You're sacrifice is appreciated! Lookin' forward to this Thursday, I'll try to be on at 8PM as we discussed. If I'm a little late it's because of real world thingies, but I will be there ASAP (pending death or invasion of mutant rat-locusts).
See ya for Posi!

Just a thought, this may be a good place to post pics from our missions defending Paragon! I'll try to remember to take some this Thurs, then everyone can point and laugh at my graphics card. (I'm upgrading to a Commodore 128 soon! Woohoo!)

Well, last night was tons of fun. I really look forward to seeing how we fare in some Task Forces and Trials (I assume we'll be doing the Hollows Trial? Will we be doing the new Positron TF? I hope so!)
I have my bio here, but I hope to have an abbreviated in-game version ready by next Thursday. The Role Playing aspect of this group is really kinda fun.
When we get alternate costumes, will we be able to wear them when we run together, or will the Team Uniform be recommended? (Maybe we can have nights where we're not on "official missions")
Tons of fun and thanks again to everyone!

Ya, I met up with Ny for a few minutes last night and got a few questions answered.
I have a character above level 10 on Guardian, that's NOT in an SG yet. If we want to make the SG up right away, he can make it, then pass off leadership to Person X. I'd retire him back to lowly peonship at that point.
Just an idea... -
Code Name: Operative Wylde
Real Name: Tony (Anthony) Alexander Wylde
Birth Date: February 29th 1988 (6 ½ leap years old)
Known living relations: Unknown, believed to be sole remaining heir to family holdings
In game Data:
AT: Controller
Origin: Magic
Primary Power Set: Plant Control (Magic Cigars)
Secondary Power Set: Kinetics (Magic Spells)
Global name: @American Dawg
“You need to concentrate, Anthony. Watch.” Praetorius clenched his fist and pulled it back to his chest.
“Focus on you opponent. You can't complete the full Circle of Healing unless you put some order to those
thoughts.”
“I'm not a healer, Pratz. How often do I have to say it?” Tony dropped his hands in a sign of exasperation.
“It's not about healing only. It's about the transfusion of energy, moving it from one place and into another.
It's the first step in learning to manipulate the magical energies. There are nine circles and you've yet to master
the first and most basic!”
“History lesson, Pratz. Why did my ancestors subjugate themselves to this generational torture?”
“Your family line and my organization are inextricably linked, Master Anthony, because they needed to be.
Our pact has saved many lives throughout the millennia, and even the world once. So I wouldn't be so flippant
about it.”
Tony drew in a deep breath and sighed long and slow. He stepped out of the mystic circle and moved to the
table bearing Praetoreus' books and trinkets. He examined the clutter and finally spied what he was looking for.
He gripped the cigar between his thumb and forefinger. He turned it in his hands and sniffed the leaf.
“That's easy magic, Anthony. Prepackaged. No skill is required, you end up learning nothing.”
“Can't I save the world with tobacco smoke?” Tony put the cigar into his mouth and snapped with his left
hand; the Cantrip of Light. The mystic light was bright enough to illuminate the dusty training room, but Tony had
learned it was hot enough to light small objects on fire, say, a cigar perhaps.
“Careful, Master Anthony. The leaf of the Dicotyl flower is rare and powerful ...” Praetoreus began.
“And tasty!” Tony interrupted.
“The smoke from its ashes will fill your lungs. If you cannot maintain mental control over the powers it
grants you ...”
“Ya, I know. I can find myself tied up in a bundle of thorny vines. I gotcha.”
“It's all about control Master Anthony, even the 'easy magic' must be controlled. You need to learn to focus
the power of your will to bend the magic, or it will break you.”
“I just love these though. My family holdings is enough to pay for a truck load of these right?”
“Yes, Master Anthony,” Praetoreus said. “And as you appear to be the only surviving heir to my
organizations vast resources, I'm sure you will go through quite a few of them.”
“Heh, ya,” Tony said as he exhaled a cloud of flavorful smoke. “Better start stocking up.”
The cigar in his hands began to move, as if something inside wanted out. It startled Tony, and he dropped it.
“Gather your will Master Anthony! Focus! Or you're about to be ...”
“Glah!” Tony cried out as thorny vines exploded outward, engulfing him their painful grip.
Praetoreus sighed. “I see it's going to be impossible to teach you proper mental discipline. I think it's time
we look into military school. I know an organization that will be perfect for that! What do you have to say about
it, Master Anthony?”
“Mrrrff hmmn mnfff ...”
“Good! Let me call them now!” -
Heya, Thirty7!
I have a few questions ...
1) Do we need to be human? I have several ideas for characters, but my current favorite is, well, a not human.
2) Are we limited to eight? I have a friend that's semi-interested (he's almost a 6-year vet, knows the game very well, is smart and an ample share of common sense and courtesy, and love to RP as well) - or are the other slots already taken?
3) Kheldians, Y/N?
4) Can I get some more info the PCSF for my bio?
Thanks! lookin' forward to thursday! -
Ugh ... guess I'm off to .... Infinity. (shiver)

Magical unicorns on an adventure to Candy Mountain ...
Shun the unbeliever! Shhhhuuuunnn!!!!! -
It was more difficult to run a "concept character" in the "old days". Nowadays, we have dual builds.
When I solo or team with friends, I use my concept builds. Some of them are pretty stinky but when I solo it doesn't matter, and my friends know what they're going to be missing out on. But on a Pick-Up Group, I'll use my "correctly built" character and minus out the role playing. Most of my Dual Builds are slotted with SOs only so its not expensive to keep both builds going.
For instance, my Kheldian is Human Form Only, but my dual build is a tri-form for teaming with strangers that don't know my play style.
Best of both worlds! -
I'd just like to extol the virtues of Stone Cages. My Dom is Earth/Fiery Assault (50) and he's a member of the fan club that adds it to Stalagmites for another "Hold". As a combo they recharge faster that Volcanic Gasses (Which I love, in my opinion VG is the best AoE hold in the game). I also like to toss Quicksand out and drop Earthquake on top -- FROM AROUND THE CORNER!
Those three AoE "holds" are amazing.
I slotted Earthquake with a To Hit Debuff set. Enemies are at -15% To Hit. That's great, especially when combined with the defense bonuses offered by some other sets, and Combat jump, Maneuvers ... you're easily able to effectively soft cap a Positional Defense with this power.
EARTH CONTROL IS AMAZING! -

Quote:Doc D. only THINKS he's evil. His best friend is his nemesis!...The kind of villains who admit that they are malicious and are doing what they're doing just to be evil basically come down to Gargamel and Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
EDIT: On the other hand, there was that whole Doofenshmirtz Quality Bratwurst thing. -
Quote:Back in my day you couldn't attack a fleeing enemy; you had to run ahead and get in front of him."Back in my day we got so much less than nothing, city of heroes was nothing more than a rumor..." Because really, superhero MMOs were, and still are rare. I wouldn't call CoX or CO "RPGs" tough...FFXI is a MMORPG, in fact I wonder how WoW fits in the RPG genera. Even Maple Story isn't an RPG but more like side-scrolling Zelda MMO (Zelda II, I AM ERROR!) /tangent /rant

I use SOs exclusively in the dual build of one of my main heroes.
My logic is that, since the game is "designed upon" the numbers of SOs, then I should be able to run the content with SOs exclusively. However, I have to bump the difficulty down around -1 lvl/ 3 team members or even level at 1 or 2 teammies.
Plus, it helps me to re-live the "old days" and appreciate what we have now! -
Pretty sure it's Khelds and Soldiers of Arachnos
-
Quote:Sadly, I can see a scenario where that happens. That would be really disappointing. With the new "Origin of Power' story arc, the whole Cimerora story, and Imperius Task Force, it seems like they've been setting up the framework for Incarnates. It would be unfortunate if they were not available to players in some way. Might be fun End Game stuff. Still hoping!Two-fold, I would guess:
1) The Well of the Furies is magical in nature.
2) We may not be getting an Incarnate Origin in the near future (or ever) and so they don't want to even have to deal with the "hey look, Tyrant is an Incarnate too... maybe we will get that in GR." -

Why does Atlantis have to be an under water zone? I don't think it will be.
There was a time when Atlantis WASN'T under water, right? And the whole Fifth Column thing involves TIME TRAVEL right?
I think we'll see "Pre-Sunk" Atlantis. And/or the continent/island of Mu as well.
It's all part of the CoH/V history already, isn't it? -
Honestly, I'd just be happy if "Tab to Next Enemy" had an adjustable range, or a range limit.
-
I already have a degree in Geology, and two children. I'm going to be getting ripped off, aren't I? Grumble, grumble.
-
This one isn't original. I heard it a long time ago, from someone I teamed with whose name is long since forgotten:
Nemesis - The world's angriest marching band!
And my own:
Arachnos: Annoying Invulns since 2006 -
I want the ability to choose Point-of-Origin for powers (eyes, hands, feet, mouth/face, chest, etc.) and also choose new "casting" emotes like:
Thunder Kick animation for Flares
Cobra Strike animation for Fire blast
Storm Kick animation for Fireball
Crane Kick animation for Blaze
Dragon Tail animation for Combustion
... My "Firebender" Homage must see the light of day! -
I'm going to spend the evening painstakingly crafting six new characters:
Hero
Electric Melee/Fiery Aura Scrapper (Dark color option to all powers)
Rad Blast/Fire Manipulation Blaster (Fire colored to look like Rad)
Ice/Cold Controller
Villain
Claws/Electric Armor Brute
Earth Control/Earth Assault Dominator (Lava Themed)
Thugs/Thermal Mastermind (A Super Powered Hellion!)
Then spend the next four or five months leveling them until Going Rogue comes out, and I make up a bunch more!
