    Spring Cleaning!

    Hello all!

    Here's the story. I'm an alt-aholic. I love playing around with character concepts/powerset combinations/ect. I often try things on different servers to keep from running out of room on any given server.

    Of course, I don't have time to play them all, and with the ability to now email their assets to characters that will use them, I decided to do a little spring-cleaning and release some names to give other players who would (ideally) actually play them.

    So, I release to you, the fine people of Victory, the names:

    Shadowkiss
    Dancer of the Storm
    Pathcrosser
    Gehenrieta

    Enjoy!

  10. Congratulations, Sister Twelve. I'll have to try your arc out soon

    I didn't know there was a place where arcs were being submitted past just emailing them Dark_Respite. I had submitted one as well if you want to add it to the list for anyone wanting to try it.

    Title: "Bad Vibes"
    Arc ID: 379256
    Author: @Lycantropus
    Synopsis: What starts out as helping War Witch aid an old friend, turns into a desperate fight to save the heroes of Paragon City!
  11. Thanks again for the newest round of answers! I'm hoping you'll get back to a couple of mine in the next round, but 'til then here's a few more I was thinking about recently concerning the Council/5th Column.

    Time is very jumbly-wumbly-timey-wimey stuff when you're beebopping around in it, so can be a little confusing. A little clarification please!

    1) Requiem. The stories briefly cover that both Nictus (Requiem and Arakhn) followed the Center and went over to the Council. The Imperious Task Force has him leading the 5th Column once more, yet I don't recall any mention of him in the Dr. Khan Task Force.

    1a) So is Requiem currently the head of the revived 5th Column in the present as well, or is the Imperious TF about something Requiem did in the past and we've just now discovered; but is ancient history to him in the present? (trust me, this makes sense if you read it slowly )

    1b) Are the 5th Column forces in the Dr. Khan TF all from that alternate universe and now are establishing themselves as the new 5th Column on Primal Earth, or were they from here and chose Reichsman as their new leader. Are there any plans (game wise) at a merger or battle between Reichsman and Requiem in the future (assuming Requiem has re-taken the lead of the 5th Column in the present)?

    The next set of questions kind of contain spoilers because they're end-content missions...

    *spoiler alert*

    It would make sense that Requiem would seek to take over the 5th Column again after he escaped prison due to the events in "The Final Darkness" but we see them at The Center's side in Viridian's "Conference of Evil". Does that take place story wise before or after the events in "The Final Darkness"?

    **Assuming "The Conference of Evil" takes place before "The Final Darkness":

    2a) If Requiem escaped imprisonment and has re-taken the 5th Column to continue the Nictus' plans, will we (in game) be hearing from Arakhn again, and a continuation of that story (and their relationship)?

    **Assuming "The Final Darkness" takes place before "The Conference of Evil"

    2b) What are Arakhn and Requiem doing under The Center's control again? It's implied The Center is a mutant whose power is to charm or inspire loyalty, but knowing what the two of them want, why would he still keep them around, or alive even? If this is the case, will we be seeing more of that story in the future?

    If you made it through this, thank you for taking the time! It's all very jumbled story wise but I'd really love to hear how it all fits together, because it does seem like there's more to it there.

    Again, thanks for working to help make more of the story clearer/deeper for those who want to know!
  12. Name: The Host With the Most
    Arc ID: 4182
    Creator Global Name: @Lycantropus
    Synopsis - A twisted tale of revenge... and fruit pies. This arc promises a hint of nostalgia for late 70's-80's comic book fans!
    Difficulty Level: Medium
    Level Range – 5-40
    Story Type – Humor/Nostalgia
    Villain Groups – Family, Custom Group, Security Guards
    Mission Count: 5
  13. First off, again, thank you Manticore for continuing to read these and try and put the pieces together for us

    That said, I just got done reading the "City of" novels again, and have a few questions:

    1) I asked this before but didn't really get an answer. According to Stefan (Lord Recluse), Arachnos was responsible for the rise of fascism in Italy. Is there any connection between Arachnos and The Council (the fascist arm of the 5th Column that seperated from them). If so, did Arachnos play a part in that seperation? Seems kind of auspicious that they broke from the 5th column (Issue 3) shortly before Lord Recluse and Arachnos goes public with their control of the Rogue Isles (Issue 6)...

    2) Now with the comics, we know what happens to Protean, but what happens to Dr. Null and Revenant? Of course they went to jail, but are they still there? Are there any plans of incorporating them into the game? Plus are there any pictures or concept sketches of them laying around anywhere?

    3) Caroline Rossdale. Being a low level psychic even if she got out of jail I could kind of see her fading into obscurity, EXCEPT I would imagine she'd have a reaction to the Carnival of Shadows and the reappearance of "her" mask. Anything to that?

    4) And the mask itself. While it's a given Azuria lost it at some point, how did it get back to Italy to be found by Vanessa DeVore? Why didn't it just track her down in Paragon where the mask was held and where she lived anyway? (Assuming that was its goal to begin with)

    5) And lastly, as funny as this sounds, this is a serious question. With Azuria's track record and 'revolving vault door' jokes, how does she keep her position in M.A.G.I.? Wouldn't there have been some kind of inquiry or measures taken to find out what's going on, or fix the security breaches at least??
  14. Just put one up to celebrate the holiday and decided to share it with everyone. I hope that it is appropriately creepy, and I have the feeling it's going to be a difficult one, so you may want to bring friends!

    Title: A Halloween Invasion

    Arc ID: 339444

    Author: @Lycantropus

    Villains: Hellions, Circle of Thorns, Fear, Violence, and a Gnawing certainty of doom

    Length: Very Long - 5 Missions

    Difficulty: Hard

    Recommended teaming: Yes, especially for the end, though I think it's possible to solo. I was trying to create a story and a feel more than a challenge. Hopefully it is both!

    Summary: Hardcase has come to you for help against a particularly nasty demonic invasion. Something is coming to this world... Something that wants to stay here... forever. Hero or Villain, it's up to you to help keep that from happening or have the very life-force of the world sucked out of it, including yours! Pit yourself against a soul-eating horror from beyond. Not for the faint of heart!

    More MA Arcs

    When I'm ready, I'll be maxing out how many slots I can get, and I still won't have enough available for all the story arcs I'm currently producing...

    I still scratch my head at the decision to put such a thing in a war zone...
  19. I agree that moving them out of the low level zones would be a good idea.

    As far as helping curtail what's doing, why not make it so you have to select a level range you want the arc to be in when you're designing missions (1-5, 5-10, or even swing as broad as per 1-10, 10-20, etc) and treat them like the TF/SF's the system seems based on? This is particularly viable now that higher level NPC's can be 'exemplared' down, allowing all the content for mission design at all levels.

    If you're under the level range the story arc is set at, you can't play it. If you're over that range it'll EX you down like it does now.

    Now, I understand why the original decision was made to allow everyone to be auto 'sidekicked' up, because barring content by level would limit much of the audience that may appreciate an author's creativity. However, isn't the problems we're experiencing now the exact reason TF's and contacts have level requirements?

    Of course, there's always the normal sidekick/lackey option for higher level contact arcs, and perhaps if that could be worked into make that content viable (the MA counts your sidekicked level to see if you're in the right range)? That could be a good compromise. At least it would limit teams, requiring them to have at least half the team be in the appropriate level range to sidekick up the lower level characters.

    Thoughts?

    The Minions of Igneous. Where do they come from? As far as I know they are the only villain group in the game that never even gets an IMPLIED origin story. I guess the best theory is that they are the guardians of the Cavern of Transcendence, but the evidence for even that is only that when you run the Cavern of Transcendence trial, the Igneous are in there.

    [/ QUOTE ]From what I remember (and it's been a while since I've run the Hollows arc from front to back so I could be off) but I'm pretty sure the fact that the Igneous 'guard' the Cavern is incidental.

    Again, if I remember correctly, Sam Wincott's journal entries, and other clues/dialogue throughout the string of arcs, infer that they were accidentally pulled through the gateway in the Cavern and want to go home. The fact that they 'guard' it is more a matter of that's where they came out of, so they're sticking close to the gateway until they can find a way back through it.

    Ahhh, thank you wiki!

    After refreshing my memory, I've also never been able to run across a point where Sam Wincott's translations would come in handy however, so there may be more to be discovered.

    Logo= Home
    Oog= Destroy
    Koago= Leader (also the name of the Monster in the Transcendence Trial)
    Mong= Go
    Aga= our
    Golapo= name of their species

    Hm... looking at the order they come in, it could also be implied their home was destroyed and they're somehow refugees...

    I'm also curious about that Inglebert Maahs guy who had journal notes in the trial as well. Was he just some guy or did he have ties to the Midnight Club or something?
  21. 1) The vet reward where the "mandatory" missions to talk to the Field Analysts, Sam Wincott, Jim Temblor, Gordon Bower, and the PvP zone contacts are optional instead.

    Okay, that one isn't a vet reward... but I really wish it were. I get so irritated having to run a bunch of 'errands' when I get a contact in a new level range before they give me a real mission. I know those folks are there at this point and what they do and can talk to them if I want to do their arcs. Please just let me get on with the contact I'm talking to. It gives me the impression they really don't want my help

    Okay that aside

    1) Sands of Mu/Axe and the Blackwand/Nemesis Staff (though I wish the axe had a bonus to hit against the things it works best against, as most of them have ToHit debuffs as well )

    2) Base Teleporter/ Assemble the Team

    3) Respecs!!!!! (they'd be higher on the list but I'm very sparing with them. However I'm ecstatic to have them when I do need them)

    4) The Pets

    5) I almost have the travel power at 6, but not yet, so I'm sure I'll love it, but since I don't yet...

    I would list costume pieces near the top but I'm not crazy about the idea of having to wait for a vet reward to occur before I can use them in a costume if I need them to fit a concept. So while I love the trenchcoats, wing, samurai armor, and the very nice chest details for various group affiliations (wish there were more) etc. that is muted by the fact that they're vet rewards in the first place.

    EDIT: The prestige Sprints and Arachnos helmets kind of fit in that 'costume' category, but I can understand having to wait for those, and really like them a lot too.

    2) In Arachnos, do the Arbiters (as a position) pre-date Recluse's rise to power? If so, do they consider themselves truly answerable to him (as their duty is to serve Arachnos itself). I mean sure they do as matter of course, but if they felt he was a threat to Arachnos itself...

    [/ QUOTE ]
    The Arbiter's were granted their authority by Recluse relatively recently and answer only to him.

    [/ QUOTE ]Ahhh that's right, I had forgotten about those journal entries. Thanks!
