I've recently sort of changed my view of the game a bit, and it's given it new life to me.
I've transferred a lot of characters over to virtue, and started anew there.
So, I like
1)VERY open concept system for character creation. I can /practically/ be anything I want.
2)Combat is satisfying and visually impactful.
3)Teaming is simple to setup and lots of fun.
4)One of too few MMORPGS with some genuine RPG going on. Heck, I recently joined a group I encountered in Pocket D for a RP team to explore some custom (AE) missions. I was a demon helping them get to the bottom of a conspiracy involving hell itself, so we built mission arcs for our story and played them in-character. Total blast.
I don't like
1)Some class/power balance issues can have me seriously questioning whether I want fun or function, when I want both
2)I want more options... This is kind of a given, but I hunger for more! This is one of those games that can get your imagination racing, and it hurts when you realize its age and notable limitations.
3)I've spent more money on this game than I like to acknowledge. -

Name: Celtech Inc
Currently Recruiting: Always. Any hero is welcome, and any villain is as well to join our identically named villain group. Those looking to fit into the company from an RP standpoint may need to work something out.
RP Level: RP rather encouraged, but not strictly required. Levels are very moderate to heavy. We use a OOC global channel.
PvP Level: Nothing hosted currently.
Theme/Concept: A tech organization forged anew from the remnants of a longbow seized villain corp. Celtech Inc now prides itself on expanding the knowledge of the world and using its research to back projects that help the world's many heroes do what they do best. This spans far more than just technology, however.
Activity: We host particular things every now and then, but it's mostly done according to a weekly recurring schedule. Tuesday for Tips, Saturday for Strike Targets. We have quite a few active and friendly members that are on daily, or very close to it. Members on mostly in the afternoon and evenings(PST)
Requirements for Membership: Nothing particularly strict is needed to get in. Simply arrange to contact me in game or use our website, and we can work things out from there.
Leadership: Dr. Hault is the current group leader.
In-Game Contact(s): @LtZerge, @Vashu
Out-of-Game Contact(s): You can contact us through our website.
URL: celtechinc.guildportal.com
Coalition(s): Five supporting groups. We're still looking to forge a larger network of active coalitions.
Other Details: We're rather new to this server so we're still forging an identity, but we look to be an active and content driven group of players that know how to cooperate and have some fun! -

After a certain point it does start feeling automatic. It's good to take a break every now and then too. My current project room is just over 2000 desks and it's barely half done, with few details added yet.

I'm just here to pitch some power suggestions I've been thinking of.
First off, we need an orbital laser type judgement power.
Think a heavy DoT psuedopet. It would sort of function like a Tornado clone, being summoned at a location then chasing down targets and inflicting damage.
*Lunar Judgement*
Orbital Strike. Initial AoE burst damage[Radius 25'], DoT aura (Radius 15') Base lifetime (10s)
-Total Core: More direct damage and DoT, inflicts minor -def/-res.
-Total Radial: Longer duration(15s), causes knockdown on affected foes.
Next, the advent of Titan weapons got me thinking about something we could do. A sort of heavy weapon set. Think mini-guns.
*Heavy Gunnery*
You weild a heavy weapon such as a minigun. This weapon is very powerful, but can take a while to warm up. Attacking with most abilities makes further attacks execute faster. This rapid fire can't be maintained permenantly, however.
-Light burst (Single)
Medium Damage, spinup
You fire off a few rounds from your weapon at the target. Firing these rounds spins up your weapon
-Heavy Burst (Single)
High Damage, spinup
You fire off several rounds from your weapon at the target. Firing these rounds spins up your weapon
-Spray (Cone)
High Damage, spinup
You lay down a spray of rounds from your weapon at your targets. Firing these rounds spins up your weapon
-Suppressive Fire (Cone)
Medium Damage, slow, -def, spinup
You fire heavy amounts of rounds around your opponents to injure their mobility. Foes are left with reduced defence and speed. Firing these rounds spins up your weapon
-Spin Up (buff)
+Full spinup, +Dmg
You immediately spin up your weapon. You instantly gain full spin and a short duration damage bonus
-Incendiary Grenade (AoE) [No spin]
Medium Damage, DoT, knockback
You launch a single incendiary grenade from your weapon. This grenade knocks back targets and can leave them burned, causing fire damage over time. The grenade function requires no spinup time
-Focused Fire (Narrow Cone)
Superior Damage, -res, spinup
You unleash heavy amounts of rounds on your targets in a narrow range. The targets are left shredded, reducing their resistance. Firing these rounds spins up your weapon
-High Calibur (Single) [No spin]
Light Damage, Knockback, Stun
You fire off a single high calibur round. This round is powerful enough to knock over many opponents and leave them stunned. Firing off a single round requires no spinup time
-Heavy Spray (Cone)
Extreme damage, -def, -spinup
You lay down an extremely heavy spray of rounds on your targets doing major damage and reducing their defenses. Such heavy use burns out your weapon, resetting your spin up
Seem sensible? Any suggestions? -
Yep. Spooked me well enough...
I went to use the TPs on my mastermind (lvl44) and was vaporized by the elite turrets I have sitting in the room ._. -
I noticed rather recently that all the mastermind's pet enhancement details in the enhancement management screen list "Mastermind Archetype Sets" as a slotable enhancement type. What's this about?
The term 'mastermind archetype set' is to general to yield proper search results, so I'm sorry if it has been answered. -
*head desk*
Does this mean what I think it does? -
I don't know many people that do it like I do. I just became so used to the "Left Hand Toolbar" that many programs use that it's second nature to me.
-
Yep. They're considered normal tangible pets, so they'll make use of the IO bonus auras.
-
You know, I'll be honest. When I first saw pics of this set, I honestly thought I was being duped by ZNRGY.
-
Unfortunately for... everyone. Pet AI behavior is set as a universal pattern. There's no specific ways to make a pet prefer ranged or melee or what ever.
Ever since demon summoning introduced the pet's "shoot them then punch them" AI behavior, all the pets have been doing it. This is wonderful for Demons, and zombies and the like... hell for everybody else.
They REALLY need to find a way to give different pets different AI groups so they act properly. -
It isn't a damage AoE, and it will mess with your placate bad if the enemy is in it... but it's useful on other ways.
Caltrops + A corner = Instant easy escape.
Caltrops + A Large mob = Confused enemies -
Quote:Indeed, Set bonuses do not give bonuses to the pets, only you. However, these bonuses are still very useful for you, especially Blood Mandate's varied defense bonuses. Tanker-minds love that set.I've only played one MM since I started playing CoH, and is thinking about renew(b) another. Before that I'd like to rid myself of all the confusion I had when I first started MM.
1) First of all, I've always been quite confused about how enhancement works with pets. Some told me that straight +damage/accuracy would give my pets a better edge since set IO bonuses do not apply to them, but I checked out forums and saw many people uses set IO for their pets, such as Blood Mandate.
Quote:2) My previous MM was Bot/Poison and I find killing quite easy, albeit not as engaging. I saw people utilizing Traps a lot, what is its pros? My first villain was a energy/traps corruptor and the experience was rather dull, mainly due to almost all abilities have long CD.
Quote:3) I saw many builds without Leadership powers. I though they are essential for MM since Leadership applies to all pets (and self)?
Quote:4) As a bots user, do I pick any of rifle powers or should I skip them and go for other stuff?
Quote:5) What are some of the 'styles' of a MM? I saw Tankermind, assuming it's a MM build that focus on tanking things for me. Are there other variations?
There's also variations that try to allow the mastermind to become one with his pets, not just a buff-bot, meaning the mastermind has many offensive abilities to stay in the fray (Personal Attacks, PBAoEs, Pool Powers). I like doing this with melee base pets like zombies/. I'm always kicking butt and whipping faces with my Demon/Therm MM.
There's also the pet-less mastermind with just support powers and personal attacks. I've seen people do this, but it's really only viable thematically. You end up like a neutered defender.
Think that about does it. Hopefully others can fill in what I missed. -
/Dark I'd imagine. /Thermal is nice, but /dark's -tohit stacks so beautifully with enforcer's leadership that it will give you the best survivability while offering very good debuffs. Using things like howling twilight as a potent offensive debuff and not just a rez will also make it a beast on the attack, especially against AVs.
/Thermal still works, but it doesn't have nearly the same synergy -
At level 24 you do get two protector bots. They will stack the shields on your bots, however they will not stack them on you. You only get one shield at a time.

What REALLY Baffles me is that males don't get access to any shorts outside of the vet reward pieces @_@ that's just weird
-
Yes, actually, there are bosses on the Cim wall. They're rare to come by though, and I find they're mostly doing the patrols up along the top.

Early reviews from Parade magazine and (Spoilers)Ain't it Cool News(Spoilers) seem to think that the film is, at least, not-so-suckish.
This gives me hope. From what I've read I can raise my personal expectations a bit. Supposedly the first part of the movie will be very plot heavy (wut?) lead into developments, and wrap up with about an hour of pure action in the Chicago invasion. Gets me excited. -
SG/VG Name: Celtech Inc. (VG)
Public relations: Our Forums
Peak teaming hours: 4-10pm PST
Amount of PvP: Little, especially after the 'change'
Amount of Powerleveling: Teaming on hard settings is as PL as it gets.
Amount of Drama: Essentially none.
Size of Base: Medium/Large.
Requirements: Anyone welcome, really. As long as you're not outright disobeying rules like raking in all the salvage from racks and selling them. Activity enforcement is pretty light, I'll kick only if we run out of room and even then that's only starting with least active persons. If you want to get anywhere in the VG, VG mode should be on.
Guild Description: We're an old VG, with a want to thrive. We're based around an ex-hero Corporation out to dominate the world, one pathetic soul at time. The company's old specialty was nano-tech, or more specifically interacting nanites, built under the philosophy that many smaller things interacting will become greater than the some of their parts.
Leaders: @LtZerge
Captains: @DarkDrew, @Cigar Face
Voice Chat: We had a vent channel that was shared with another VG's vent server, but they're gone now. We don't have a new one yet. -
I'd like to see lots of things, of course, but few I'll post that haven't already been mentioned.
Magic casting effects for many powers, so you invoke spells against your targets in a more obvious looking fashion. Demon Summoning has a terrific example of these already with its summon and upgrade power animations.
I'd like to see ice and rock armor gain 'smooth' variants of their shields. No more jagged lumps, but a smooth body coating instead. This can help get around some obscuring things, especially with ice. Heck, a smoothed ice Armour with the right color would look like a power armor shield, and that would be neat.
I know customizing weapon based powers isn't here yet, but I'd love to see an LRM animation where you pull out an actual missile launcher, not just fire one from a regular rifle. Given the long animation and interrupt, it give's one an opportunity to give the animation some depth. Pull out the launcher, flip open the targeting sight, and aim then fire. FESHEEEEW KABLAMO!
Give gun drone a different pet option. Some sets already use this, like earth control, so safe to assume it's possible. I'd like something sorta reminiscent of a tau heavy gun-drone, if possible. (Also please make gun drone not suck, most underwhelming T9 ever, but that's another topic)
Edit: Ah, and a taller tornado ala water spout. That actually looks like a mini twister, not just a nasty sidewalk dust-nado. -
I'd like to see placate restore hidden state, straight up. Not just the crit and invisibility, but also restore a hide like defense bonus. That would help solve a lot of grief around attempting to set up a crit after placate, also making mid-fight assassination's more practical.
If they fix placate, give it a debuff of its own as well. A special -def -res to the target. Essentially they've completely let their guard down. Not sure if it should be enhanceable for -def sets in that case. Procs could re-break the poor thing.
Assassination damage should be partly non-resistable by the target when used from hidden state. As in, the crit portion of assassination should be 'special' damage, so as to circumvent resistances. It seems to make sense that way. Only problem I can see is that it would render some T9 pops from NPCs completely null... whether that's a bad thing or simply adds a good niche ability is debatable I guess. Used on those high resistance foes, Assassination would be absurd. Too much so? Could always lower the un-resisted damage amount if it's too much.
Let stalker build up be a true 100%, thanks.
Finding a way to make assassination's damage scale to foe rank would be great as well. Similar to the way scrapper critical rates increase against higher rank foes.
These are all changes I'd like. Maybe all at once these would render a stalker rather OP if not careful, but well implemented I would love it. -
Hmm, in my opinion.
Dead Head Ted (D^3 Defender)
Ghastelle (Zombie/Pain MM)
Shadow Ops (Merc/Dark MM)
I have plenty of others, obviously, but these always stick out for me.
