for changing in phone booths that the correlation is easy to see.

I never assumed that my golden age, natural origin hero, Red Jackal, was taking a direct hit with rockets because it was fairly obvious he would not survive it. In my mind the explosion always happened relatively close and he suffered shrapnel, fire and concussive damage. Yes I realize that the animation shows Red Jackal actually being hit with a rocket but to quote Adam Savage, "I reject your reality and substitute it for my own."

    Bone Armor

I had a thought for a "unique" mechanic for this set. Taking a page from the new Dual Pistols set add in a power that changes the type of damage mitigation used by the base armors. By changing the density and composition of your armor you can choose between resistance, defense or regen or base options on some combination of the three. I think this would be great to tailor your mitigation for certain circumstances like AVs and GMs. It would also allow for some variety within the set itself.

Kilts, extreme chest enhancement and pink costumes aside the huge model still has that all too obvious male triangular torso. Now if the body mod allowed you to increase or decrease curves to the hips you could possibly make a passable huge female in conjunction with allowing female faces on the huge models.

IMO, a character’s origin should be associated with the major source of their powers. Travel powers can be related to a characters origin but do not have to be and should not define the nature of their core abilities.

The Hulk’s powers are of science origin and his super strength allows him to leap great distances. This is an example of an origin related travel power. To take away the super leap you would need to take away his super strength.

Spider-Man’s powers are also of science origin but he travels via the technological wonder of the web slingers which he designed. This does not make Spider-Man a technology origin hero since taking away his web slingers does not remove his strength, agility or Spider-Sense. (I’m talking the original irradiated spider origin story folks, not the Peter Parker with arguably impossible organic spinnerets)

Yeah, I pictured the set being resistive backed up by regeneration. Basically the bony plates shatter, crumble or drop off as they are damaged only to be quickly replaced or regrown. Of course at higher levels you start running into things that have enough front loaded damage to make resistance and regen less dependable so adding a small amount of enhanceable defense would be helpful.

But how about this for the Tier 8:

    Retributive Shatter

While this power will not protect you from dying, nor bring you back, it can be an agent of pain for whoever brings you close to defeat. As you die, your bone armors shatter in a spectacular fashion, damaging all foes around you.

Type: Not sure on this, because a passive might not work with the tier 9 almost killing you, and I don't want it to be able to work with Self Destruct. But it should be on the rest of the time for free.
Effect: Damage similar to Soul Drain, but activated upon death automatically, and does not Rez you.

Another thought for a Tier 8 power

    Resorption

    Type: Toggle, 0.2 end/second
    Defense: DEF(All) +5%
    Foe: -Res(All) -25% for 0.75s
    Range: 8 ft

Your powers require massive amounts of bone tissue and calcium, so much so that your body exudes a cloud of airborne osteoclasts capable of drawing the required materials directly from the environment around you, including the bones of your enemies. All enemies affected by the cloud will be more susceptible to damage as their bones become more brittle. The resorption process also coats your bone armor in a thick layer of enamel affording you greater defense in combat.

Why not do something like Vengeance without the defense for the Avenger? Give it a bar to build and when it is fully charged you gain a click power that will give yourself and your teammates a to hit buff, a damage buff and mez resistance for 30 seconds.

Interesting Idea, although my thought would be to have a Defender-like option with full team support, but being a melee oriented AT rather than Blasting. I like blasting, but not so much that I want EVERY defender I make to be a ranged toon. It would be nice to have a mix of melee and ranged support characters to choose from. As it stands now, every support character that I have (Controllers, Defenders) uses ranged attacks. There really is no melee option for combining with Forcefields, Radiation, Dark etc...
Fair enough, a Brawler archetype would offer some indirect team support in the form of enemy debuffs but it's primary function is that of a front line melee archetype rather than the support role you have in mind.

This sounds like a very cool idea! It would work well from a thematic standpoint with Spines and Dark Melee!

  16. I personally have found myself utilizing Ninja Run for some of my natural heroes. The constant Snidely Whiplash/Count Dracula pose while standing still with the power active can be rather distracting though and also tends to break the immersion for me.

It would be nice if Ninja Run allowed for some other poses/animations but I don't see the developers committing time and resources to upgrade a booster pack power. Still if there are nigh insurmountable obstacles to things like swinging or vehicles it would make sense to try and provide another non booster pack option for "natural travel" that doesn't break the game engine.

  17. Interesting suggestion but I tend to agree that a phone booth costume change is a bit too specific. What I would like to see them use is something like the alternate Foot Stomp animation where your character punches the ground with the addition of a small explosion of light just before the costume switch.

Oooo! Or even a simple finger snapping animation.

    HIT POINTS : Medium
DAMAGE : Medium (Damage at Tanker strength)
INHERENT: The Avenger’s ability to shrug off attempts to control his actions comes in the form of a “Fury” type effect. As this “Fury” builds he/she becomes more resistant to most Status effects.
This effect would start at zero and build up during combat based on damage sustained to both the Avenger’s team and to the Avenger themselves.

This Archetype has always been one that I have had a great desire to see implemented. The Melee-Defender is a non-existent “entity” and any attempts to create a “Pseudo-version” are extremely limited. The nature of “Support” powers in general would seem to make it less powerful to combine with attacks that “require” you to be in melee range but I think most support sets are very capable in melee range. This is also why I believe very strongly that the Hit Points need to be on-par with Scrappers/Blasters AND that some means of making this AT more scrapper-like is needed (better damage than defenders baseline and/or Status protection). Due to balance considerations, this could require the Buff/Debuff values reduced to Corruptor/Controller levels. As far as a team role, this would be another flavor of a support character who specializes in getting into melee instead of ranged assault.
I suggested something similar in another thread that was more combat oriented with the buffs being self buffs only.

Have you considered any extra travel powers with-in the game?

[Castle] As a matter of fact, we always discuss new travel powers and had a meeting this morning to discuss this. (NOTE: To clarify, there are no new travel powers planned for Going Rogue!)

Any chance of getting a hint of which travel powers are discussed most often?

  20. The system that is currently in place for slotting enhancements has always been a fairly slow and cumbersome system. This is especially true when a player hits level 22 and a player is required to slot the majority of their current enhancements a minimum every 5 levels thereafter.

We go to a store or vendor, sell off any enhancements we may be carrying, tally up which enhancements we need, search for the appropriate enhancements amidst a list of often hard to read icons and then switch back and forth between screens as we slot our powers at a rate of 10 enhancements per cycle.

I would like to see the interface changed so that a player can select "Ask about store" at a store or vendor and be presented with their normal enhancement screen. Interacting with any enhancement slot (hover, right click, etc.) would then open a pull-down menu that displays icons for only the enhancements eligible for the power in question that are offered by the current store or vendor. Hovering over the icons would result in a brief summary of the enhancement in question and a simple left click would be required to complete both the purchase and slotting.

It's very much like the interface used by Mid's Hero Designer and makes slotting powers a breeze!

Yes and no, a player can still earn debt after level 50 and paying off that debt will slow down their influence gain. This is not an argument against the idea of reducing the number of debt protection bonuses in high level sets, it is merely an observation.

There are not any that I would want to slot all of, in these power sets. Assassin Strike doesn't have any of its own enhancements and has a lot of potential.

Not saying it has to be like the purple sets or PvP sets. Just some new ones with better secondary powers.

Like less debt protection in level 50 enhancements. Having a character at level 50, I tend not to think about accumulating debt. Actually look forward to some of it, as to work on the debt badges. So seeing debt protection in sets that can be slot at power level 50, is a turn down for me.

Some may like the old enhancements as they are, I feel that more can be done. I would like to see more secondary powers as more stun protection, minor knockback protection, increased recover, res. to damages and/or def. to damages, or increase in damage or accuracy.

    What does everyone else think?
I have to wonder why you are suggesting a new enhancement specific to Assassin Strike. I am admittedly not all that Stalker savvy but what would the new enhancement offer over and above the endurance reduction, accuracy, damage and recharge enhancements that are currently available?

This was my thought as well after reading through the set, energy damage should be a decided weakness. I would also opt for a name change from Phantom Aura to Phase Aura, Phase Armor or Phase Defense in order to keep it more generic. For that matter you could just call it Phase.
