I've only attempted zone PvP in Sirens a few times on my Claws/EN and generally if I were soloing I was struggling alot. On a mixed team, working with a few buffs and another stalker I was alot more efficient. Stating the obvious I know but the claws can be very weak without backup.
If your PvPing then I'd say any secondary can 'work' but the likes of Dark Armour would be the weakest to use. Super Reflexes, Ninjitsu and Regen are probably most popular combined with Energy Melee/Spines but Claws has that lovely Focus as you say 
I struggle with PvP type builds so I'll let someone else sort that for you

I wouldn't say it was 'gimp' If I was fighting a squishy without buffs I was taking them out more often than not (provided I hit em). Against the Inv tank, I needed the other stalker to double AS ftw. The other thing I should add is my enhancements were -2 to me so keep that in mind too, even if your fighting below your level in Sirens.
Its not 'gimp' remember, just not as 'strong/easy' as the (boring) energy melee so gotta work a bit more to get results
(As far as buffs went that night, I think it was both thermal shields and CM varient but no forge, so not exactly buffed out of the wazzo I was Nor did I have extra stealth I might add)

For PvE I'd personally prefer my Ninja Blade, Claw or Spiney over the Energy Melee stalker any day tbh Only time EN gets me excited is seeing me jump in the air like a crazy with Total Focus 
Well imo claws is very ncie even for SC. I think SR is a ncie way to go.
Although you don't get the self heal u get from Ning you can squeeze in quickness i think for SC (Might be wrong) and this will help your recharge on Focus.
With the ptoential of a BU'd Ranged Crit Attack and quickness bringing it back quickly after placiating you should give alot of people trouble.
AS'ing is not the only way to get about as a stlaker and claws imo has a great strike range and death dealing capactiy through that power.
SR will also grant you the +perc and increased speed to catch your foe. Although it is going to be resisted heavily by some of the larger SC hero's such as tanks and some scrappers I think it's a gr8 set.
What can i say.. I use MA in SC and do very well for myself
If you plan on going for DA though I'd plan your PvP in Warburg or RV as the self rez is too good a pwoer to not have about
Do not worry yourself. I know that AS is not in any way, shape or form the be all and end all of PvP. A BU'd Crit Focus will be much more unexpected and have the added bonus of 100% knockdown (to squishies... my main targets )
We remember Claws at scrappers, with perma-build up type. At Stalkers that changes to Build Up. Claws are challenging because they have not great damage, but they are really fast. I have seen a claws stalker that could scrap at Recluses Victory, with regen as secondary. They have a really good change of critical afaik due to the attack rate they have. */Ninjitsu is a good choice for pvp. Heal and caltrops, and a good tier9. Ninj Toggles are same defense as SR toggles i think. Maybe a bit less. Lacks of Knockback Protection, but you can get Acrobatics, since claws are Endurance cheap (If you decide to stalk, i dont know the end drain for scrapping) Acro + toggles shouldnt be a problem. Also to mention that if you go for pvp, get Stealth, its a must imo.
After messing about in HeroBuilder I have settled on Regen... Again. This is because with Instant Healing availible at lvl28 it lets me have a Ghetto teir 9 in Sirens Call which is a serious plus, Integration is just a fantastic power boosting my heal rate and pretty much full status protection. I'm not getting stealth just because I won't be needing it nearly as much in SC as in higher lvl PvP zones.
Claws does really well in the right hands.Ive got an EM/SR Stalker and if i really wanted to could go toe to toe with a tanker except an ice tank ofc.And i have seen many Claws Stalkers scrap it out many a time.So the answer to your question is yes claws can PVP effectively.
But Regen is a very tight build if you want to scrap.But if you just want to just hit and run you can maybe get away with some of Regens powers and get some nice goodies for PVP.For EG:TP Foe-Intimidate-2 Travel powers-Concealment pool.
But do not forget if you ever go to warburg Pvping the SR Stalkers will be all over you.Nothing worse than to line up an AS then get ASed from behind from another Stalker with +perception.
I've had alot, and I mean alot, of experience of Claws. I don't like anywhere except Sirens Call. I'm still open to any build suggestions anyone has. (I can't find a single one online that is built for PvP exclusivly)
I don't really want to go Regen because I always go Regen. Can someone help me in what Powers from the Super-Reflexes or Ninjitsu I should pick and which are worthless. (for PvP)
(Claws is a pretty scrappy set so I'll need alot of protection... which isn't ideal but like I said, I'll show all of you when I get to SC )
Well ninja has a pretty nice heal, +perception, and a great mez resist clickie.

Well i got SR but i am sorry now i didnt go Ninjitsu.Claws/Nin with the heal can afford you to stay in the fight longer 1 on 1.But the choice is yours but my next stalker will definetly be a /Nin.I can dig up Elernets I8 Pvp build he is EM/NIN but it will give you an idea about what powers to pick etc.His is a lvl 50 respec build,with no stamina,but at least it will give you a good idea on slotting ninjitsu for PVP

Of course it can PVP. My stalker is claws/nin and I like it very much. AS, focus and eviscerate are musts and I'd like to have slash and strike too (placate and build up obviously) but Im afraid you have to drop slash propably to get all other powers you need. At least I did because ninjitsu builds are usually very tight.
