I think the announcement is talking about the Villain half of the original event. The one where Recluse is trying to use water from the Well to make player characters obsolete.

Quote:You're going to have similar problems with the Arachnos character. They don't have any Knockback protection either. If we're talking absolutely zero Set IOs of any kind, you're going to want to stick with Super Jump so you can get Acrobatics. On Mastermind: When I say "isn't personally strong," that's not to criticise Masterminds. Far from it, I know how strong they can be. That's just to say that if I DO go that route, I'll probably want to modify the costume a little bit. I just don't want to see a big armoured guy flopping around from knockback.

Quote:Additional point as far as that goes: Castle may not work here anymore, but it looks like he didn't go anywhere.Slightly different situations. Castle, who resigned, was allowed to make an official "farewell" post, and people had a chance to say goodbye to him directly. BaBs, on the other hand, was laid off, and we got no official announcement of it at all -- he just disappeared, and we had to find out what happened from outside sources. That's why people made more of a fuss about it.
Oh, and to stay on topic: DOOOooooOOOOoooMMMM! -
Nope. It looks like the Swagger Soaring Eagle if he was a Super Hero.

Oh, I'm chomping at the bit, too. I just don't think we need to break out the poking sticks just yet.

Furious B: "Yah, man! Flying Freakshow! Think of the possibilities!"
Lt. Krieg: "You have GOT to be kidding me!"
Furious B: "C'mon! Weld a rocket on to me right now!"
Lt. Krieg: "..."
Lt. Krieg: "Uh, no." -
The only thing I've seen them say they are working on is the Incarnate System. Granted, I may have missed something somewhere, but I've not seen anything to indicate otherwise.
I really do hope I'm wrong about all of this. Honestly. There really may be a slew of non-Incarnate stuff that comes out as early as I20. I've just not been given any reason to expect it, is all. -
Quote:That's great, as far as it goes. How long do you honestly expect that to hold people who have no interest in the direction we've seen for Incarnates? Keep in mind, that Praetoria was the last major non-Incarnate content, and that was released aug 17.What would be really nice is if they added some extra content to the early levels, like 1-20. Maybe allow people to make Praetorian alts or something.
In seriousness, concur with UG.
Put it another way, think of the one thing in this game that entertains you the least, be it PvP, AE, or a specific AT, or whatever. Now, picture the devs saying that the only major work planned will be only on that aspect of the game. How long are you willing to sit around, just doing stuff you've already done, when there's no new content of a type that you'd enjoy anywhere on the horizon?
EDIT: Damn my memory. Had the wrong date up there. It's fixed now, and not near as bad as I expected, but again, don't expect folks to sit around for nine months to a year without any updates of a kind they can enjoy. -
Quote:I have no problem with that, as long as the devs remember to add in some non-Incarnate content every couple of Issues as well. From what I've seen the major focus for the next several years will be the Incarnate system, given that at it's current schedule, it will be at least ten Issues before we get around to Omega, much less whatever lies beyond. There currently exists a lifetime of freely accessible content for the majority of players, and I'm not even counting the MA. The one place City has always been weakest is interesting stuff to do once you're 50. They're spending the current development cycles addressing that. Joy.

I think I burned myself on AE when I was doing the on-air review show. Several months doing nothing in the game BUT AE arcs, some of which were actually quite painful, either by design or lack there-of. It was bad enough that when the show went under, I actually didn't log into the game AT ALL for at least a week.

I accept that I am not a hardcore enough gamer for the Incarnate system. Heck, I'm not even hardcore enough for the Invention system. I don't have the patience to sit down with Mids and plan out the entire level 50 build before I ever log into the game. I came to love being here because I didn't need a three week planning session to enjoy the game. All I needed to do was pick powers>decorate character>find hostile>punch face.
That said, I have never had a problem on live with Trapdoor. That's because I knew not to even bother trying to take him on solo. Unfortunately, now that I've seen what Incarnate means, I'm probably not going to bother even running the arc again, because at the moment, there really isn't anything the Incarnate system offers that interests me. -
Actually, my pet peeve does work in this thread. If the devs decide to follow up on this particular thread, It'd be nice to see the Military Decorated jacket made available for female and huge model characters.
-
Well, for those of you struggling to find a reason to play your Kins after reading this thread, I for one will accept happily any buff offered, but I will not ask for it. At most, if I spot the particularly tough mission's Big Boss, I may call a stop to the fight to regroup before we dive in, but that's about it. When the fighting's going on, I can easily lose track of my own health, much less what buffs may or may not be running.

I wonder how tightly his movement is being controlled. Is he still able to move at least far enough to get him in the lava?

Late to the party, but I see everything going at the right speed. Flowing Praise for flowing Prose, and well deserved, too.

As ususal on something of this nature, I've got everything but the stamps. I'm going to stop by the Post Office on Monday (can't find anywhere else that has stamps) and I'll get all of these out by next weekend.

I'll be at work, but since it's Happ, he doesn't really need the merits or badge.
