  1. Statesman won't die, he'll just go into a coma that appears to be death.

    Meanwhile replacements will arise.

There will be a guy who calles himself "States". He will wear a power suit that makes him powerful. Not as powerful as Statesman but he'll do his best.

There will be a kid called Statesboy. He will claim to be a clone of Statesman.

Then there will be a Cyborg who calls himself Statesman and claims that he has no memory of who saved him by grafting robot parts to him.

You are flipping those around. Faultline kicks but if you are in RCS then you are good to go. I hope they never change that either. I enjoy having a character in a zone nobody else can get to.
  4. Just watched the two Grimms. I'm definitely enjoying this series but one thing about it is tremendously annoying. Virtually every one of the beings seems to be intimidated and frightened by Nick. But so far his only Grimm power seems to be the ability to see them for what they are. Every one of the whatevers he encounters has some kind of supernatural speed or strength or something ability but they all see him as a threat.

I just want the freaking series to start showing what some of his Grimm powers are. Because if the only ability of a Grimm is true sight then the Grimms would have been wiped out long ago. Right now Nick seems to be the Xander of the Grimm world. Only surviving because he has befriended the ones with the real power.
  5. Just mention any movies you can't find anywhere. I can probably find a streaming source for them.

Sure I'm overconfident but that's only because I'm so awesome.

Too bad this thread isn't a couple weeks older. Just a little while back Amazon's deal of the day was the Mel Brooks collection in Blu-ray. I jumped all over that deal.
  7. Great costume for that character concept. My eyes feel like they have been poisoned.
  8. Pieces. When I look through any set I always look at the majority of them and say "Good lord that's ugly. I can never imagine using that in any form." So picking and choosing usually works out much cheaper for me.

And just like Samuel the packs I bought before were specifically purchased for one or two pieces and the emotes. Now that I don't have to purchase the whole packs I'm satisfied. I still think that packs should be produced but I don't think there should be a huge cost discrepancy between buying all the individual pieces and buying the whole pack.

It should be more like a value meal at a fast food place. You really only saving a few cents. What you are getting in return is convenience of getting the whole set without having to specify every part.

    Hey Y'all

I've missed you. So few rants these days have the frothing at the mouth characteristics that made yours so great. Most are just the run of the mill "I want this and deserve this and I am the center of the universe" style.

Now go rant. If you only have a month time is wasting.
  10. Incidentally, the driver dates will continue to show up as bad (ie yellow) in the CoH helper results even if they are correct. This is because the program looks for the dates to be in the American standard format of Month-Day-Year rather than the Euro and Australian format of Day-Month-Year.

In checking the validity of drivers from any country that uses the d-m-y format you have to look only at the driver numbers.
  11. So Freitag. You need to start your own weekly column or livestream talking about the movies you watched and what you thought.

Just watched it and I have to agree. I also like the homage to the Matrix that they threw in. When Chuck first starts working on the virus the screen is the rain of green symbols.

    Graphics Issues

I just let the game handle it myself. The problem is that opengl is much more stressful on video cards than directx. With that in mind I've chosen not to push my card through that extra bit of stress.

But if you check your card's temperature in game and it's well within the safety zone then you can give it a try. There is really no sure way of knowing how it will affect performance until you do try.

    Graphics Issues

I don't really see anything that stands out so it might just be the fact that ATI and the game seem to be having a lot of problems in general lately.

One thing you might try is lowering your Ambient Occlusion and Occlusion Strength. Those could be messing with the complex reflections coming off of a moving reflective surface at a longer draw distance with that relatively lower resolution setting. Note, I said relatively lower. It's not a bad setting but most people are playing with monitors capable of much higher resolutions so that artifacting is not necessarily something that would be noticed by many people.
  15. Yep, that was exactly the problem. You might be able to play the game on low settings except that you have almost no RAM.

If you can add more RAM to the system then that is the best thing you can do. To try and run it without a ram increase make sure you shut down any non necessary programs in the background. Any browser, any music, and pretty much anything else that uses memory. If you have real time virus protection you might want to try shutting down that while playing the game too. So long as you aren't doing anything but playing the game it's very unlikely that anything will infect your system.

Then open the launcher and right click on city of heroes and choose properties from the drop down menu. Under properties there is a check box that says "launch in safe mode". Check that box and it will put all your settings to the minimum. You might be able to play that way but it won't be a great gaming experience.
  16. Loved both of them but I'd have to say that the Christmas episode is now my favorite Eureka episode of all.

It could be worse. They could do like movies have done with reviewer quotes.

SMERSH: City of Heroes Freedom is epic failure wrapped in greasy disappointment and dipped in sticky greed.

    Would become

"SMERSH: City of Heroes Freedom is epic..."

Run this program CoHHelper it should give us the important details.
  20. It is possible that your system can run the creator and tutorial but isn't powerful enough to run the full game.

Please run this program CoHHelper and post the results here. It will show us exactly what your system and game settings are.
  21. And here are a few more

    Drive (1997) [great fun movie]
    The One (2001)
    G I Joe (2009)
    Dark City (1998)
    The Matrix (1999) and sequels

I know Dark City and Matrix might be kinda iffy but I consider any movie where somebody develops super powers to fit the genre. If you ever decide to include non American, the Japanese have put out quite a few including Yo-yo Girl Cop, Cutie Honey, and Volcano High.

    Vs (2011)

Ones I haven't seen are highlighted. Gives me something to search for.
  23. Another I forgot to put on my list.

    Adventures in Babysitting
  24. Just so you know in the future. City of Heroes, City of Villains, Going Rogue, even Freedom are all the same game. No matter which one you install once updated it's the same. So installing the program from a disk other than the most recent one actually slows you down because the updater has to patch everything rather than just installing it.
  25. I think a poll should be created so we can vote on which ones are must see and which ones are must avoid. For instance from the above lists I would put Ghostbusters as must see and Howard the Duck as must avoid. This can narrow down the huge swarm.

Maybe rank our top and bottom 5 of the ones we've seen.

I've seen everything everybody listed except for about half of Durrakens list although I've meant to get around to watching those. And looking at your taste Durraken I insist you check out the 97 move Drive. And Shaolin Soccer but you've probably already seen that one.
