Yeah I missed the 'in real time', I think ym briain is addled today.

    EG:
Sorry the win goes on. Did you not get the memo that suckage is no longer part of CoX ?

(aside from MOG) *ducks and runs*

    [/ QUOTE ]

MoG continuing to suck is the only thing that grounds me in reality.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You might want to avoid the Training Room in the near future, then.

[/ QUOTE ]MoG is getting improved huh? Does this mean Dark Armor can get a real tier 9 then to? *puppy dog eyes*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey, I like my tier nine! Leave it alone!

    [/ QUOTE ]....

I think you are one of the few that actually likes soul transfer.

  3. Pushing characters to their limits? Ultimus maybe considered doing that, if you ignore everyone else who has come before him for the past two years, and were doing the exact samethigns he is bragging about now, only without the aid of inventions to help them. And sorry you haven't heard of me, cause I sure have never heard of you Peace_on_Earth.
  4. If you are referring to that post, then you didn't read it, it did include burn patches, sorry Ultimus.
  5. Thugs do a massive amount of AE to and not just lethal. It was a post a few weeks back with a spreadsheet showing damage comparably.
  6. Thugs have already been proven even with burn patches, to do more damage than bots

if you dont care about the shield then it shouldn't even be a question for you. Go Mu. Personally I think you're obsessing over much about burn patches, but whatever floats your boat.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Hm, i was under the impression that Bots burn patches were a very big portion of Bots/ damage output, and that getting a decent immob was pretty high on the priority list. Because of that i figured it would be better to get Mace, due to getting the immob at 41, not 44. But just how much does it matter that the mobs don't stay in the patches that long?

[/ QUOTE ]Bot Burn patches aren't that much more damage, and any immob will serve the purpoe for the burn patch, even ghost widow. What people take mu for is because bots cause knockback which is bad for things like poison trap, tar patch and similar Targetted AE powers.

Furthermore, bots might have their silly burnpatch but my thugs are just ripping things apart anyways. It's making me think of building a thugs/trap MM now to combine the sickest combos.
  8. Maybe you should go back up and read. I don't have Mace mastery. I don't use a patron shield. Poison Trap is essentially up tehre on my list of what I consider OP considering it can hold a PToD AV. I watch my friend do it all the time. Not to mention the fact that it's just stupidly silly the IO set up he has in it that is doing gobs of damage to boot.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Like I said, its because Positron does -Def. Positron gave me no trouble at all. In fact, I just beat a second version of him that was +1 to me. (Most AV's are even level when on Relentless)

I tank AV's too and sometimes I don't even use Bodyguard because I don't need it.

[/ QUOTE ]You must be lucky, because when I fight on relentless, unless I am at the mission level cap, all AVs are +2 to +3 to me. And I know you don't want to hear this, but Positron also does -RES to. So bodyguard was essentially saving you.
  10. Scorpions shield doesn't protect from everything Ultimus. It protects from smashing, lethal, little energy and toxic. Most of the enemies you will be facing in your level range will be doing ice and fire damage as well as some other attack types.

And if your pets are down for the count, then you are two shots away from death except from a minion.

Resistance matters little to a mastermind. That's what bodyguard is for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree, Resistance fills holes. There will be times when your Defense is bypassed. There are opponents with high accuracy, to-hit buffs, and -Defense debuffs. When your defense fails, having 42% resistance to smash/lethal/energy is nice. Especially since most things that do -Def are Energy or Lethal.

Additionally, it reduces the damage your henchmen take when you get hit while in Bodyguard mode.

Finally, resistance sets allow you to slot Steadfast protection for a global +3% defense.

I dislike Scorpion's shield since it will not stack with +Range and +Melee defense which you find in a lot of IO sets.

[/ QUOTE ]Well disagree all you want, but if your bodyguard defense is being bypassed, the piddly patron shield isn't going to save you as your most likely dead to begin with.I have levelled from 1 to 50 on a thugs/dark mastermind, and I tank with said mastermind quite regularly and solo AVs myself. The only AV that has ever given me trouble is Positron. I don't even bother running my patron shield anymore, I only have it because it's better than having that silly blast power, and it get's me to my immob and hold.

What matters is learning how to position your pets before you do any tankerminding, and since I have provoke to begin with, that's all I do is tankermind and take all the hits.

Just like when I got asked why I never bothered to send pets first. Because I take more damage and being mezzed for a short duration to retoggle myself is less of an inconvenience than resummoning six pets are.

I got a question for ya Ultimus; Do AVs run away from your burn-patch, or do they just sit and fry?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They fry because I web grenade them to stay.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Huh? I thought they had mega-mez-protection? Or does that not count immob?

    [/ QUOTE ]

you can stack immob spamming WG. It takes a lot to immob an AV but they'll still get slowed. if you have the mace PPP web, they will stack faster.

[/ QUOTE ]Only takes mag 6 immob to immob an AV. PToDs don't protect from immob or sleep.

until i see him solo recluse, without any other temp powers, including base bonuses, im not impressed. Arbegla 2.0 did it on test, with a hand full of purples, and 80% of it was luck. Good luck man.

[/ QUOTE ]Hrmm, you know I don't think I have done Usurper yet on my MM... since I don't recall having the badge, or really giving a [bleep} about it since I just wanted the patron powers themselves... But maybe I should give it a shot now. Turn Recluse around stay in BG, and keep his regen down I might have a shot... unlikely, but still. Thank Heaven I took up rpovoke, I am loving the new approach I am using with my Thugs/Dark ^_^
  15. Uhh, Ultimus, MMs have been owning AVs single handedly for quite sometime now. The only AV I have ever had trouble with on my MM is Positron.
  16. You know, I always thought Lord errm Mender Silos would always sound like that. Has that sort of Vincent Price sound to it, but definitely top notch I enjoyed it alot hehe. But you guys gave so much foreshadowing away in that to.
  17. [u]Name[u]: Academie de Vindicta

    [u]Currently Recruiting?[u]: Actively Recruiting.

    [u]RP Level[u]: Light Role-Play Group

[u]Theme/Concept[u]: Academie de Vindicta is a school based out of Aeon University in Cap au Diable. The idea is something similar to probably Xavier's School in X-Men comics, but aimed more at a Vengeance oriented goal (Probably be more something Magneto would make as opposed to Xavier).

[u]Activity[u]: We have a number of active members, that tend to be on at differing hours within the day, some being on more often than others.

[u]Requirements for Membership[u]: Open to all who wish to join. Our only request is that you look forward to building a family, not a guild, as that is what the Academie is about.

[u]Leadership[u]: Poca Muerte, FelFox, and Delta Eclipse

    [u]Contacts[u]: @Silverspar, @FelFox

[u]Out of Game Contacts[u]: Silverspar and FelFox

[u]URL[u]: http://adv.stormdragon.org Site is still a work in progress.

[u]Coalitions[u]: Several, though we are always looking for more possible coalitions.

[u]Other Details[u]: Academie attempts to provide the best for it's members as we like to promote friendship and a family type of atmosphere for our members. The base is fully functional and ever growing, and we have pride in our membership in the dedication they give without even being asked. We try to give back to our members in ways such as offering them actual rooms to build and construct for their own personal private spot, as well as offering as many luxury options in the base proper. We are not a PvP or a Raiding based VG so we go for both aesthetic as well as ergonomic set ups.

No slight intended to the villains out there! The Praetorians are still my favorite CoH creation and Ghost Widow's journal pieces are my pick for best Manti-lore.

YOOUUUUU!!!! Dammit! \./ You people really need to attribute authorship publicly. Since it was part of the website I thought it was Arctic's.

Ghost Widow's Journal is the piece of CoX writing with the absolute best "voice" I have ever seen. I adore it. I'm so glad it's up on a webpage where I can go back and look at it.

Write more of it. No, I'm not even kidding.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, GW's journal was my baby and I loved writing every entry. Your request for more is duly noted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe I'm just blind or dumb, but my search-fu has failed. Any chance we can get a link?

[/ QUOTE ]Well first you have to get off that eye straining blue site called city of heroes and go to the City of Villains site. Ghost Widow's Jounral is under the Fiction section.

And more Ghost Widow's Jounral would be much appreciated Manticore. Also I would like alot more history on the Rogue Isles and how it pertains to Paragon City. Can I just say it's rather sparse comparably speaking to Paragon City.

There has been a fair amount of "I feel ripped off" "I lost money" etc, type stuff. Perhaps not from you, but its been somewhat widespread in the various threads.

[/ QUOTE ]Mostly because those people want to feel jipped or something. Anyone that feels ripped off or jipped, as it were, are delluding themselves on the highest level honestly. If you have been playing the game for any time period with both sides active for quite a qhile now then, you are not being ripped off or jipped. You have a long time up on people who did not have both sides.
  20. More than a few hours actually. Since it's November second now and CoVs birthday si October 31st
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    Happy Birthday CoV.

With your constantly diminishing population, I really hope you make it to another one.

[/ QUOTE ]Villain side is diminishing? News to me.
  22. Happy Birthday Villains. Let's give em Hell
  23. We definitely shouldn't lose our accolades from malefactoring,e specially wiht the new ones that have recently come out and probably many more to come in the future. Elusive mind would be useful to me in lower level zones, and when I am malefactored being able to use my blasted construction table would help to.
  24. I would request, while they are making willpower more subtle, please make rage from super strength more subtle to. On small body types the rage aura is a major distraction.

Nemesis at the end of the Dark Watcher Arc bluntly tells you he uploaded his intellect to the Rikti Mental Network.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, he tells you, in true James Bond villain fashion, that he's going to upload his mind into the Rikti mental network. You then proceed to pound on him until his rivets burst, and he never even makes it to the portal.

[/ QUOTE ]Did he not make it though? that's the question *Dr. Evil pinky*
