Bugs that affect the game to this extent
[/ QUOTE ]You mean, not much? I, and many others, have not been bothered by it much, at least.
And the tell bug is circumventable with /r, so that's also not much of an issue anymore aside from being a minor annoyance. Since I, personally, mostly send people tells through globals, which are unaffected by the tell bug, it actually ends up saving me from the countless "wana farm m8" tells I used to get.
Just reminding y'all not to blow things out of proportion. These bugs are hardly even close to "game-wrecking".
[/ QUOTE ]
This '/r' fix is not always even remotely useful. I've been getting tells that are completely unintelligible. Don't even have the name of the person sending them. I've tried using /r and it's been a complete waste of time. The game doesn't even appear to know who sent the tell. That sounds pretty close to wrecking peoples ability to get together on the game to me. -

you need to have the whole team in the same zone to select the mission
[/ QUOTE ]
This is so incredibly annoying. Another perfect example of the devs punishing us all for the actions of a very few. Still think this is the best game around at the moment but the frustration level is rising rapidly...
[/ QUOTE ]every though the Dev's have stated this is a bug
[/ QUOTE ]
I wish they'd get on and fix it, this and the 'tells' bug is wrecking this game at the moment. While I concede that a huge thing like CoX is going to be difficult to modify without introducing lots of bugs, they could test their changes better before releasing them. We've heard time and again about bugs discovered (and reported) on the test server which made it out into the wild. Bugs that affect the game to this extent should be fixed before release, even if it means a delay. All in my most humble opinion of course! -

IMO the Television arc was one of the best Villain-side arcs going. It was great fun - Freaks, Freaks everywhere... and the little funky Radio that I stepped on in error and quickly learned to hide from
[/ QUOTE ]
That radio's no pushover. It's definately worthy of the elite boss title it holds. Damn thing killed all my MM's pets and reduced my MM to about a third of it's health in one monumental blast. Never seen her move so fast... -

You gain new stories. If you don't particularly care about the stories then MA won't help you. Just carry on with farming or TFs or whatever you enjoy most.
Some people love reading the stories and get very bored by doing the same, familiar missions again and again. MA is for them really. (... and the people who want to write the stories!)
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a fair comment, I guess we all play for different reasons. I get bored reading mission details and just want to get on with it and have something to show for my trouble at the end.
We'll just have to wait and see how it all pans out. There are frequently lots of changes between announcement and release and no doubt they'll be tweaking it as time goes on. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not convinced this is as much of a problem as the Devs think it will be.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's like an obsession. Seems to be the in thing to penalise as many people as possible for the actions of a few. They all but killed off the GM's by reducing the reward to virtually nothing. They've made already tough missions timed to stop a tiny number of people people doing them over and over.
I do hope this mission architect thing takes off but I can see it going the way of the GM hunts if they are not very careful. -
[ QUOTE ]
It is a shame that because some people will misuse the system
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't really see how. As Mercury_Angel pointed out, since we have no control of the number or placement of mobs or even how they act, it's a bit difficult to see how this could possibly be a farmers paradise. There's not even an end of mission bonus. Nah, I can't see them taking off unless the devs rethink the rewards.
Apart from the normal missions and arcs, we have:
Endless paper/scanner missions with full reward system in place.
Endless street hunts with full reward system in place.
Player created missions with er, a bit of 'fun' as your reward.
Since the devs have turned this game into a farming game where most people feel a need to gain as much inf as possible, the player created missions are going to have to be something really special to attract more than a tiny core of die hard fans. -

While in an Architect mission, players will NOT get: end mission bonus, salvage, recipies, or enhancements.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like the MA but not the above. The mission bonus and the enhancemnets I can live without but not getting the normal rate of salvage and recipies. Too bad and boring in my op.
[/ QUOTE ]plus you missed of badges in there too
[/ QUOTE ]
But if you think about it for a moment, they really had little choice; otherwise the MA is just going to be a farmers paradise instead of what it's MEANT to be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes no sense to me to be honest. If the reward for doing these missions is so much less than even street hunting, what's the point? Unless you have a plethora of high level toons and don't need to level or gain inf, I can see no point in even looking at these missions. -
[ QUOTE ]
The problem with cutscenes is, if I recall what was said during Omega Sektor and on the boards correctly, it takes a lot of effort for the devs, y'know, the people who make the game, to make cutscenes. Even demo-editing requires going through the files and basically typing in code the positions of characters, emotes, actions and so forth, as well as power effects and dialogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
A lot of work for something that not everybody appreciates anyway
Me for instance! -
[ QUOTE ]
I would hope that eventually things like cut-scenes are able to be added
[/ QUOTE ]
Which just goes to show that you can't please everybody all the time. I hate those cut scenes with a passion. They just bring the entire game to a sudden halt for what feels like an age. if there was a way to avoid them in the game, I'd do it. -
Well lets hope if someone decides to put Lusca in their mission, they remember to include some water for it to sit in. Don't really like the idea of GM's in missions to be honest, make the things too difficult and people simply won't bother with them.

Bear in mind it has a recharge time of 2 hours.
[/ QUOTE ]
Still useful though, especially for picking up those kora fruit, it's a looooong way from Atlas to a mission in the centre of the shadow shards. Reminds me, what on earth does that scientist (Huxley?) do with these kora fruit, make breakfast with them or something? She ALWAYS wants more. -
I'll tell you what I wouldn't miss.
Getting pushed about by civilians! All I wanted to do was read a plaque and a bunch of pixels pretending to be a woman came along and pushed me back along the path and all the way around a corner! -

Your rockets don't explode?
[/ QUOTE ]
Cal's a sadist. His rockets land and do nothing for 10 seconds. Then, while the enemies are just clustering around it to see what all the fuss was about it blows up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now why didn't I think of that?
Oh, watch out for those pesky stranded women in Hollows. I blew up some explosives a bunch of villians were playing with. Didn't spot the stranded woman close by until I saw her lying at my feet. I consoled myself with the idea that since she died, she was probably actually a villian in disguise...hope so anyway. If word got around that Calamity was blowing up civilians they might ask for all those badges back. -
[ QUOTE ]
Your rockets don't explode?
[/ QUOTE ]
Have to wonder sometimes. I've seen them explode violently on a targets chest only to have the word miss scroll up the screen and the thing take not one point of damage. -
[ QUOTE ]
Now think about this thread everytime you've flown into Atlas Park and not saved someone once your past level 10. The amount of people I've flown past and gone meh... not gonna give me xp's!
[/ QUOTE ]

Be a pretty dim witted cop who risked his life when the streets are full of spandex wearing fools willing to do his job for him.
Besides, they can just study the screenshots later and send out a few fines in the post... -
Eek, no AV attacks please! I normally play squishies, they'd be flattened before they even saw the things coming if they were soloing.
[ QUOTE ]
Besides I hate the concept of non powered normals trying to kill super powered beings. That's why I loath malta (and not just completely because they are nasty as well).
[/ QUOTE ]
<rant>
I hate malta because they are seriously overpowered. If player AT's could do what malta minions do, there would be mass nerfage all round. Minions stunning and reducing endurance to zero in one hit is ridiculous. Minions using machine guns with a range greater than a blasters snipe is plain daft. Minions rezzing turrets at or above their level in about half a second while under fire...grr
</rant> -
Still working on the fires, bit of a pain not knowing how many are needed. Probably quite a few. Still, the building blowing up helps with the debt badges as well.
-
I hope that people don't fall into the frustration=fun trap when they start designing missions. Having just spent the best part of an hour and a half searching a massive CoT cave for a single item on a mission I couldn't drop, I feel qualified to mention that frustration most definately does not always equate to fun.
is it just me or has the volume of the sound the glowies make been reduced recently? I had to turn the volume up a hell of a lot to hear the things, then turn it back down again so my eardrums survived the fights. -

sewers works for me
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't stand the stench. Still, at least it's only for a short time. Just think of the poor guy who has a job down there waiting for the odd hero to stumble into the place and click on him. Most would probably just ignore him anyway - how's that for a thankless job?
