Any new player who doesn't pay for the game has to wait 30 days before they can trade, join SGs or use Tells and e-mails - that seems like a reasonable delay for someone not contributing anything to development and running costs.
Plus, during those 30 days, it's quite possible that a free player could buy 1,200 Paragon Points for various things in the Market, so they'd get their 2nd reward token early.

I'm not so sure this is accurate. From everything I've seen, it seems like the tokens will only drop automatically for VIP players. This would mean that if the F2P player doesn't spend the $15 on points, then they will never see that second token.

Well, I mentioned in the first post that this may not be the end of this, depending on how many people speak up.

Also, it looks like we've got our Five Man Band set, now who's going to be our Sixth Ranger?
  3. Abandon your plans ye who enter here.

Now before you guys form a lynch mob I had a reason to send you to that wasteland of lost afternoons. You see, you will not want to be unprepared Saturday September 10th, when I host another Themed Task Force.

Inspired by another poster I thought that it would be fun to run a Task Force where everyone dressed like tropes. (and depending on the response to this, I may have another idea that we could do)

Thus, on the tenth, I'll be forming up a Hess TF at around 8:30 Eastern. The Task Force is level 25 and up, and we will be exempted to level 30 to run it. So, help me take on the the Council and all of their Vampyrs, Werewolves, and wrestling aliens all in funny costumes!

I only have one request for this, and that is that folks that join up pick a specific trope to dress up as, and not one that their character already looks like.

    Current Roster

    1) M I Abrahms
    2) Kyo
    3) El D
    4) Eldritch Knight
    5) Mr Grey
    6) Archiviste
    7)
    8)

    Battle Royale

Thought it's not actually mentioned in the list, I seem to remember over on Protector back when we'd regularly get several Kronos Titans and Babbages to spawn on top of a number of controllers with confuse that Kronos would regularly win out.

I read the analogy as the "kick in the groin" being paying the subscriptions fee for the "bag of rats" grindy trials.

As for the main topic at hand, I love new stuff. I don't have a specific dislike of the Keyes trial, I just don't like the idea of the grindy trial. So I don't do them...much. I'll get on one Trial team every couple of weeks, maybe, if there's nothing else going on. Meanwhile I get my Incarnate powers from WST conversions.

    • Combat Flight now correctly provides defense to all types of attacks.
    • Luminous Blast
      • Build Up has been renamed "Inner Light". It now grants a large damage and ToHit bonus for 10 seconds, and then a moderate damage and ToHit bonus for 20 seconds thereafter, for a total of 30 seconds of boosted damage.
      • Photon Seekers cooldown has been reduced from 300 seconds to 180 seconds.
    • Luminous Aura : Quantum Acceleration
      • Added a new power available at level 24: Quantum Acceleration.
      • Quantum Acceleration is similar to Afterburner.
      • This allows Peacebringers to select this power if they wish.
      • This power now provides a moderate amount of defense, improved flight control, and -fly protection, but has a 30 second cooldown once toggled off. This power can now accept Defense enhancements, IOs and Defense set IOs.
      • This power will no longer allow the user to fly unless the user has a flight power active.
      • This power's long help now clarifies that this power's flight protection is only granted while Combat Flight, Energy Flight, Quantum Flight or Group Energy Flight is active.
    • Light Form has been redesigned. Its cooldown has been lowered from 1000 seconds to 300 seconds, but its duration has been reduced to 90 seconds to match that of Eclipse. The recovery bonus from the power and the status protection from the power have been moderately reduced to compensate for the drastic increase in uptime now possible. Additionally, Light Form now persists when activating White Dwarf or Bright Nova.
    • White Dwarf now protects you from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
    • Solar Flare and White Dwarf Flare are now generated by the Peacebringer's hands instead of their feet, and can now be used while in midair.

    Warshades
    • Umbral Aura : Shadow Slip
      • Added a new power available at level 24: Shadow Slip
      • Shadow Slip is similar to Long Range Teleportation.
      • This allows Warshades to select this power if they wish.
      • Decreased this power's interrupt time from 13 seconds to 10 seconds and decreased its recharge from 450 seconds to 300 seconds.
    • Black Dwarf now protects you from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
    • Shadow Cloak - This power has been updated to reflect changes to power pool Stealth that have occurred since it was made. It now provides defense to all types of damage, rather than just positional defense, and half of the defense bonus now suppresses while in combat.
EDIT: Sorry, this is about all I can do here, because while I have access to the Beta, I got hit with the Zero Vet Rewards bug, so the game thinks my account is F2P and has those ATs locked out.
  7. In other words, VIP access to Beta is probably the new Closed Beta, and Free Access is probably new Open. At least, that's what makes sense to me.

It's barely noticeable on the bosses, but the casters have SUCH well toned muscles! And I fully expect the minion to go singing Machoman anytime now.
I mentioned this somewhere else, but I'm cool with this. These are a people who can literally pick what they want to look like out of a crowd. What reason to they have to only choose aged, broken down bodies when they can pick someone young and healthy, and have the benefits of a strong body without having to work for it. (aside from the kidnapping)

Not to mention at least half of the time you've dedicated to this game is in a manner that can't be tracked by the current engine.

Stan and Lou are on the air again. You can find them at kjsr.net, either in the mix by the auto DJ, or by request from one of our live DJs.
  16. Ah yeah, I need to dig through my 'box o' books' and find that one. Another factoid from that delightful little tale was just what's in store for anyone who stays bonded to the Spider Man Symbiote too long.

  18. You may just want to refresh, I was able to get 0.9.4 from the link. Only just tried it out and I like some of the new shiny already.

Oh, that was nothing on you, it's more a comment on the notes themselves, and the length of time it took to write them up. Granted, there's probably an extensive process that is now involved in patch notes, as a result of seven years of this player base howling "Missing note" and "Stealth nerf".

    Still...
  20. Wow. Those were worth waiting for, weren't they?

I don't know what the problem was specifically, but there was a post here saying that because of technical issues the 2XP weekend had to be delayed a couple weeks.

Apart from that, I have no idea what the patch was, because not even the Test server has notes for anything more recent than the patch on the 20th.

Actually...I post stalked you. Your last post prior to this thread was from 2006. Expect to be used as an example next time folks start talking about taking names from players who have been gone for a while.

    So what brought you back?
