If the team has people with a hold then you can comebine them to hold a boss which is handy. Or be nice and hold whatever is attacking that squishy ect. Or you use it to give yourself time to rehide or try and get a critical hit from a held foe.

Very enjoyable night again
GV now has used a veterans respec (oh noes!) and builds primary focused, dropped Assault for Swift and some IO's slotted.
Looking forward to next week! -
Sadly Repulsion Bomb is another power needing its text fixed. Its now the power certain mob types use on you, yup its a targetable 'attack'.
When I was leveling my Ill/FF to level 50, I used him primarly as a bubble bot who could absorb alphas and lockdown a few key foes. Inbetween I'd use forcebolt and repulsion field and scoop foes towards the tank/anchor for improved herding. I never had force bubble and find its far more situtional and dangerous to use than the field but ymmvDetention Field has its uses, mostly if theres multiple bosses in a spawn but it may only get used once a day.
Just make sure you have; Blind, Confuse, Spectral Wounds, Phantom Army, Phantasm, Spectral Terror, Flash and Superior Invis. Hasten for me seems pretty much 'essential'.
Bubble slotting I had; x3 Def on PFF, x3 Def x1 End Red for each ally bubble, x3 Def x2 End Red for the mez bubble, x3 end red x1 knockback on repulsion field. Forcebolt was x2 Acc 1x knockback.
It was alot of fun but as mentioned already, your damage in high level teams is poor and the bubbling at somepoint will drive you crazyBut you _are_ using a powerfull combo that teams should appreciate.

Best 'team' stalker is one that is able to kill or at take sizable chunks of each mobs health as fast as possible, regardless of powersets
Anyway, I can say that Claw/En without stamina is not a pleasant journey or a very fast one. Other than Focus its damage is the weakest of my high level stalkers (spines/ninja blade/energy) so I find it works as a 'fast minion killing machine'. I have repel for fun but in dire times I use it like a storm defender using hurricane (move to the in danger squishy and bump the mobs away, while spamming focus and shockwave). Its also a chaotic way of dealing with the alpha if your the one starting things with an AS. I would recommend having a very nimble character for this style.
For me the best set is Ninja blade - two cones, a knockup, a knockdown, +Defence and a higher chance of criticals when unhidden. With Ninjitsu you have all the cool toys mentioned like trops, powder and the aoe placate.
Nin/Nin would be my pick but I'm guessing Dark/Nin might be more your pick. -
I took the snipe so I had some cheap bonuses and the beanbag has 3 or 4 slotted atm
Tho he's broke and has alot of blank slots hehe.

Didn't get many missions in and not got the Sky Raider fella yet. The lag from the DXP weekend hit us so it was worse than normal.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Sorry, just couldn't resist letting loose with my flamethrower on what must have been close to twenty Council
Hopefully next week we can return to regular levels of /Trap related lag -
Was in the SG during its final few months with Mindfull Vixen. Remember Drizzler standing in Atlas for hours on end

Hoping to see you tonight folks
Should be alot of fun! -
Its very handy if like me, had no defence from Regen
(if info I have is correct) Its defence to melee and lethal starting at 15% and going to 23% three slotted. Mines set for x2 Acc and x3 DefBuff. I wouldn't slot damage in it however with IO's that may change. I typically can have two applications of Div Av going when I'm facing a particulary difficult mob type. -
Will be watching the footy on the tv tonight so prob not catch you again this week

Hey all.
I would be very happy if you can aswer what would be a better partner for duoing with a stalker (not sure but probably nb/nin); a plant/thorn dominator or a mercs/traps mastermind.
Thanks in advance.
[/ QUOTE ]
For me I'd prefer that Merc/Traps MM - easier to get 'lost' in the organised chaos that is the Mastermind style. As mentioned already, not having complete freedom of using placate incase you get your dominator friend killed isn't too great -

Which I can't use in SC
Yea. I wish I could ninja edit my 2nd post and put 'Perfectly balenced' rarther than 'Gimp'
EM isn't PvE overpowered... but it is definatly PvP overpowered.
[/ QUOTE ]
For PvE I'd personally prefer my Ninja Blade, Claw or Spiney over the Energy Melee stalker any day tbhOnly time EN gets me excited is seeing me jump in the air like a crazy with Total Focus

So you're saying that Claws is... umm what's the word... 'Gimp' for PvP without lots of buffs? That's a real shame.
You know what? I don't care! I will single handedly go to Sirens and forge a new reputation for the Claws set!
I think I'll go /Nin, just because I havent tried it past lvl 6 yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't say it was 'gimp'If I was fighting a squishy without buffs I was taking them out more often than not (provided I hit em). Against the Inv tank, I needed the other stalker to double AS ftw. The other thing I should add is my enhancements were -2 to me so keep that in mind too, even if your fighting below your level in Sirens.
Its not 'gimp' remember, just not as 'strong/easy' as the (boring) energy melee so gotta work a bit more to get results
(As far as buffs went that night, I think it was both thermal shields and CM varient but no forge, so not exactly buffed out of the wazzo I wasNor did I have extra stealth I might add)
Nin ? Cool. Nice utility set and what looks like a very fun level 38 power -
I've only attempted zone PvP in Sirens a few times on my Claws/EN and generally if I were soloing I was struggling alot. On a mixed team, working with a few buffs and another stalker I was alot more efficient. Stating the obvious I know but the claws can be very weak without backup.
If your PvPing then I'd say any secondary can 'work' but the likes of Dark Armour would be the weakest to use. Super Reflexes, Ninjitsu and Regen are probably most popular combined with Energy Melee/Spines but Claws has that lovely Focus as you say
I struggle with PvP type builds so I'll let someone else sort that for you -

The stalker team meets at 7pm every Wednesday on Defiant.

Aaah cheers -
For me anyway, I'd say the early part of the build is leveling up one rather than one I'd have at 32 (Gamblers Cut and Flashing Steel combo).
This is what I'd go for from 32 onwards. I've played Ninja Blade on my regen stalker and my /Ninjitsu is at 33 so I'm a bit hazy on just how good Blinding Power can be.

Controllers with forcefields for me. They may as well be in another zone for the amount of attention I'm gonna pay them (if possible
).
That and scrappers in general are a pain without any backup.
However as I found out last night, get a couple of people together who actually work in a team in PvP can usually get the win more often than not -
My best mates stalker (Zhanna), has it and for what its worth he makes excellent use of it in missions. Two of us, a sizable or tricky spawn location and a few (_quality_) pulls later we have an easy time of it. He would snipe and then I'd use my blast to finish it with the crit (only after we had x3 dmg in each attack however).
If your not good at pulling with a snipe attack then its easily not worth the time but in skilled hands its a decent tool in a stalkers belt. With claws I'd be more likely to go with Dark Blast, Soul Storm then the snipe attack.
