I will now perform a hitherto undiscovered poem by one S. Baldric for the first time. It is believed to be the complimentary piece to his most famous work, "The German Guns".
*ahem*
Doom, Doom, Doom
Doom, Doom, Doom.
Doom, Doom,
Doom, Doom.
Doom, Doom, Doom.
Thank you.
*Runs away before anyone can throw rotten fruit with too much accuracy. *

But he has a cunning plan...
[/ QUOTE ]
He wouldn't know a cunning plan if it painted it's self purple and danced naked on a harpsichord singing "Cunning Plans Are Here Again".

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that Players complain when an AI stacks mutliple powers but they tend to do the exact same thing to the AI?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know why it's so amusing. If the AI could think and speak for itself, it'd be complaining all to hell.
Thankfully, it can't. Could you imagine the boards if they could? *shudder*
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't think it could get more flamey and whiney...until now! -

Not every mob needs to be herded in packs reaching triple digits.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I was duoing a CoT mission with a friend (Controller/Scrapper) and we definitely weren't herding. We did, however run into packs of Earth Thorn Casters numbering 4,5, and 6. Traveling through Oranbega and all those twisty tunnels, it is pretty likely that you will turn a corner somewhere into a pack of mobs. If they got the drop on us it got quite difficult. Toss in a few Behemoths shooting flares at us and some Fire Thorn Casters and it got pretty miserable pretty quick. Again, no herding involved.
The "toggle" idea is pretty good, or simply limiting the number of Earth Thorn Casters that can appear in one place (much the way they limited sappers) could be a good solution. -

Exactly which support AT could pull a team out of quicksand?
[/ QUOTE ]
Team Teleport or Recall Friend (so any AT) or Speed Boost (Kine/* or */kine) can help quite a bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
Speed boost won't do squat when 6+ of these guys all lay down quicksand on you at once. Believe me, I found this out last night...
[/ QUOTE ]
Granted, but that wasn't the question. -

Just a quick note since this is a hot topic. Regarding the issue of Earth Thorn Casters stacking multiple Quicksands (and such).
Without getting into details, ALL CoT Thorn Casters have been reworked. The amount of control powers these minions have will be severely reduced or outright removed. Expect other related changes with all Thorn Casters.
This change will come in Expansion 5.

Oh, and on a side note, I found out a bit of information about dual pistols for Scrappers. Apparently, Statesman is in favor of this but it would be a melee set or a very short range set while Geko felt that the players would reject a pistol set with shorter range than villians. I see both sides of that argument, so maybe we will see pistols and maybe we won't...
[/ QUOTE ]
As an aside to your side note. The villains pretty much have better range than us on each attack already. What's the sense in changing that now or citing it as a reason for it not being desired? -
The comic's art is much better. It certainly has a "real comic" feel to it. The Zeus thing was a horrible mistake IMHO. It really left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It really ruined the whole story for me. We'll see what happens in the future.
My friend said it best "I would have shot him too". -

Yeah, I personally think this week's PT was the best ever. I've done James Ellroy one better and deconstruted the written language to its true essence. Pultizer, here I am...

Question 3: COV or COH having weather patterns like snow, rain, etc. - NO
[/ QUOTE ]
In the greater scheme of things I suppose this is fairly minor... But still, I was really hoping we'd get weather effects at some point.
[/ QUOTE ]
With all the power effects in this game I think weather would be an unnecessary resource hog. It might be pretty for a short time, but certain things in this game get laggy enough with snow, rain, falling leaves... -

So it's 100 and what? That's an awful lot of candles, better get a Stormy to help blow them out.

After watching the E3 movie of CoV today I realized one thing...He was getting tossed around like he was dead, Statesmen tried to see if he was alive but was interrupted before he could...So when CoV hits the stores does that mean that Synapse will no longer be in the game and maybe that new guy will take his place. Dunno really just speculating.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I talked it over with a few of my inside sources within cryptic (Who shall be referred to as "NotPositron" and "MuggaTea"), and they stated that Synapse will indeed be removed from the game. Apparently, Germany has recently enacted laws that make it illegal to display anything with men in blue suits with white markings who's name starts with S, ends with E, and has ynaps in the middle.
...So yeah, it's all a ploy to appease those dirty penguin sledding, moose riding, ramen eating Europeans.

This is nice but what about a badge for all of us who lived and died during that year not just showed up for the party. A badge for your biggest supporters that have been here through the beta, paid and played all year, even upgraded to the DVD Edition. Or will we have to wait to buy City of Villians also before that ever happens?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not handing out Torches and Pitchforks here, but when I first saw the badge I thought it was for veterans too. What's wrong with a veteran badge? -
Wow, I can't believe I read the whole thing. Gets kinda nasty near the middle.
My main at time of release was a Fire/Fire Blaster. I played her to 41 before Altitis took a strangle hold on me. Since then I have leveled a 33 Mind/Emp Controller, a 38 FF/Psy Defender, A 39 Inv/em Tank, a 41 Fire/Rad Controller, a 30 AR/Dev Blaster, and a 26 MA/Regen Scrapper. While playing my Fire/Fire, I mostly Duoed with a tank. We would cut a wide swath through anything in our path. I died, often, usually when my AoE's missed or MoBs survived inferno in a large number. My tank friend laughed, I laughed. C'est la Guerre. My blaster taught me that debt means nothing, 50 is the end, not the goal.
Prior to Inferno, Aim+Build Up+Fireball+FSC was my meat and potatoes. I saw all the melee attacks in the fire secondary and thought "Wow that will get me killed." I used them mostly for self defense.
Jump from 41 fire/fire, past all those alts and back to her. My understanding of the game is much improved. I recently pulled her out of mothballs and got her to 42. Died like a sheep, often. If it didn't die when I attacked there was a pretty fair chance it would kill me. After reading this thread, and with my experience, I think the best ideas to fix the blaster are:
1) More Hit Points. Not a Huge amount but possibly enough to keep them from being one-shotted with regularity.
2) A Range Only defense toggle. Want blasters to be "Ranged fighters"? They need the tools.
Anything more would be quite possibly a step toward City of Blasters again. -

Echoing the 75 account limitation rather that 75 characters. Or perhaps the option to add an account or character.
