He didn't really "go" through the Guardian, he just ran close enough to click on the dialog-box buttons and load into the next zone.

But essentially the City on the Edge of Never is cool and there are several other cool episodes.

Obviously, Kheldian gameplay requires more than being able to keep their toggles up while being mezzed. My guess as to why Kheldian population is quite low, and will probably remain low, is that:
    • They still require a Lv50 Hero to unlock them.

    • They require more player-effort to build and play efficiently than the other classes.

    • Some people may simply shy away from them because of the forms and their appearance and/or gameplay.

    • Even with recent Kheldian improvements, arguably the most powerful "power" Kheldians have, is the passive boosts they get from their team-mates, and some people may dislike that fact.

To be honest, I never even bothered looking at the numbers before I started playing Kheldians and figured out that our inherent bonus was one of the most powerful "powers" Kheldians had. Do I get to see numbers like you do? You bet, both when I play with PuG's or friends. However, as I mostly play CoH on my Kheldians and that usually (if at all) happens on UI (my All Kheldian SG) SG nights (which I've been neglecting lately in favor of... other pursuits...) I've come to not really care about the numbers themselves anyway.

You and me both. The one thing I will say, is that there's plenty of synergy within an All Kheldian Team so that the numbers aren't that important as long as everyone is working together.
  5. Eclipse isn't up, but hey, it's always awesome to have a bunch of buffers/debuffers with you, right?
  6. I'd be willing to bet that this flag is actually implemented as a database function (stored procedure that updates externally added tables, or it may be a view) and therefore is not persisted as an actual field in the account table. This was probably done to keep database restructuring at a minimum since such changes usually require code changes as well as introduce unwanted issues.

Now I finally understand that sense of dread I felt when the Devs introduced IO's.

If you re-read my original post, you'll find that I've tried to cover this option, but with another power, and not Glowing Touch. Allow me to quote myself here:

The idea behind this would be to allow all PB variants to heal team-mates around them, especially in the heat of battle, but also let the Devs replace Glowing Touch with a power that's more appealing, or leave Glowing Touch as is and thus improve even more the ability of PBs to heal their team-mate.

It's not that I do not want to see Human-only Kheldians successful. I simply do not wish to see other players treat Kheldian players like VEAT players are treated if the team finds out the VEAT in question doesn't have his team-buff powers. I believe Kheldians were always meant to be an exercise in uniqueness and variety, and team-mates must not be allowed to dictate to a Kheldian player how their character should be built.

To be honest, at this stage, I'd be incredibly impressed with the Devs if they chose to implement just my -Res idea and leave everything else as it is.

I've been trying to avoid suggestions like this because then many people would simply scream for Peacebringers to become Human-only and shield the team, no matter what else a Peacebringer can do!

  11. To be honest, after seeing how laggy the game has become, at least when I'm playing my Kheldians, and sometimes on some of my other characters, I'm quite ready for the whole colour-customization feature to be rolled back!!!!

The question is all about balancing stuff. If the Devs ever decide to add a stackable -Res component to every PB attack, across all forms, I trust they'd balance things so that PB's don't out-do WS's and/or other AT's.

The idea guys isn't to turn PB's into healers, but merely ensure that a heal from a PB is both easy for the PB to fit into their combat-activities, and still meaningful for the player(s) receiving the heal.

While it is true that any AT can lead a team, I maintain however, that Kheldians are uniquely suited for the job by-design based on their inherent power (gaining buffs from team mates) and their ability to switch forms and respond to combat situations as they evolve or even before they emerge, without having to rely on powers other than those already in their primary and secondary sets.

The debuffs from Sonic Attack don't have a hard limit, for example, but they do expire over time.
I actually meant that every attack of every form, ranged, melee and AoE, will have the -Res component.

That could be a good idea as well I guess, but I feel much better with an AoE buff/heal on a slower recharge than a ST power on faster recharge.

Ahhh... sorry, I thought you meant that power-button highlighting would be up to User Settings, not whether or not individual powers could revert you to Human-form. If this were left for the user to decide, I'd have no problems with that of course.

That's where we differ and the emphasized part would totally ruin my style as I do my best to never sit and wait for any power. If human-form powers were allowed to detoggle me from Dwarf or Nova, it would be an inconvinience that could become fatal if even one enemy — oh lets say a mezzing Boss, or a Cimeroran Boss — remains alive and gets a lucky shot.

For me, making them look like they haven't recharged is a hindrance given that this game isn't as supportive of mods.
Now this I totally agree with!

I think I'd find this more confusing than helpful, especially with powers like Mire (WS) and Flare (PB) that are duplicated across Human/Dwarf and the different blasts that are duplicated across Human/Nova.

I'd love this though, but I've grown accustomed to deliberately transforming down to Human form and activating a Human-form power in-between transitions from Dwarf to Nova.

I think what makes the biggest difference over-time is that Warshades have a pet (or 2 or 3) that can be responsible for large amounts of both DPS and slow-debuff. It really makes a difference, especially when fighting tougher targets.

Actually, one of my most favorite tricks is to taunt enemies to me in Dwarf form, and then when they swarm, use White Dwarf Flare and quickly switch to Human-form and call out my Photon Seekers coupled with Pulsar — heal myself if I need to — and switch to Nova to finish everything off.

EDIT :: By no means do I mean to imply that Peacebringers are perfect, especially not in comparison to Warshades, but if I were to improve Peacebringers specifically, I'd do so by adding a self-stacking -Res debuff component to every Peacebringer attack rather than re-design the AT.

While the shapeshifts we have now could use improvement, they aren't nearly so bad as to force a player to stay in one form for that reason alone. It's annoying and as an aggregate it's a significant amount of time lost that could be time spent dealing damage, but it's not in and of itself a reason not to shift or to shift only once per mission.
As I am a fan of form-shifting, you could oftentimes catch me form-shifting mid-battle against a single enemy. So, to be honest, the following list contains the only improvements I would like to see done to form-shifting:
    1. Return form-shifting to what it used to be so that with the help of keybinds a power from Nova or Dwarf forms could be executed virtually at the same time as a Human-form power.

    2. Add a fail-safe to Dwarf form so that being hit by a mezzing attack will merely cost the Kheldian time in the shift process, but not completely de-toggle the shift process!

    3. Add a gameplay feature that allows Kheldians to dedicate a power-tray per form and ensure that form-switching also replaces the correct tray at a screen position designated by the player.
I believe that for what it allows a Kheldian to do, form-shifting should come with a price, i.e. you lose some time in battle, and anything done to correct DPS-loss due to shape-shifting, in my opinion, should be accomplished in ways other than merely decreasing the time it takes to shift forms, and definitely not by adding another Human-only Kheldian variant.
