  1. Only 2GB RAM and only 13% free hard drive space. Time for some spring cleaning. Get rid of some programs and stuff you don't use or need and/or transfer it to another drive. Then run a Defrag on it and try again. If you are trying to run Ultra mode, turn down some settings and see if that works (I believe CoH_Helper only shows preferences set for Live, not Test). If you can add more RAM and/or upgrade your video card, that wouldn't a bad idea either in the longrun.
  2. Elec is Terribad compared to the other choices, and it doesn't do as much Endurance draining as it makes you think it does. A whole team of Elec together does sound interesting to see though. Dark would be a good choice for all the stacking -Tohit.

Yeah, it's been a while. My bottle of Aspirin has a nice layer of dust on it by now. I better check to see if it's expired before venturing back into his threads.

    LOL j.k! Welcome back AW!

I haven't claimed that veteran reward in years since it gives you all four instead of a choice of which one to take, which clutters up my enhancement/respec screen, so I can't verify that. It may have gotten broken if it WAS fixed.

I think the dust trail itself might be somewhat broken. Sometimes the dust trail remains even while in Fly mode and not even touching the ground! Toggling Fly off and then on again while in the air usually fixes it though.. even if you still have Sprint toggled on.

    Edit:
Nevermind, the dust trail while flying seems to have been fixed... but I do find it funny that you also get the dust trail in the water. lol

On a side note, the Prestige Power Slide and Ninja Run do NOT have the dust trail, but the Veteran-claimed ones all do.

Congratulations! That's an impressive number, and only days away from the 700 club now! Woo-hoo!

I'm only a 45-monther here, so I'm stuck at 687 myself... a bit behind you all without the anniversary and extra Veterans. I agree with you about the Epic badges. The original Empath and Immortal badges took too much time. Even AFK overnight and while I was at work, they still took weeks. I have yet to get started on the damage ones with my other 2 badge toons. For comparison, my 3rd badge character knocked out Empath in less than 3 days with the new requirements. lol

Only a week or so vacation? Well, at least the new ones wont take long to clean up, then we'll have an even longer rest until the GR mayhem ensues. lol

  9. Nice job everybody! It was a smooth run and we finished quickly without any issues.

Congratulations to everybody who earned their TF Commander Accolade tonight!

    See you all next week!

I remember the same thing. It seemed as though there would be rewards both for staying true to your own side and another (or even similar reward) for switching. Then of course there are the "penalties" for switching as well.

I wonder how they would treat toons that start in Praetoria. In another thread there was even a debate on which currency they would earn, influence or infamy. lol

I want to go digging to try to find that article too, but as things are interpreted different ways and are always subject to change, it might not be worth it.

    Edit:
I just tried looking for it. I followed a link in my history from January, and it seems the page was replaced by War Witch's April interview. Even the link in the forum no longer takes you there. I wonder if anybody saved it somewhere.

Yeah, that's what we are all hoping. Being able to team with the other side and doing most of the content together (running their missions) shouldn't be a problem, but as far as TFs themselves go...
Something about the internal mechanics of a TF counting each member as a "mission owner" might prevent the TF from starting and it does make one wonder if we'll get the "One or more of your members does not fit the requirements of this TF" when we attempt to get it rolling. Hopefully that wont be the case though.

Trying to use Ouro to travel while on a TF might be a problem too if the TF isn't programmed to accept "co-op" teams. We'd end up in an invalid zone and booted from the team. I recall a bug like this happening to some people even on Live, which is the reason I think the TFs are programmed that way.

That, and at least Efficiency Expert might be impossible for a Hero/Vigilante to acquire if we can't talk to contacts on the other side.

Of course, this is far too early to start worrying about it. The way things work internally are always subject to change, especially with the side-switching mechanic itself coming out. We still have plenty of time to see actual details as they are released before we start disagreeing aout how it might affect any of us. haha

I was under the impression that just like being able to access only one side's market, we'd still only be able to access one side's Ouro and contacts as well. This might make completely switching over a requirement for some TF/SF or mission badges. We'll have to see.

In general, an Mo run is planned by someone, they start a thread about it in the forums, and have a sign up there, along with reserves signing up.
I'm on Freedom, and that's is how we do it too (or at least the people I usually run with). Many of us just sign up with random toons that need the badge. Sometimes we switch to toons we think might be more helpful once we see what the team looks like, even if it's a character that already has the badge. We don't normally care what AT or powerset people have.

The only time we ever really got sore on somebody was when they were clearly not even trying and just sandbagging for the badge and being disrespectful to the team in general, but that situation didn't necessarily have to do with "Mo", but the person not being a team player in general.

For the most part when we lose, we joke about it and learn from the mistake and try again the following week. I started giving out an honorary "I phail" award to the first person that dies. Some people like to "secretly" compete for it. I lightens the mood and makes for some good jokes. haha

I'm not going to sit here and say that everybody else on Freedom is the same way though, cause I know that's not the case. lol
  14. Is there anything significant to the location where the main drive is?

Even though drives are supposed to be magnetically shielded these days, is there anything magnetic like a speaker nearby that might somehow cause an issue what that particular spot?

Is there no airflow in that spot, possibly making it overheat?

Indeed. That's the type of purchases I usually make, so I didn't even think about how the Roll categories might behave differently.

Home only resets your horizontal angle. Only zoning or following something in first-person view will reset Vert.

In another thread, I even came up with a bind trick that will reset Vert for you at the touch of a button:

Make sure you have any object/player/foe targeted, and press KEY.

Note: There is no need to press the key twice. The release of the key re-runs the command again which automatically stops following and returns you back to third person view. The trick works the same whether you are standing still, walking, running, jumping, or even flying.
As long as you have a target, your view will instantly reset to camera-origin when you press KEY.

I use it once in a while, especially if I am using a tank and happen to pull a bunch of foes into a corner. I'll swing the camera around to face my front as I'm attacking them so I can actually see what's going on instead of being crammed in the corner behind my toon and just seeing large blurs of auras and powers going off. It's quite useful.

I guess that's what I get for reading the stickies LAST when I view the forums. I figure when I get home for the night and start looking through everything for the day, they are the least likely to change or get knocked off the page and I'd get to them eventually when I am done looking at everything else. Silly me! lol

So basically the slider is just for searching for a category and has no effect on the roll themselves... I guess that makes sense, but it still seems silly.

And yeah, I just double checked the text in-game that says:
"The recipe received will be equal to your level. If your level exceeds the maximum level of the reward, you will receive the recipe at it's maximum level."

It does seem a bit misleading though, because say for example you are rolling a "30-34 rare recipe reward", somebody might think it means you'd get a lvl 34. Why even have different categories if you just get a level 50 anyway? I never realized it did that.

That system should be modified. Regardless, the point is it would certainly be a valid reason to keep a character at a particular level.
  21. My list for comparison:

The reason there is a 7 month gap between my Paid Time and Veteran Time is because of the various retails I have added over the years, the couple Refer-a-friend invites that went through, and because i pay yearly using the "buy 12, get 2 free" deal. At the end of the year, it only adds 12 months to my paid time, but adds 14 months to my game time and Veterans Time.

As for how correct the rest of the dates are.. it looks like my next ones will come about a week and a half late, provided they come on the date listed. Other than that, they look mostly normal.

I have not bought anything from the store recently. I have not yet purchased GR either.

Can't you set the lvl on the sliding scale at the top of the Merit Vendor window anyway? You can still roll for lower level items at lvl 50.
