Sounds odd but maybe that is it?
Still getting 160s from the Wardens. Could the max HP of the gladiators have something to do with it? It seems like everything in the same rank has the same HP, but I haven't fully tested that theory.
  2. So I decided to be the best husband ever and help my wife get the healing badges on her villain and hero badgers (a Brute and a Scrapper), and figured I'd get in on the action with a couple of characters (a Brute and a Defender) that I may decide to turn into badgers at some point in the future.

Running two instances of CoH on my computer, I managed to grind 400 Rep in Warburg on the Scrapper/Defender combo. Then I moved the Defender from Justice to Infinity and back (yay free server transfers!) to help speed up the climb to 400 Rep on the Brutes.

I set up the Defender and Scrapper on a 2-player gladiator match. Each team had 3 LBW2, 3 Outcast Initiate Sluggers, 1 Vahzilok Abomination. After leaving the computer running overnight, I noticed that we were each healing about 600k points in 8 hours.

After getting all 6 healing badges, I switched over to the Brutes and did the same thing. Each team has 3 LBW2, 3 Mooks, and 1 Gremlin/Winter Horde. After leaving the computer running overnight, I noticed that we were each healing about 300k points in 8 hours.

Can anyone help me understand the disparity? I mean, besides the obvious "Devs hate Villains" explanation.
  3. I've used it for a couple of purposes.

    1) Had a 50 claws/regen on Justice that I don't play much anymore. Really liked the name, and would love to roll a new character with that name, but didn't want to delete the 50. Moved the 50 from Justice to Freedom, where I have a personal SG, and rolled a new character on Justice with the same name.

When the 50 got to Freedom, I discovered that his name was already taken. This worked out pretty well, because I was kinda tired of the character concept, and didn't want to have two characters with the same name. It gets a little confusing when talking to friends about it. Used the free rename to give him a new name, and 5 of his 40+ free tailor tokens at the super tailor to change his gender/costume/power colors.

    2) Had a level 34 character on Justice with an in-joke name. The name got old, but the character was still a bunch of fun to play. Rather than reroll, I created character on an empty server (Virtue) with the same name. Moved the 34 from Justice to Virtue, acquiring a free name change token. Checked Justice for available names until I found one that I liked, that fit the 34. Changed the 34's name on Virtue, and then moved it back to Justice.

All that was left was to get my wife to invite me back to the SG. I'd made her mad earlier in the day, so it took some convincing.
  4. Thanks for putting this together. Had a great time. Did a couple more runs after you left. Synapse never showed his ugly mug.
  5. Damnit, Blood! I can't stop staring at your avatar. The awesome is just so hypnotic.
  6. My wife would love to do this on her badger.

    @Luna Eclypse
Ember Hart - Dark Melee/Fire Armor Brute

I'll be happy to lend a hand. I can play any of the following, based on team needs.

    @Mathis
    Soundwave Tsunami - Sonic/Sonic Corruptor
Thunderquake - Electric Melee/Stone Armor Brute
    Octurian - Crab Spider
    Digital Tangent - Robots/Traps Mastermind
  7. For you knockback issue, look into some of the IOs that provide KB protection. Looking at your build, I'd consider dropping the Blessing of the Zephyr: Knockback Protection IO into Super Jump or Super Speed.
  8. Here's the changes that I made to the build, based on the feedback above.

I'm not sure that I like Conserve Power anymore, without Physical Perfection. Is it worth keeping, or should I look at something like Hurdle, and reassign the two slots to places where they're either get me more recharge or more defense?
  9. I just built an Elec/Elec Scrapper to duo with my wife's BS/SD Scrapper. It's the first time I've played with Electric Armor, so I really have no idea what's good and what isn't. Here's the build that I had in mind. Yes, there's some expensive stuff in there, but it's a longterm project.

I'm not looking to solo AVs or anything, but I'd like to dish out some serious pain, and have solid survivability.

I welcome any advice you've got to give.

    Thanks!
  10. The wife and I took a couple of level 13 toons through all of the Freedom Phallanx TFs with our SG. Started Friday night with Positron, ran Synapse and Psyche on Saturday, and Citadel, Manticore and Numina on Sunday. Got the TF Commander Accolade, 24 levels, and one heck of a good time.
  11. And easy to whack Coralax, for the gladiator badge.
  12. While certainly iconic, I think that the current Granite makes distinctive-looking characters appear vanilla. I spend a lot of time trying to make my heroes and villains stand out as unique. The only reason I can stand playing in Granite form is because of the tankeryness that it affords me.

A potential candidate for a new Granite armor overlay. Picture this, but made of stone.

On a more serious note, I've always liked the idea of a low-graphics version of the Thermal buffs, where you're surrounded by floating chunks of stone, which "intercept" incoming damage. It would still allow the character to be seen, and retain a unique, distinctive look for Granite Tanks/Brutes.

    PAX Anyone?

PAX makes me sad because I can't go this year.

    Going Rogue?

    Perhaps I missed it, but...

Has anything been said about badging for GR? I know my wife is a badger, and would love to get her hands on both the red and blue badges. Will she be able to go evil, grab all the exploration badges, defeat badges, etc., and then go back to blue and be all hero-y without losing those badges?

Obviously some would have to go away, though stacking the +HP/+END accolades would be great, but is seems like some of them should be able to stick.

Out of curiousity, how hard is this to farm? Do ANY defeats in PvP count, or does it have to be an opposite faction/someone not in your SG? No one in my SG is into PvP (myself included), but we wouldn't mind having the base item. If you took a bunch of your SG mates in SG mode, meandered out to a seculded corner of Warburg and started beating on each other, would it be that difficult to farm this badge?
  16. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to the market. However, I've made about a billion infamy over the last 4 months setting my slider to 40 and rolling level 40-44 bronze rolls with my level 50 Brute. I craft anything that sells for 3+ million (and has some bidding activity) and either trash or vendor the rest.

I post the enhancements until all my market slots are full and then go to bed for the night. By the time I get home from work, about half of it is sold. Another day or two and nearly all of it is gone.

I usually only play a couple times a week, so this method works great for me. If you play more often, you may want to find a different method that his a higher turnover.
  17. Out of curiousity, do you generally bring along non-teamed 50s to help ease the process? I've got a dusty old Emp that seems like he'd work well parked in the middle of a bunch of lowbies, spamming heals, auras, CM, and Fort and using the occasional rez on those less than fortunate souls that taste the fine vintage of sewer water that runs beneath Paragon City.
