  1. Acknowledging the introduction with a nod, Phoenix replied in a quiet voice. "'m'Jane. And I was just doing my job. Or trying to, to be honest I had no idea what was happening, just tried to stop it-"

She was abruptly interrupted by the appearance of what looked rather like another Ellie. Holding a hand up in an attempt to placate the newcomer's barrage of questions, she reactivated the eyepiece and ran a quick scan, the computer identifying the colours and displaying its stored information on the Unity Vigil.

Detaching the little gadget from the earpiece, she cleared a small patch of ground and made a few practised adjustments, boosting the power of the display and enabling it to project an image into the air. Pulling the recording from the computer, she looked up at the other-Ellie and tapped the green button.

"See for yourself, if you can wait that long."

The eyepiece on the ground beeped and began displaying the recordings, a flickering image hanging in the air a metre above: the Freaks, the building collapse, Ellie's emergence from the rubble, the gas-grenade and the confrontation between Ellie and Phoenix.

Scooping the piece up again, she hooked it back into place and glanced back at the newcomer

    "Good enough?"
  2. Nodding to herself at the sound of ambulance sirens getting closer, Phoenix uncoupled the computer from her belt and brought it up so she could see the screen, a small box floating to one side of the eyepiece showing the recording of the past few minutes, flowing graphs flickering to its right.

Damn... that's a hell of a reading. I don't like that it's suddenly vanished. Can I isolate that, I wonder?

Tapping rapidly on the base unit''s touch-screen, she watched impatiently as the readings were compared to their current level, the processor hunting for differences in energy type and level between the former state and the current one and laying out the results in a new graph, a red warning box flashing excitedly.

Eyes widening slightly at this, she tapped the computer again, linking it to the network and streaming the isolated data to Sunstorm and the FA's databanks.

Raising a hand to her ear again as the medics arrived and began to fan out across the scene, she linked into the FA comms and spoke directly to the AI.

"351, data packets incoming. I want this incident analysed, top priority. If this happens again, I don't want to be caught off-guard. I don't care who you have to hack to get the information you need, just do it. Oh, and if you beat Sunstorm's lot to a conclusion they'll be a bonus in it for you."

Clicking off the comms, she stood slowly, stretched and surveyed the scene, the eyepiece retracting and snapping shut as she secured the computer back onto her belt.

Who the hell did this? Who was that guy on the rooftop? What the hell just happened? Too many questions, not enough answers.
  3. Smirking with no small amount of relief and shaking her head slowly, Phoenix stepped forward, kneeling next to the prone form to check her vital signs, eyepiece running deeper scans and recording its results to the computer..

"Little dramatic, but works for me..."

Raising a hand to her ear, she spoke quickly and quietly into the tiny mic as she worked.

"Cancel that containment call, gas has been dealt with. Get some medical support out here, we got at least one Peacebringer unconscious and if any of those Freaks survived this they're gonna need it too."
  4. Standing her ground as flying shards of concrete fizzled out of existence against her shield, Phoenix called out to the figure again, wincing as a bolt of energy blasted the ground an inch from her toes.

"You are obstructing the containment of a major chemical weapon. On the authority of the Peacebringer Army I demand that you identify yourself and stand down!"

    C'mon... give me something.

Above, something distant was buzzing, thumping. Shaking her head rapidly in an attempt to clear the sound, she realised that she wasn't imagining it, an electric shock coursing down her spine as she realised what the sound was.

Aw, hell. Tell me the press weren't retarded enough to send a chopper here...
  5. Standing silently on her rooftop, Phoenix watched as the sickly green gas ballooned outward and began to settle. Tapping the eyepiece's controls again, she waited for the computer to finish crunching the data. Outlines flickered in the cloud, lines of text scrolling rapidly next to them, describing the effects of the gas as the processor narrowed down potential compounds and finally flashed up what little it had come up with.

That's a hell of a catalyst. One good gust of wind and it could cover half the city within minutes. Gonna have to be contained somehow, but I doubt containment will hold... that.

The focus of the display switched again, back to the flaring energy source near the centre of the cloud. Quickly twisting the cap on her belt, she reached into the pocket dimension within and drew out a pair of metallic black spheres, hooking one to each side of the belt before snapping the jewel shut once more and stepping off the edge of the building, swooping downward and landing in a crouch at the edge of the cloud.

Standing slowly, she closed her eyes, forcing her heart rate back to normal, a thin field of energy gathering and glinting around her, adding to the already-impressive sheen of the blue-and-white armour she wore, as she drew a deep breath and stared into the green, eyes flaring with blue-white light.

They told me, always be diplomatic. But never, ever go in without a back-up plan. Here goes nothin'.

Steeling herself, she marched forward, scrambling over what remained of fallen Freaks and chunks of rubble, directly towards the flaring light show ahead. Pausing just behind the edge of the abused concrete beneath Ellie's feet, she barked a single word in Khelda.

    "HEY!"
  6. Well, I was hoping for an excuse to try out these new toys, but...

Floating high above, Phoenix surveyed the scene, a flickering eyepiece picking out points of interest and allowing her a closer view of the battle without the need to reveal her presence.

Something moving drew her attention, and she noticed a man moving across a rooftop some distance away. Something about his manner seemed off, and she was momentarily torn between following him and attending below, the decision abruptly made for her by the collapse of the front.

Shrugging, she tapped a tiny button on one side of the gadget and captured a few images of the departing figure, the small computer attached to her belt beaming them directly to the PPD.

Suddenly, the rubble below shifted, shook and violently exploded, the eyepiece outlining the rising figure and flashing a bright-red warning along with two words.

    Tiger White.

Descending quietly to the roof the mysterious man had just vacated, she settled near the edge, remaining as far out of sight as she could, content to observe for the moment.

That's it. I want a Mac. Or this ported to Windows. Or does something like this exist?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Following a little link tucked away in a corner there leads to this thing, which looks rather like a Windows version. ^_^
  8. Far as I understand it, Dwarf/Nova have a toggle cost in Endurance just like any other toggle, but they also have a mini-Stamina to negate that cost built into the form. Both can be slotted to reduce this cost (EndReds) or to boost the effect of the mini-Stamina (EndMod).

I may be utterly wrong, but I think that's how it goes.
  9. <LPhoenix> An excuse to beat on Council? Not that I need one, but count me in.

((50 PB, as surprisingly few people know ))

what i was aiming for was:

lshift and lbutton to be the teleport in both human and dwarf form.
in human form use tray 1 as primary
in dwarf form use tray 2 as primary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Try these:

    Dwarf macro

    /macro dwrf "goto_tray 2$$powexec_toggle_on Black Dwarf$$bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Black Dwarf Step"

    Human macro

    /macro humn "goto_tray 1$$powexec_toggle_off Black Dwarf$$bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Shadow Step"

Both tested on my own WS and working fine. You might want to add a Dark Nova toggle-off in the human one if you use that form.

Dinged 20 last night and finally got Black Dwarf to add some versatility to my build and [thank god] some variety to my playstyle. It's been hard work living in Nova for 14 levels.

Anyhoo, I have lshift+lbutton bound to Shadow Step when in Human Form and I'd like to use the same bind when in Dwarf form if possible so that I don't have the inevitable brain-lag induced moments where I can't TP.

So, will the following bind activate whichever power is valid in the current form?

    /bind lshift+lbutton "powexec_name Shadow Step$$powexec_name Black Dwarf Step"

Not at home at the moment so I can't test it out, would be grateful if someone can confirm. Thanks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Far as I can tell, that bind triggers BD Step only.

I have both bound to the same combination through my transformation binds (binds within binds! ), using U to go to Dwarf and H to return to Human, like so:

    /bind u "goto_tray 5$$powexec_toggle_off Dark Nova$$powexec_toggle_on Black Dwarf$$bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Black Dwarf Step"

    /bind h "goto_tray 1$$powexec_toggle_off Dark Nova$$powexec_toggle_off Black Dwarf$$bind lshift+lbutton powexec_name Shadow Step"

Results in the combo triggering the appropriate teleport, as long as I shift into the form using the particular bind. (the tray switches are there because I have human powers in 1-2-3, Nova powers in 4 and Dwarf powers in 5.) It ain't absolutely perfect (for one thing, if I get planted in form or mezzed out of one, I have to press H to get Shadow Step working again), but it works.

Could just as easily be done as macros, of course, if a button is preferred.

EditReading that through, it seems to me to be a little patronising. Forgive me if it is, it wasn't meant. Not good at putting across a lot of information.)
