Checking on my laptop, it looks like the Mids program is about 735 pixels high (768 on a VEAT). Having a screen height of 800, works just about perfect for me. It appears you are using a resolution with a height of 768 (unless your hosting site resized it). That's why it's getting a little cut off.
What if you drag the title bar up a little higher than the screen and drag the bottom of MIDS to open a little farther? You might be able to use a hidden Windows Taskbar to allow more space as well. -
For this, I simply put the teleport powers in position 8 in each tray, then bound my LSHIFT to activate the 8th slot. Whichever mode I activate, the correct teleport is already in the right spot without having to change that bind too.

From my perspective, it appears the OP is experiencing a problem I've seen reported on here before.
They are able to log in, but instead of seeing Freedom, Virtue, Justice, Champion, etc.. the server list consists of file names from the client, which cause the game to error.
Last time I saw this, it was fixed with a fresh registry install. Sometimes it is caused by trying to run the game from several Windows accounts. Only one of them performed the update, so the other registry info needs to be fixed as well. Assuming you are using the NA client, that can be done with this file. -
How are the other case fans operating?
Poor ventilation* can cause an overheat, regardless if the cpu assembly itself is normal.
*This does not mean to run it with the side of the case open. In many cases, that can actually cause the temperature to increase because the case fans are no longer forcing new, cooler air through the system. For people running with the side open, it's sometimes suggested to use something like one of those 9" or larger personal fans to blow toward the system and provide the fresh air it needs.
What is the temperature in the room like?
Even though a computer does have it's own cooling system, it's important to note that a very high environmental temperature can make it impossible for cool air to even get into the system to begin with, causing the cooling system to fail. It's not uncommon for a system to start having issues once summertime starts to roll around and you don't have air conditioning. Many times it doesn't make a significant difference, but other times it is enough to push a system over it's threshold.
It doesn't necessarily explain the sudden changes in temperature, but hopefully it's helpful information if it actually is overheating. -

Keep in mind that you are only allowed to change your Global name once*. If you have changed it before, you probably wont be able to change it again, and clicking the above option will simply tell you what your current name is instead.
*Global server prolems in the past have allowed that option to be reset and allowing some people to be issued another name change, but it's not something we should ever count on.. so make sure you pick a name you are going to want "forever". -
Quote:Clicking on the link redirected me to the appropriate place as well. The above still seems to be down. Says it can't find a server at www.vidiotmaps.com.

Quote:Agreed. It wasn't always there, but it's certainly been there long enough for the OP to have seen it "last week".Forgot to mention, although flight isn't new it is newer. I can't recall for sure, but I believe it was introduced with i15. I ran heal farms on Liberty for about 9 months to get empath on my blaster. This was before they started lowering the req's and you still needed 1 billion for the badge. At that time there was no flight. I dug up some old screenshots to verify, as my memory isn't what it used to be.
And thanks for double checking the heal credit. My test was too quick and wasn't really for healing purposes, so I didn't check for actual credit. -
Quote:You left out the most important (but obvious) part. Actually moving the files to the new location. There is quicker way to move it to different directory if you aren't afraid editing registry.
Coh registry settings are located in the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\Coh"
You need to change "Installation Directory" to point to new CoH directory. After that you only need to update "Target" and "Start In" in the shortcut to point to new coh directory as well.
That's it.
In fact, I'd prefer this method anyway. Using Bill's re-installation method (or even the stand-alone NA CoH registry installation program) may result in some of the graphics options that are saved there being reset to default. -
Quote:For the record, I accept the apology. It was apparently a big misunderstanding. I'm still unsure how you thought my posts in another thread were flames, but hopefully you wont make assumptions again next time. This was awfully nice. I got negative rep and this comment for offering an appology -
I appreciate the support from TJ, but I certainly didn't tell anybody to -rep you. I'm sorry if you feel you are being attacked, but I assure you I have done nothing to cause it.
If you have a problem with reputation, my advice to you would be to disable your reputation in the options and confront the person privately in a PM.
Publicly calling somebody out and making a thread go offtopic just makes you a target for more -rep. That's not a warning or a threat.. just the simple truth. I'm honestly just trying to help. I wouldn't spend most of my free time in the Tech and Player Question forums if that wasn't the case.
And thanks to WarLord Mars as well.
Edit:
Back on topic again...
I just ran a Gladiator match and confirmed that it is indeed completely broken.
I still don't think the flying is new. I've always has insta-fly during my healfarms in the past, but I also get the same error message when trying to send a command to the pets.
On a positive note, while the match itself is broken, the healfarm aspect of it seems to still work just fine. The Longbow still run their healing aura repeatedly. The only problem would be keeping a large enough mob positioned tightly together without being able to use their Goto command.
Edit2:
I just realized that even though the Wardens are using their aura, the pets might also be in an "Only Affecting Self" state, and might not actually be healing each other. That would explain why they aren't attacking each other as well. I was using a character that already has Empath, so I don't know if I would have earned credit or not. I'll have to try again later. lol -
Quote:Well my other server didn't hit 50 yet. my next one to add to the list...I guess I'll finally add to this list.. (though I don't remember exactly when they dinged)
Heroes (in the order they hit 50):
Master-Blade : Katana / Regen (Scrapper)
Teal Tabby : Invulnerability / Axe (Tank)
Bonfires : Fire / Kinetics (Controller)
Nurse Smurfette : Empathy / Rad (Def)
Midnight Meow : Energy / Energy (Blaster)
PPD Hardsuit : Rifle / Devices (Blaster)
Phanta-Rad : Ill / Rad (Controller)
Villains (in the order they hit 50):
Master-Blades : DB / Willpower (Stalker)
Robin Rogue : Dark / Kinetics (Corruptor)
Longbow Spy-duh : Night Widow (Widow)
I'm not sure who the next one will be... my next highest is lvl 36 on each side, and I don't play either of those toons. lol
I guess my next 50 will probably end up being my first one on another server. haha
Star'goyle : (Warshade) dinged during our Monday night Tina Arc.
That makes only 11 for me as well. I need to stop playing with only my lvl 50s. lol -
Quote:This reminds me of Mickey Mouse in Brave Little Tailor where he comes out of his shop proclaiming "I killed seven with one blow!" when the town is concerned about a dangerous giant in the area. The king appoints him as the Giant Killer and sends him out to protect the town.
soloing three separate characters to level 50
He was only referring to killing flies, a task that isn't quite as magnificent as it seemed at first. lol -
Quote:Just to show where I saw it... (in the Currently Linked section at the bottom)In their defense, our "documentation" (if it even exists) absolutely sucks.
I noticed it the day I created my City Info Tracker account (last week).
It might say it somewhere else too, but I have not really dug into the site much yet.

If you are not currently linked to a Titan site, simply visit the site you want to be a part of, and log in with your Titan Key.
Through internet wizardry, you will automagically have a valid, working account on that site, and the site's icon will appear below!
Note: If you had an account on a Titan site prior to July 15, 2008, please drop a line to support@cohtitan.com with your account details, and we will manually link your legacy account to your Titan Key.
And LOL @ "automagically". -
The Critter AI was changed a while ago. It appears to make most critters use self/group buffs much faster and earlier in their combat sequence. In many cases, self buffs now take priority as the first power they use, instead of their most powerful attack.
As far as I remember, some Troll Lts have always had Integration, and one of the Bosses has Invincibility... but they didn't really turn them on until they got below 25-50% health. Now, enemies tend to turn on these types of effects from the beginning of the battle instead.
Similar things can be said for many other enemy groups as well. -
I liked the way BH worked, and stuck with it for my whole "career" thus far. I figure since I'll have to re-verify everything for the new BH site anyway, I might as well verify onto both sites at the same time so I made an account on the other one as well.
I figure it'll be a good backup one way or the other in case one site is down and I need to check something real quick. I never even noticed how often I used the pages until now that I don't have the information store anywhere. I keep checking to see which badge I still need for an accolade, or quickly checking which one of my toons has not yet done certain TFs/Tasks... and I'm disappointed. lol
Well hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.. and better than ever!
Quote:Funny story, I just checked, and you don't have a faces profile unless you actually visit it.. -
Quote:This sounds like the case to me as well.Sounds like someone left behind an Ambush spawn. Either that, or it's a bug. Check again, and if they are still there, /bug it.
On a side note, there are 2 ways to go through to that Tunnel. If I couldn't get through one exit, I would have tried checking the other.
Edit to add my illustrations:

Entrance from the South side

Quote:I don't know what post you could be referring to other than when the OP linked to the outdated wikia site.I stand corrected. I was simply hoping to keep you from flaming him here as you did in another thread. My appologies.
Other players corrected him, and I simply agreed with them.
Correcting another player's oversight is not the same as flaming. In my case, it was not even close.
Edit:
Back on topic..
I have spent the last hour or so in other threads and trying to re-calculate other things that I'm sure my math is wrong about... I did not get a chance to test the arena before work, so it'll have to wait until tonight and/or another player's response. -
Quote:I was just trying to say that 2 out of 3 things that he reported are working as intended. The purpose of this forum is partially to share our experiences and find out what may be causing the problem.I don't think the OP was asking for a tutorial of the Gladiator system. Why would you do that to him? He was simply reporting an issue.
You don't really have to test. He doesn't need your help. He's reporting an issue that he had so the devs can have a look.
We test things ourselves for many reasons. It's not that we don't believe the OP. It helps us gather more information about the problem and see what the similarity and differences of our experiences might be. Many times, a problem may only affect certain people, or only under certain circumstances. If nobody checked for themselves, we would never know if the OP's problem is a result of user error, client error, or server error.
If he didn't want our (player) input, he should just sent a /bug report so the devs will actually see it.
Edit:
*took out the quote of forum description because Katze listed it below while I was adding more to my post. -
The in-game info is only going to show you the recharge of the power by itself, not including buffs from other powers or the additional recharge buff you actually get from the power while it's active.
For example.. Hasten:
Base Recharge = 7m 30s
w/ 3 lvl50 Recharge IOs, the ingame info displays 99.1% enhancement for a recharge of 3m 46s
That doesn't take into consideration the fact that Hasten will be granting an additional 70% recharge for 2m.
The actual recharge of the power should be:
3m 46s = 2m + 1m 46s
2m / 1.7 = 1m 11s
1m 11s + 1m 46s = 2m 57s
That also does not factor in any other recharge bonuses from any other sources like set bonuses or other powers.
Stack AM with that, and of course you are going to get a much quicker recharge than you expected.
Edit:
(Trying to crunch the numbers for both combined)
AM's base recharge = 7m 2s
w/ 3 lvl50 Recharge IOs, the ingame info displays 99.1% enhancement for a recharge of 3m 31s
If you factor in the combined 100% recharge for 2m from both powers, that means it should shorten the full recharge time of each power by about 1 minute.
AM will be back up in 2m 31s (down for 31s)
Hasten back up in 2m 46s (down for 46s)
Working as intended as far as I can tell.
(I got these in-game numbers using a character that does have some slight set bonuses, and verified with a small digital timer. YMMV. I hope I did that mostly correctly. Something feels wrong, but I'm not sure what. I hope it answers your questions either way. I tend to offer up more info and make things more complicated than was really necessary. lol)
TL;DR
If you factor in the combined 100% recharge for 2m from both powers, that means it should shorten the full recharge time of each power by exactly 1 minute. -
Gladiator matches are intended for you to be an observer controlling your pets. You don't have any powers, have perma-fly, and can not interact with characters in any way. You can't even block or push them around.. you pass directly through them. It sounds mostly normal to me.
As for currently not being able to even control the pets... I'd have to test. I know there are a few other Arena problems getting certain types of matches to start, but I have not run my heal farm in a while to find out if anything is specifically wrong with the way Gladiators behave right now. -
Each person would have to click it on their own to earn credit for it.

Missing from the team screenshot is "Metal of the Fold", our other Tank. He was apparently being rushed by his mom to get off the computer and left promptly after AntiMatter was killed. lol
Anyway, it was another fun night. We rolled over the foes almost as much as they rolled over us, but we didn't have any full team wipes. We had 3 Khelds on the team, making for a few Cysts, but nothing that couldn't get sorted out fairly quickly.
Thanks everybody for coming out. Special mention goes to Disco for making an in-game appearance. lol
See you all next week! -
