Quote:He didn't really "go" through the Guardian, he just ran close enough to click on the dialog-box buttons and load into the next zone.I want to. Have some friends in it now. one posted the below pic.
Said he went through the Guardian too....
But essentially the City on the Edge of Never is cool and there are several other cool episodes. -
Quote:Obviously, Kheldian gameplay requires more than being able to keep their toggles up while being mezzed. My guess as to why Kheldian population is quite low, and will probably remain low, is that:If the Warshades and Peacebringers can keep there toggles up, even when mezzed, like anything else, why are there so few of them now days?
- They still require a Lv50 Hero to unlock them.
- They require more player-effort to build and play efficiently than the other classes.
- Some people may simply shy away from them because of the forms and their appearance and/or gameplay.
- Even with recent Kheldian improvements, arguably the most powerful "power" Kheldians have, is the passive boosts they get from their team-mates, and some people may dislike that fact.

Quote:To be honest, I never even bothered looking at the numbers before I started playing Kheldians and figured out that our inherent bonus was one of the most powerful "powers" Kheldians had. Do I get to see numbers like you do? You bet, both when I play with PuG's or friends. However, as I mostly play CoH on my Kheldians and that usually (if at all) happens on UI (my All Kheldian SG) SG nights (which I've been neglecting lately in favor of... other pursuits...) I've come to not really care about the numbers themselves anyway.I don't know... Maybe I'm a little spoiled, but since I play on Freedom, I'm never at a loss for a good coalition team or PuG, so I regularly see numbers like this (like every day)...
Quote:I can see how solo'ers may think those numbers are ridiculous, but as someone who constantly plays with teams, I don't even see why anyone would want to regularly solo with a team-based AT with team-based inherents... *shrug*

Eclipse isn't up, but hey, it's always awesome to have a bunch of buffers/debuffers with you, right?
-
I'd be willing to bet that this flag is actually implemented as a database function (stored procedure that updates externally added tables, or it may be a view) and therefore is not persisted as an actual field in the account table. This was probably done to keep database restructuring at a minimum since such changes usually require code changes as well as introduce unwanted issues.

Quote:Now I finally understand that sense of dread I felt when the Devs introduced IO's....So today, she contacted me and asked me how to farm with her new level 50 and asked me for tips on how to leverage the market to get influence quickly. She told me that she had started an electric/shield scrapper, not because she enjoyed playing scrappers, but because they were good farmers. Somehow, this left me a little sad.

Quote:If you re-read my original post, you'll find that I've tried to cover this option, but with another power, and not Glowing Touch. Allow me to quote myself here:I may have idea for a change to glowing touch which by the way sounds creepy. ("He touched me and made me feel good...
) Turn glowing touch into a pbaoe toggle aura that heals everyone in its radius just like a slightly lesser version of the pain domination power for corruptors.
Quote:Remodel Reform Essence so that it has a healing aura component that works like the Empathy/Radiation AoE Heal, thus leaving Restore Essence to heal the PB by a large amount of HP and the team around it by a modest amount of HP.
Quote:...The shape shifters don't want to see buffs for the human form enthusiasts because they feel that if human was more viable then they might be obliged to use it more.
To be honest, at this stage, I'd be incredibly impressed with the Devs if they chose to implement just my -Res idea and leave everything else as it is. -
Quote:I've been trying to avoid suggestions like this because then many people would simply scream for Peacebringers to become Human-only and shield the team, no matter what else a Peacebringer can do!In that case I would rather use Storm as a base than Empathy. Allow the human from shields to affect a team (like steamy mist) and extend the range on Glowing Touch - job done.

Quote:Umm... you forgot to mention that we Dwarves want a /drinkscoffee animation!
- In squid form, she wants to wear a big purple bow on her tail. Yes I am serious.
- In dwarf form, she wants to be a tiny, short dwarf. A mini version of them. A small, angry, vicious mini dwarf form of doom.
- And she wants sparkles. Purple sparkle auras, for every single form that she morphs into.
Quote:I'd say before a power customization rollback, I'd be looking at a total server upgrade (IMO). -
To be honest, after seeing how laggy the game has become, at least when I'm playing my Kheldians, and sometimes on some of my other characters, I'm quite ready for the whole colour-customization feature to be rolled back!!!!

I suppose VEATs are teamleaders as well, but of a different sort, villainous as opposed to heroic.
Quote:I missed the part about all PB attacks having the -res component, but I still think it would be OK to allow it to stack without a hard cap. No debuff lasts forever, and some of them would expire during shapeshifting and other non-attack activities.
Quote:Buffs > heals, in my opinion, and single-target powers tend to be stronger than their AoE counterparts. I believe it would be easier to target and maintain an ST buff as well - no more "Gather for AM," although that's a playstyle issue. -
Quote:While it is true that any AT can lead a team, I maintain however, that Kheldians are uniquely suited for the job by-design based on their inherent power (gaining buffs from team mates) and their ability to switch forms and respond to combat situations as they evolve or even before they emerge, without having to rely on powers other than those already in their primary and secondary sets. The roles of Khelds are varied, but "born leader" is not one of them. That depends on the player, and any AT can lead a team.
Quote:On topic, I like the suggestion of the PB melee attacks having a stacking -res component. As far as I know, there aren't any other melee attacks that apply -res, and I also think the -res shouldn't have a hard limit. The debuffs from Sonic Attack don't have a hard limit, for example, but they do expire over time.
That could be a good idea as well I guess, but I feel much better with an AoE buff/heal on a slower recharge than a ST power on faster recharge. -
Quote:Ahhh... sorry, I thought you meant that power-button highlighting would be up to User Settings, not whether or not individual powers could revert you to Human-form. If this were left for the user to decide, I'd have no problems with that of course.I'd like what I suggested that powers change me back to human, but as I mentioned before this could be a USER SETTING. That way it doesn't HAVE TO BE YOUR WAY or MY WAY. People could choose.

Quote:I do the same.I put most of my human powers on my second and third tray. I use tray 8 and 9 for form powers.
I switch between trays 1 8 and 9 whenever I switch forms via binds.
Quote:I'd love to be able to tell when my human form powers finish recharging. As is, I cannot tell if they are close or done unless I notice the sparkle.
This leads me to miss extractions and hastens.
Quote:I'd like to be able to click a human power in the shift tray and it would queue then change me to human before firing off the power.
This would be better than leaving it unusable.
Quote:A lighter shade of grey could be used to notify what powers are related to current form. An option in-game could allow using powers of another form.
For me, making them look like they haven't recharged is a hindrance given that this game isn't as supportive of mods.

Quote:I think I'd find this more confusing than helpful, especially with powers like Mire (WS) and Flare (PB) that are duplicated across Human/Dwarf and the different blasts that are duplicated across Human/Nova. I'd love this though, but I've grown accustomed to deliberately transforming down to Human form and activating a Human-form power in-between transitions from Dwarf to Nova.Make all powers available to be queued up. If a power from a different form is selected, shift to that form first.

Quote:I think what makes the biggest difference over-time is that Warshades have a pet (or 2 or 3) that can be responsible for large amounts of both DPS and slow-debuff. It really makes a difference, especially when fighting tougher targets.I actually think Warshades are fine and that they recieve a significant payoff for having to put up with clunky mechanics - I don't really think that the same can be said for Peacebringers and its a bit of a shame really, they show a lot of promise but ultimately end up falling a bit flat in my opinion.
-
Quote:Actually, one of my most favorite tricks is to taunt enemies to me in Dwarf form, and then when they swarm, use White Dwarf Flare and quickly switch to Human-form and call out my Photon Seekers coupled with Pulsar heal myself if I need to and switch to Nova to finish everything off.The only reason to shift out for a peace bringer is to use reform essence.
Quote:Build up has such a short duration that most of it is squandered in the time it takes to shift back to nova and find a suitable target.
Quote:I like the wishfull thinking tag on the thread - kind of sums up keldians
EDIT :: By no means do I mean to imply that Peacebringers are perfect, especially not in comparison to Warshades, but if I were to improve Peacebringers specifically, I'd do so by adding a self-stacking -Res debuff component to every Peacebringer attack rather than re-design the AT. -
Quote:As I am a fan of form-shifting, you could oftentimes catch me form-shifting mid-battle against a single enemy. So, to be honest, the following list contains the only improvements I would like to see done to form-shifting:While Star Seer has a valid point in that the shifting animations could certainly stand to be cut down and streamlined, I have to vehemently disagree with staying in one form for 90% of a mission on a tri-form build, let alone an entire Task Force. While the shapeshifts we have now could use improvement, they aren't nearly so bad as to force a player to stay in one form for that reason alone. It's annoying and as an aggregate it's a significant amount of time lost that could be time spent dealing damage, but it's not in and of itself a reason not to shift or to shift only once per mission.
- Return form-shifting to what it used to be so that with the help of keybinds a power from Nova or Dwarf forms could be executed virtually at the same time as a Human-form power.
- Add a fail-safe to Dwarf form so that being hit by a mezzing attack will merely cost the Kheldian time in the shift process, but not completely de-toggle the shift process!
- Add a gameplay feature that allows Kheldians to dedicate a power-tray per form and ensure that form-switching also replaces the correct tray at a screen position designated by the player.
- Return form-shifting to what it used to be so that with the help of keybinds a power from Nova or Dwarf forms could be executed virtually at the same time as a Human-form power.

Quote:As far as I've seen, Infinity is quite friendly towards Kheldians. I mean, on ITF's even most Villains respect our Kheldian awesomeness.I also know that Infinity has an all-Kheld SG that's led by LordXenite, so that server is most likely Kheld-friendly as well...

Quote:If only we were that common...In several zones, I've been broadcasting.. "Any Umbral Illuminati SG members on?" Should I have gotten a response, I was going to request membership, but so far...radio silence
Try again on Mondays 20:00 EST. Or, PM me with your in-game handle and/or character name. -
Infinity.
Quote:While we have these free server xfers going on, I'd be interested in having my PB go there and join up... assuming I meet your stringent qualifications, of course -
Hm... an ingenious attempt at promoting a tank-mage concept... I salute your effort, but must say I doubt anything like this will ever happen.

Quote:I wish it weren't the case, but lately, I've started using /netgraph to examine my connection's performance when bind/transformation issues occur, and there's a definite correlation. Sorry this is happening, but as OF2 said, you're not alone in this....the transformation will not take place *and the binds stop working*....
Has anyone ever had this happen to them? And if so, does anyone know how to *stop* it from happening? It's really getting on my nerves. -
Prior engagements prevent me from doing this on the next few weekends. I'd love to dedicate a Monday meeting of the Umbra Illuminati to (or even just any other weekday, Mon - Wed inclusive, after 8pm EST) an AKITF on the Test Server, however, as I can speak for just myself, I can only wish you guys good luck and await your successful return with tales of glory!
