Quote:Enemies are, by definition, contrary to your morality, and that makes them evil to you. You can't have enemies that are good, because that would mean that you know what are you doing is evil. No-one does things that think are evil (unless they think there's a better good after). No, you are confusing "enemy" and "evil". There aren't the same thing. What you are talking about are enemies. There is nothing wrong with having enemies, or trying to protect yourself from them.
But I've been in a country where the insane asylums and prisons were dumped out into a war zone, and that bred a ton of evil. The type of thing that you don't need to be told by anyone to realize how screwed up it is.
Most of us just don't see real evil in our daily lives, so we misapply the word to things we just don't approve of. But that doesn't mean that concrete, objective evil doesn't exist, just that it is effectively suppressed in most cases.
PD: If something is hard to understand, sorry. English isn't my 1st language. Sometimes it's difficult to me to express the exact thoughts. -
Quote:In Ancient Rome there was the arena: slaves killing each other and fighting beasts to dead. And it was OK then.I was actually thinking about my statement a bit while I was away from the desk, and I think I need to add a caveat.
The only core human prerogative is to forward the survival of the species. Many have a preference for forwarding their own family line.
As killing for fun is counter-productive to the species, perhaps it can be categorized as not good. -
Quote:OK, lets jail all those little kids stomping ants.People who kill animals or insects for the fun of it are not good people.
Although, animals can't really be moral the way we are - so the stuff they do can't really be called evil.
BTW you eluded my question: Are we evil? We destroy, exterminate and enslave entire races just because we can. -
Quote:You are supporting my point: the society doesn't approve it.You've never encountered evil if you believe that.
Just because someone wants to kill you or hates your way of life, doesn't mean they are evil -- you can still reconcile that if you can avoid killing each other. But when you meet a guy who skins kids alive, or who ***** a guy through a colostomy scar and gave him herpes, there is no society where that behavior is okay.
In the western world we just don't get much face-time with real evil because those people are likely to be institutionalized pretty early on. When you go to parts of the world where someone can get away with skinning little kids or forcing their parents to eat them, the society there doesn't "approve" of that behavior in any way, it's just that no one is able to stop it.
I'm not so certain of a concrete "good", but I've met enough demons to believe in evil.
In a possible society where the cruelty is the basis, that wouldn't be seen like evil.
You think you are an ant. You would think that humans are evil: they destroy your lands, they kill your people (sometimes just for the lol), they're everywhere. Are we really evil? -
Quote:You think Good and Evil are concrete, but that's not true. Good and Evil are relative to the society and environment of the individuals. But it is evil to normal people - so the Praetorians are the evil ones
What it's evil in one society, it can be good in other one. -

Quote:Well, there are 2 types of superpower mechanics not yet in the game:Well, we're going to get number four by all accounts so far, but your suggestions two and five have me curious as to what you'd suggest. I mean, I can't think of any roles our game is missing, so any new AT would kind of have to borrow slightly from anything we already have. If you can think of something else I'd love to hear it. I can think of new gameplay styles they could build towards, but it's just be revising another AT's roll to some extent (which isn't a reason not to do it I don't think, but that's just me).
- Shrinking
- Power stealing / mimicry
Sadly, both of them are very hard to implement with the current game engine, I think. -
Can we do the change (to get rid of the underscores) even if we don't have the _NA / _EU problem?

Quote:Well, one could be the leg:Well there are 20 nodes, but those last two,.... it seemed to me they want to wait to see whether there's something else WAY cooler than just tails/belts or whatnot. I'm not sure where they would be located or if they're already spoken for in terms of locale on the body.

Quote:With the Spanish is ever worse. We have not different spelling but the same word have different meanings each side of the ocean. Why don't you try the rather simple and easy Teotihuacan? Tenochtitlan? Really, how hard could it possibly be that it's butchered every time I hear someone try to pronounce it? Don't even get me started on Kaminaljuyu.
But anyways, it's rather obvious what the answer is to stop quarreling, and this is because there is no section for this so I came to the conclusion that we all need to empezar a hablar en Español.
For example:
"Coger" in Spain is "to take" when in some countries of America means "to f**k" -
Quote:That's because British like to go against the current.Yes british bodyweight measurement is actually done in stones, not kilos, pounds or any other fancy system. I believe there are 1.6 Stones to the Kilo.
Yes it's a very odd system and very, very old but for some reason we British have stuck with it. -
Well, under Firefox 3.5 the forums kick me if I try to log on the main menu (it shows the welcome screen then redirect me to main menu and logging me out). Only way to log in I have is replying a thread.

I don't know if this is actually a bug but, well, here we go:
Sometimes, the game forget what cc emote have you chosen. That means I have to select the cce almost every time I log with a char.

I'm not breaking the CO NDA by stating this.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't you be breaking it by stating that you are tied to the CO NDA?
In the past most NDA's I've been part of stated that you do not disclose the fact that you are part of it! First rule of NDA is... etc..
[/ QUOTE ]
First rule of NDA is "You don't talk about fight club"...
Oops, I think I mixed things. -
It would be great to add a button to interchanges color on costume creation screen. Sometimes it's boring to memorize or to note their coords on the color grid just because you want switch colors.
And, maybe, you could add more gradients to the grid too (like in the new power-color grid ). -
I think the no-color option won't be available because of PVP. You have to know who attacked and what he used; it would be odd to be hit by an invisible fireball.

There may be a clue to the demons in Desdemona's biography.
It says she can summon an "immensely strong Sothoth demon."
That is a very Lovecraftian sounding name, so maybe we will get some cool demons. It's not the name of any of the CoT demons anyway.
Personally, I like hordlings.

I have been thinking. Now that we have the tech for changing animations of powers... will we get the "/flyemote"'s in form of alternate animations for Flight?
-
OK, question answered (sort of).

What is the story behind Malaise?
Being a long time player of CoH I know that Malaise used to stand in Independance Port when Sister Psyche's body was in the hospital and her mind was sharing Aurora Borealis' body.
After Sister Psyche got her own body back, Malaise disappered and I'd heard that he'd gone evil again. He shows up in the 4th Shadow Shards TF as an AV. Is this the Preatorian Malaise (who is definatly evil) or the Malaise that was stood in IP? Malaise also shows up in the Recluse SF as a member of the Vindicators, so can't be all bad.
I'm guessing you'll save this answer for just before Going Rogue comes out :P

Natural = You aren't 'super' at all; your amazing talents come from intense training and... => muscular females
If this happens, I would happily pay way more than the usual $10.
POWERS:
Air strike: High lethal + fire damage, Targeted AoE, very long recharge.
Summon F16: An F16 lands, you step in and use as a travel power. Very long recharge.

ou aren't 'super' at all; your amazing talents come from intense training and innate abilities. You might have been driven to physical excellence by some all-encompassing desire for perfection or revenge, or perhaps you are not human at all, and possess powers natural to your race. With your natural origin you have to rely on your cunning and skill. This origin will give you access to Throwing Knives. This attack has a very short range and deals minor Lethal damage, as well as inflicting additional Damage over Time. -
Well, if I'm not wrong, villains' fire power have a greenish touch, and ice powers are darker than heroes'.
