TV Tropes' Evil Overlord List Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
109 is my favorite. "I will see to it that plucky young lads/lasses in strange clothes and with the accent of an outlander shall REGULARLY climb some monument in the main square of my capital and denounce me, claim to know the secret of my power, rally the masses to rebellion, etc. That way, the citizens will be jaded in case the real thing ever comes along." -
Serious answer: block him, because anyone who thinks that's funny isn't someone I want knowing my personal business.
Joke answer: post about how you're converting to Judaism and tease him that there ain't a damn thing he can do about it. -
I have been at certain points during this game an SG leader, an SG officer, a base builder, and a consultant to the base builder. That is one awesome base that I wish was around back when I was still active in SG leadership. You'd be getting a coalition request from me in a heartbeat.

I just saw Mother Mayhem throwing the bodies over the wall, for them to sink into the water. Considering how many failures there were in the early days of the trial, experts are estimating that there may be as many as 20,000 leagues under the sea.

Did you really have to call Praetoria's military the IDF? Every time I run an incarnate trial I keep thinking I'm up against the Israeli Defense Force.

I've raided in WoW, and I've raided here. They might as well be two different activities.
WoW locks you to the instance once you enter it and will only let you run through it once a week, and resets it after that week whether you're finished or not. It also encourages cliques by locking you, and by making coordination and proper build and execution of moves so key to winning that I'd sooner scrape my teeth with a pirate's hook than do a pick-up raid.
City is almost entirely pick-up raids, and with rare exception, they work. There is no "you need X number of tanks and X number of healers" there's "grab at least one tank/brute and a few support, healing or otherwise, and we're good to go". And if your friend is running late? Well good thing you can run two (or three, or ten) raids in a night if you want to. He can join you on the next one. -

How is this any different from Virtue United? And how will it turn out to be something any better than what Virtue United devolved into?

There's new content and mechanics on a regular basis ever since Going Rogue. Trials aren't just big Task Forces, they're a whole different animal.
The so-called "grind" for Incarnate components is actually fun and exciting. BAFs never get old.
Even if you don't get the drop you want, you can buy it, or save merits, or break the drop into shards/threads. There's no "grind until it drops" like in games like WoW.
It has the best damn RP community anywhere. Seriously, go try to find another MMO where you find a concentration of RPers on one server who aren't an ignored or harassed minority.
It's balanced. Sure, no MMO is perfectly balanced, but there's no AT where you can look at it and pick out the single best powerset.
THE DEVS LISTEN TO THE PLAYERS! Players say, "The Alpha slot feels empty with no content." Devs reply, "Alright, we'll push it back an issue and write some content for it." Players say, "Having to take these three powers before 20 is boring, and we're always running out of endurance." Devs say, "Free fitness!" Players say, "Why do we have to run everywhere?" Devs say, "This wasn't an actual assignment, just something we tossed together in our spare time 'cause we love you guys, but have a Walk power!"
I've come, I've gone, I've returned, I've played other games. The only way I'll ever cancel my City account again is if RL hits me so hard I can't play MMOs at all. -
More durability and better overall quality comes from increasing your threadcount.

Someone made a very elaborate joke there XD.
Unless you can actually buy it. WTB Utopios! -
They're calling it Special ED.

The only problem with that is that some people want to make child characters. An 8 year old girl shouldn't have a feminine figure.

Seriously, listen to this thing and tell me it doesn't sound eerily like the Crusaders' themesong. Hell, the album it's from is even called "The Resistance"

If you're who I think you are, I have one thing to say to you: with an offer like that, there will never be a hole on your team.
