I play table top and subject my players to mind-twisting plot lines of sheer evil and fun.
-
try nine dragons, where they've accurately reproduced the medieval process of seeking out a martial arts master and the necessity to put in hours of practicing a move for hours on end to perfect it
there is even a wide blank space to run laps on because the longer you run with "lightfoot" up the more skill you get with it
they even have fractional improvement, the only way I know I'm getting faster is by comparing to higher level players and seeing how fast THEIR lightfoot lets them run
oh and there is basic wanderer lightfoot and then there is lightfoot from the clans
and ALL the techniques are like that -
I missed both contests.
I was going to submit my stewardess/frankenstein girl here, but turned out to be busy at the listed times.
Anyway, can I get some commentary on my costume and get a look at what other people entered? -
Since been directed to this thread, a dump of cool screenies from a back log
*************************
Forget the enemy name, but one of the corrupted seers from First Ward in the midst of my Dark/Dark fender's effects (she calls herself a cotton candy fender)
This one came out especially good.
******************************
An after power effect capture for after the scrapper did something.
A mid-battle shot of Team Overkill vs Crey, my static team..my char is the flying plant/kin, Fallen Petal
A screenie of most of our fire-themed team (jokingly I've called us the Crayolas) the missing member is an Earth Rad who's mostly green.
Tender Bar, my SS/Will brute in front of the Abomination...
Tender Bar about to smack a Demon in Infernal's lair
Bat'Zul
Frankie Stein vs Zombies
*******************************
Frankie Stein faces off against Dr. Vahizlok
Another one that struck me as almost iconic
***********************************
This is immediately after the one previous
This one leads right into the next:
And that leads to another glaring face down that came out pretty good:
Another Frankie Stein vs Vahizlok picture -
Quote:ooo, thanks Thirty-Seven, didn't see it in sticky and thought I must have imagined itHmmm, you said there wasn't a cool screenshots thread? Granted, it HAS been decidedly inactive for some time now.

I went looking for a sticky "cool screenshot" thread...but strangely enough there isn't one.
So, anyway, here. These are some cool screenies I captured since changing computers for my gaming:

Quote:much as I'd like to see any older map revamped...I think aiming at DA would be bestA lot of the art assets on the Trial could be part of a planned Croatoa revamp, possibly shifting it from 25-34 to 30-40, and opening it up to villains too as a co-op zone - although I'm not sure if they'd follow up First Ward with another zone that had quiote so many similar basic story elements in it - but the zone itself would totally suit the new more detailed textures and geometries for hills, cliffs, tress, grass and flowers that they used in FW.

first time did this with a reasonable PuG, second time with good friends...several other times with PuGs
got the It's Alive badge EASILY on four or five characters
made a frankenstein girl to get it again....elec/stone dom
and I've failed five times to get the it's alive badge....it's pretty aggravating -
I suggested this as an option for Beam Rifle in reference to characters like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAJOcG-CAwA
I know Nanoha is the most well known, but "magic staff used like a rifle" is something I've seen in a few places...Nanoha is just the easiest example to find -
Quote:Spore burst is a targeted AoE rather than a cone, making it useful for delaying unintentional adds that are outside the common battle area...a cone cuts straight through that battle area or requires repositioning which might take enough time for the adds to get in the common area and thus cause the sleep to be of limited use.And yet we have Spore Burst in Plant control.
You're very right about it being lengthened, I must have been looking at the lvl 1 values. The idea for the power was to make it somewhat of a useful cross between Spore Burst and Fearsome Stare. It's also there to not take, again reflecting Spore Burst.
Quote:Heheh, got lazy while building it so I didn't check the actual values on CoF. Something like a cross between Chill of Night(that PBAoE that Dark Servant runs) and Cloak of Fear would probably better fit the set. With increased accuracy, that is.
Quote:Again, got lazy towards the end, but I totally agree. How about a Penumbral Grasp equivalent for the beast? I'm picturing something like a black colored Greater Devoured covered in black tendrils aura.
the main purpose of a control set is to control the pace and flow of battle, not to do damage, so while damage is important, make sure your pet's main task is to control the enemy
Ivy immobilizes and slows
Rocky and Phanty taunt
Frosty freezes and slows
Spot holds and kbs
the only set with pets that don't have a control aspect is Fire, and that's due to Fire's semi-hybrid status -
Quote:Well, actually, Mjolnir was just a really, really damaging hammer that was very unwieldy to use because it was created with too short a handle due to Loki's interference since he was trying to win a bet over the quality of items crafted by two dwarvesI want weapons that are the source of the power...
For example a Mjolnir is a Hammer with the Power of Lightning. Thor get's hit lightning powers from his Hammer...without his hammer he doesn't have the lightning.
as far as I know Thor was the God of Storms because he hit like thunder, not because he actually used thunder...most of the time, raw elemental powers in Norse myth were equated with evil monsters...predominately, Thor was a farmer's/laborer's/soldier's God.
Quote:Likewise there is Captain Cold and Mister Freeze, both of which have Ice guns. Take them away and they are powerless.
I've always wanted an actual fire sword where the sword has fire powers and is the primary weapon instead of having to have some not quite what I want power set.
I don't see the problem that something like this would pose as Blasters are already melee secondary so have weapons that are largely melee but can have ranged powers should be an issue.
As far as secondaries I think melee secondaries alright for the idea but i'd propose a new style of secondary where they are largely innate that turn on and off based on power usage...something like where the more Brutes attack the stronger they get but instead of "stronger" a secondary power turns on at a given level so to maintain it being on you have to keep going. -
She's one of the classics...supposedly, so's my stuff, but eh...I'm mostly doing my own stuff now...hopefully I'll see fanfic of it myself sometime

Quote:No, I got the mask badge first year badges came out by hunting in DA...however...there were only one or two spots in DA that spawned them and it was a really slow rate...took me a monthCorrection: This used to be a pretty good time of year for the masks badge because the bit of Talos by the DA gate was almost the only place outside a mission to find them. Fun trivia for the new kids - While Dark Astoria is and always has been full of Banished, for many years mask bosses did not spawn in the wild - only the tiki bosses, who don't count toward the badge.
However, as of several issues ago Banished masks do spawn in DA, and anyone can get the badge easily in under an hour sweeping Moth Cemetery. So, the excuse of perpetual darkness being an advantage to badge hunting is no longer valid.
So yeah, I also think it's annoying. I think of Halloween as that special time of year when I don't bother designing or editing costumes because there's no decent light anywhere to judge them by. For the light deprived, I recommend hanging out in Ouroboros. Also, door missions on outdoor maps will be sunny, so work on your arc contacts.
The sun might be back on November 2nd but honestly I wouldn't count on it. The devs have a history of extending holiday events, often way beyond the point of common sense. -

was my first reaction
Really, they announce incredible changing storylines, retcon, and start over again so often that I have to say that past the mid 90s, Marvel and DC became fanfiction....and not good epic Krista-Perry-Hearts-of-Ice quality fanfic, but more some of the unnameable stuff -
Quote:I stopped regularly reading marvel back in the late 90s, but occasionally dip in when one of my favorite characters gets featured.Dude, that looks nothing like the cartoon....
(Seriously, my X-men knowledge comes from the 90s cartoon and the movies. I assume that has something to do with the comics, but... *whoosh* over my head :7)
This is Jubilee's most recent development:
Not sure where I stand on this.
A) it shows more of the tendency that current Marvel and DC stories are bad fanfiction and prone to retcon because, as of sometime in the 80s, vampires were extinct in Marvel
B) Hannibal King shows that vampires can be good guys in Marvel
C) Everyone that became a vamp was cured EXCEPT Jubilee
D) It could be a good development but smacks of something that will be shortly retconned
Overall, I just shrug at it and chalk it off to Marvel being Marvel -
saw a Scooby Doo once upon a time, a year or two back, in normal game play
also, I've wanted to play a tabletop game recently where the characters are essentially minor-powered creatures/psychics trying to find other monsters/stuff and, aside from each other, never find anything but Scooby Doo ish hoaxes -
Quote:Fixed that for you:I remembered screens!
Wyld Fyre, aka Jae Smith as Jubilee since 2005, though it really wasn't perfect til the sparkles aura
btw, hate the new vampiress face....it's ugly and doesn't respond to scales so the ugliest part of it (the blocky jaw) can't be altered -

pretty much all of Castle Rat's costumes are cosplay:
will have to do a Celty now
also, my daughter of a death God that I brought over recently
