On a side note I love the detail and char bios on your virtue vrs. In particular Dredge and Ghoro and look forward to reading the others whenb you finish them.
hmmmmm, maybe I need to investigate and figure out this V verse myself.. kinda like the idea of writing my chars stories.. lest some of them. -

I can't agree with this and if you ran that all boss CoT mission in beginning of Midnighters arc on any of your 50s for example, I doubt you would either. Unless of course you lowered your game diff. For me tho making my enemies weaker so I can slot only 1 acc is not desirable.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like that you make the assumption I only play on easy. I can easily make the assumption that your skill isn't quite up to par for playing on harder difficulties and that's why you find those missions difficult with 1 accuracy, but you wouldn't like that.
So, let's be fair and say your milage may vary and 1 accuracy has worked for me through most of the game's content, including Invincible lvl 50 STF's, LGTF's, ITF's, Midnighter's arcs, AV soloing, etc. If you are having difficulty in your experiences then please ask the appropriate question next time instead of making fault assumptions about other players.
[/ QUOTE ]
The only assumption I meant to imply is when my lvl 50 slotted 2 acc AND leadership and a few global acc gets reduced to 30-40% chance to hit fighting 2-3 +3 CoT dark using bosses...Your skill would have to be WAY above the bar and well above my humble skill to succeed same mission with one less ACC SO. If so kudoes to you, but hardly think that such a skilled player should give the newer players the idea that slotting less acc works for all playstyles.
And again as I stated before there are also even exception in certain powers that offer def buff/debuffs
I mention work well with only 1. If you claim to not be one of the set/combos I mentioned, I honestly would say I do not believe you, but if you were to prove it I would be mightily impressed and would not begrudge you that your skill surpasses mine.. you would not be first and doubt you'd be last to fall in that heading. -

The "50% vs 95%" figure is only true if you're fighting mobs that have no accuracy or toHit buffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
...which I would guess would be the majority of what you fight in your career prior to hitting 50. There are mobs out there defense won't help against, but for most things, when that defense gets debuffed, you're looking at near double levels of incoming damage in PvE.
I don't care about the giant eyeballs and quartz crystals. There's a reason why most people hate both and avoid fighting them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Note: The only mobs without +accuracy are even con minions. Lieutenants gets 15% accuracy, Bosses 30%, AVs/GMs get 50%. Additionally, for each level above your own, they get 10% accuracy (+1 = +10%, +2 = +20%, etc). Caveat: Past +5 enemies cap at +50% level based acc, and get tohit bonuses as well.
So a +2 lieutenant, for example, would have a 69% chance to hit a character with no defense. Scaling up a bit further, a +3 boss would have an 84.5% chance to hit a character with no defense.
Ironically, it makes the threat of weaker enemies scale up more than stronger enemies.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I think the irony lies in that that +3 boss with 68% chance hits me like 95% of the time and me with my 95% chanceto hit, hits about 68% of the time
I mean if I had a dollar for everytime I wooshed like 5 times in a row with my combat window saying 95% chance to hit you rolled a 97.6% or whatever.. well I'd buy you all a free couple months of game time -
[ QUOTE ]
1 accuracy is all you'll ever need. It's relatively easy to use IO sets to get global accuracy raised another 10%+ if you really feel you need it. Not to mention the to hit buff powers available to all ATs (depending on build, of course) in one or more powers (Tactics, Focused Accuracy, Build Up, Aim, etc.)

We have 18 ATs right now

I'm missing 4. 5 standard hero, 5 standard villain, 2 epic hero, 2 epic villain, what are the other 4?
[/ QUOTE ]
Two are because Widows and Soldiers can branch off into other paths and can be something totally different, so while they aren't really a new "AT," they have a totally different role and function.
The other two you can either blame on Huntsmen or khelds who are built as human-only rather than with forms. But whatever you do, DON'T blame it on my quick mental math being off because I was posting early in the morning before work while getting dressed.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking all 4 blame on VEATs Fortunat/Widow/Bane/Crab all very very different.
edit: That would be in addition to their starting AT, I was thinking. Which works for soldier as can stay huntsman/soldier..go Bane.. or crab.. but that would not work so well for wido as they become Forts or remain widows.. so sorry.. still short one lol -
Also why I only mentioned AV/hero in beginning, been loooong time since I even attempted a GM

My DM/DM has and can solo AV/hero's even without temp powers depending on given AV/hero dam type and ress weaknesses.
Few years back he soloed Scrapyard about 4 times around 3ish am when was bored. The 100s of minions not only kept fury max but my dam buff too.
Once: when playing with him, not knowing I could. Again to show friend. 3rd time was for guy that said he knew everything about this game and soloing a GM without nukes or shivs was impossible. The fourth time was for a GM who looked like a little level 1 police hoverbot (which I thought odd for downtown Shark redside) As altho I could and did solo him I would get no rewards.. no badge..no prestige..no xp.
My only response was you did not fill the requirements lol
Back then to get credit you had to be on a team. Which I had to figure out on my own.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would have been before the +1000% AV/GM buff that was scaled back to +300% i assume

oh yes.. and before the evasive action AI too.
actually it was during or just before the rebalancing phase somewhere.. exactly when? not sure.. but do know it was close to that time they overbuffed the regen then lowered it then well... you know lol -

An altoholic is a creature who is slave to their inspiration.
No, not the skittle kind of Inspirations, I mean they are a slave to their own creativity and sense of "oooh.. now THAT would be cool!"
An altoholic is not content to run a single character from start to finish simply because at some point during the advancement process they start thinking "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if I ran a mutant plumber with a magically powered pipe wrench? Oh! And a manhole cover for a shield!"
It's not that they don't love the other characters they created; it's that the act of creation itself holds more alure to them than the feeling of accomplishment getting a character to 50th level. If anything, altism is a form of gamer's polygamy. We altoholics just can't bring ourselves to a monogamous relationship with a single character.
[/ QUOTE ]
No no, thought about the pipe/sewer cap.. but then thought "oohh know what would be cooler?!" A rat with a large bone and that sewer lid. and After bio and some fighting one-liner macros.. the urge swelled again. Oh my ratboy was cool and will relish playing him, but not right now that bone would look cool on a witchdoctgor with the tribal shield too... maybe since rats a brute, doc can be scrapper. :P

Depends on the power in question.
For example: The ST immobilize and hold in Gravity have a base accuracy of 1.20 (that's a 20% better accuracy than normal, translates to 90% base to-hit) For those powers, only one accuracy is fine. However the AoE hold has lower accuracy than normal, I use 2 or more for powers like that.
Check the accuracy rating on your powers before you decide how many to slot.
[/ QUOTE ]And also look at other powers you may have. For example, if you have a /SS tank, you can use less accuracies in your attacks because you'll have Rage, which provides an easily perma-ble 20% ToHit buff. Or if you take Tactics, that can reduce the need for accuracies, as can Followup in Claws (if you slot it for acc and recharge)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. And alot on playstyle. You team alot.. what lvl difficulty, etc.
I play odd hours sometimes so like all my chars to have at least 1 soloing relentless build if it's not thier main build.
In most my chars untill I start my sets in the top lvls I found that to survive my missions I need 2 +3 lvl SOs slotted in most attacks. Some maybe even 3. SS, inv,Claws,BS on melee and Radiation and bows on range are exceptions and often need only 1 ACC due to ac buffs or def debuffs.
note that I exclude MA from the list of exceptions even tho it's base attack's acc is higher then average. They do ok with 1 at lower lvls for me but at mid range start needing 2 acc as alot of the enemies start coming with real high smash def -
Been here long before the market, and while sometimes get into playing have many higher lvl chars that have never been.
Market's fun and useful but come or go.. I'm still a hero... unless of course I'm caving skulls in to rob a bank at the time -

Most likely just looking at your power list. Not saying viewing your slotting is impossible, but pretty sure it would be a hack used and against the EULA
[/ QUOTE ]
Thx, I just was wondering if there was an in-game mechanic for it and there's my answer
[/ QUOTE ]
Now there is a specail power in epic/patron pools and on some AT powersets and also can be found as temp power that will let you view an enemies (not an allies) indepth stats like how much -res they have vs smash.. their hit points etc, basically what you see of self when viewing the power's tab. -

hi guys,
now i tried city of heroes and i must say i'm not excited about it. the gameplay is not what i expected and the combat system is slow and not really impressive.
When i compare the gameplay to world of warcraft it's not even close. I didn't come further then a few levels, then i got bored by the game.
sorry to say this to the people that love the game
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry to hear you not liking it. The first few levels can really suck with some builds as the cool powers have to be worked towards. The combat system is different then other MMOs and just need a few days to get used to. I started here and when tried WoW didn't like thier system.. it felt cluncky to me lol. It's just the get used to thing.. played another game for few weeks once and when I came back here spent a few days looking up when wanted to look down and stuff, and even flipping the mouse controls felt wrong
Have you tried something that comes out the gate swinging?
I recently made a sonic/nrg blaster. Always kinda wanted to try one but am mostly a scrapper/brute guy. WOW .. I was real impressed. At lvl 1 I was running around Atlas and dropping lvl 3 LTs like crazy. Much faster running start then most other sets and makes my brute damage that I'm so proud of just look silly lol
Hope you give it another try there's alot of cool things in this game, some I've yet to experience even and I been here for years hehe. -

Err... You have no defense to begin with and piss poor defenses to non-energy.
[/ QUOTE ]
My lvl 50 /elec brute caps nrg res and even with the roughly only 60% s/l feels incredibly strrong and unkillable in PvE. But he's DM and he's one of the few brute sets that I feel I could not survive the level of difficulty I like to play without that heal in his attack chain.
Now PvP lmao.. he's hopeless.. his only def is his res and in pvp zone it drops dramatically. like 25% vs nrg andd about 10 or 12 or something evrywhere else. Oddly that same brute before the pvp changes often took teams of hero 5 or more before he would feel the need to pop surge. -

Great for damage mitigation as even those not feared are hit with nasty -acc

TY for this confirmation
I was pretty sure they did by the look of fear in my enemies eyes. -

Hi all,
I'm just trying to think outside the box here, but wouldn't it be easier for all of us (including the developers/programmers) if we just limited how many emails an individual is allowed to send per day?
Say Mr. Evil Spammer-Guy is currently firing out 1000 emails a day, and we limit them to only be able to send out 100 emails a day. Overall that would have a significant reduction.
The only exception would be SGs, which the developers would have to allow an exception that would allow them send emails freely to anybody on their roster.
We all know that spammers aren't in SGs, and for argument sake if they were, they could just annoy the group they belong to. Correct?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't work.. they log on to trial accounts and sit in tutorial alot.. seen em, reported em.. watched them collect names for hours uninterupted despite my petition about player chfgikltk on account global fjkldlin (or similiar) with no badges or perc, looks trial to me. Then log other accounts to spam the mail.
The Butttwipe that calls itself Shanti and seems to think because they sent me billions of unwanted spam is now my "friend" Has emailed me from 35 different globals in the last 3 months since I started counting due to curiosity -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I understand why our ignore lists are limited, with all the email spammers we are all marking/ignoring, everyones ignore list would quickly eat up server storage space if they were not. But this is also part of the problem.
If the devs were to implement a game wide, master spammer list, (which had no limit), that might help. When someone marks an email as spam it would mark it for everyone. The ignored party would not part of your own personal and limited ignore list.
That way our ignore lists are truly ignoring the morons in the game and marking an email as spam actually helps all of us.
[/ QUOTE ]
The only problem with a global spam list like that is what if you do get in game e-mails from people and hit the spam button by accident.
I know a lot of people do not use their in game e-mail, but I do for requests during my show, and I would hate to put someone legitimate on a spam list.
I personnal think there should be the ignore list and spammer list for each individual. Let the spammer list not hold as much since we know it would just cycle anyway, but this way we can have a legitimate ignore list for players that we need to ignore and not have them get booted off the list.
And just a delete all e-mail button would be fantastic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just did that recently.
Had been just multi clicking like 1000 times trying to delete all the spam an old char of mine had when somewhere in middle was an email from couple years back I had been saving from a friend of mine. Dang it, just happened to look up an see his name go on ignore list and was like GD it!! -
Stnce then order? See, told ya I miss alot.
Huh, well formula works backwards too as I never read any MM forums just made mine by copying the ones in the henchcommands supplied and they are/were flipped from that formula.
