I seem to have struck a nerve here and I apologize. However, this is a project that's important to me and I HAVE tried to make it myself (the darn spider is what kills it). I'm looking for something that looks professionally done and I'm willing to pay for it. So I figured I'd offer it to the CoH community first.
[/ QUOTE ] Dont apologize. When a thread is posted with good thought and a valid question or request for help...........those with nothing good to say should be fed to mutant lemurs.
Hope you find a good artist! -

I had this commission in the pipeline and Javier Kisic was kind enough to change it up at the last minute when I had this other idea pop in my head. This is an awesome, sexy picture of my newest heroine whose name just became available after the name purge.
Here is how she appears in game: Soviette References
and here is the amazing piece of art. WARNING: slightly NSFW

Stalin was a [Censored]. But there are political leaders from every party that have been turds. *cough*
I really agree with you, Misinformed, but I do think humans are selfish. Not to harm others, and subconsciously. Why? Because we're fine tuned for survival -- survival of the fittest.
I am a capitalist. I love money. I want money for everything. Even breathing!

Ahhh if we were all just ELOI.......
Its only a few years away........why by 802,701 A.D. we will find an apparently peaceful, pastoral, communist, future filled with happy, simple humans who call themselves the Eloi. The Eloi are about four feet tall (~120cm), pink-skinned and frail-looking, with curly hair, small ears and mouths and large eyes. Males and females seem to be quite similar in build and appearance. They have high-pitched, soft voices and speak an unknown language. They appear to be quite unintelligent and child-like and live without quarrels or conflict. They are led by some deity named Hillary.

Of course minus this man..........gem of history that he was.
His career was one long record of brutality and murder starting in the 1920's. His efforts to destroy private farms in Ukraine led to millions starving to death. Millions more died in various industrialization projects that were built using slave labor, labor that was worked to death in extreme climates.
Stalin instigated wars with Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and Lithuania - all by 1940. All were bloody affairs with civilian and military alike being slaughtered. Prior to this he had fought a short war with Japan over border issues in north China. He lent major support to communist movements throughout the world, but most effectively in China. This led to constant conflict between the rebel communist groups and the legitimate, Nationalist, government of that country.
During WWII he encouraged tactics which led to the deaths of about 8,000,000 of his own soldiers. Additionally about 2,800,000 German/Hungarian/Romanian/Finnish troops were killed by his armies. His scorched earth policy meant starvation for millions of his own people overrun by the German invasion. Stalin's policies meant to mercy to prisoners and huge numbers died after being taken captive during the war. Perhaps 30,000,000 persons of various nations died because of Stalin just during WWII.
Following WWII, Stalin instigated a policy of terror on the German people. This led to about 2,000,000 German civilians being murdered outright and thousands more commiting suicide. Additionally Stalin enforced brutal police states on all the peoples of eastern Europe which he overran with his armies. Tens of thousands died in these takeovers. German POWs were kept in horrible conditions for as long as ten years after the war, leading to the deaths of at least 1,000,000.
As the war in Europe wound down in 1945, he launched an unprovoked war with Japan, killing many tens of thousands of Japanese troops and capturing many others that were brutally treating in POW camps. Arms captured from the Japanese were then turned over to Stalin's communist allies among the Chinese people.
These Chinese, thus well armed, quickly routed the legitimate government forces in that country and placed a terrorist criminal gang in charge, led by Mao. Mao then used his Stalin backed power to instigate his own slaughter of the Chinese, leading to perhaps 30,000,000 dead from all causes.
Stalin also armed the north Koreans and pressed them into a war with the western nations. This led to the deaths of perhaps 1,000,000 Koreans, 50,000 Americans, and 100,000 or so Chinese.
Meanwhile in the USSR, Stalin's concentration camps were crammed with millions of inmates, who died by the thousands from overwork, exhaustion, starvation, scurvy, shooting, beatings, and disease.
However, by winning WWII, Stalin has been largely ignored in the history books as the astonishingly prolific killer that he was. -

This will be fun..... I think I understand. If you have any exercises I could do I would love to give gesturing a try........hehe.
The action of a figure is usually expressed as "gesture." It means the movement and attitude of the figure. It is body language and all of those subtle differences that characterize individuals, whether they are human or animal. In this regard, when I refer to the model, I mean not only a model posing for short poses of thirty seconds to three minutes, but also people who are not posing and are in real life situations. We use essentially the same learning procedure in what is referred to as the "quick sketch." It will be assumed that for the sake of learning, at this point, they are the same. Other terms used for what we call gesture are "attitude" and "body language."
`Gesture is the single most important element in the drawing.'
No matter how well a drawing is rendered, without that feeling of individuality that we experience in looking at real life, the drawing is nothing more than an academic exercise. Long before we can actually see a person's face, we can recognize him by all those elements that make up that individual, such as his general bearing, proportions of his body, how he dresses, how he walks, and holds his head.
In practice, these steps should take you a maximum of 30 seconds with 10 to 15 seconds being the average.
You should practice these simple steps as often as you can. In a regular day class I will have the students doing this lesson for six hours. -

When you guys do your pencil you have lines that are all scribbly and you darken in your lines that you settle on for the shape. You can see the scribbly ones for much of the process though.
I am guessing the scribbly lines are part of some shaping technique? Any insight for us untrained types?

It is known as " Gesture Drawing " and is helpful to all artists regardless of skill level.
You may also benefit from looking at Mcduffies as well. NSFW tho cause it has boobs, but it is a good beginning tutorial on human anatomy.
The real "pros" manipulate it in conjunction with gesture drawing to achieve all those dynamic and fluid poses.

I had a question. When I draw Pencil (hope I linked the right one I cant see it from work) I typically just draw my lines. If they are jacked up I erase and draw them over.
