War Witch and Zwillinger at 35:41 minutes from Off The Cape: Issue 33 Are you a Good War Witch, or a Bad War Witch?...
"I don't even know if they've figured out the Easter Egg in Praetoria yet. I don't remember reading about that one Easter Egg with the Clockwork Venders. I don't know if they've figured it out yet."
"Whaaaaat?"
"I just gave a major hint though, just now."
"Uh, oh. Now we're going to see like a forum thread pop up 'What's This Easter Egg?!?' "
"And I never said one word because I wanted people to kinda discover it on their own. I kept it secret. Maybe I just didn't catch the forum post but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any."
Well, I couldn't find the Easter Egg reference on the forums or Wiki.
Anyone know what Easter Egg was hidden by Melissa related to the Praetoria Clockwork Venders?
And also: Of course a forum thread would be made, Zwillinger! We couldn't make a liar of you or our new producer from neglect. -

My apologies again for not making last night. I woke up long enough to post from my phone, then slept the next five hours solid.
Tonight I played catch-up with the three arcs to prepare for next time: Officer Wincott Vs The Trolls (Ouro), Flux the Outcast (Ouro), Julius the Kind Hearted Troll (Ouro)
A plant/poison controller is fun on the Horde teams, but makes for a slow solo crawl.Looking forward to fun next week!

Apologies, just confirmed I am not going to make it tonight.
I am dead on my feet, almost literally, and said feet demand I recover in bed.
Please say "Hi" to the Hollows for me! -
Quote:Not as baby booties. Certainly not for BNY! That would just be... *shudders*As for Baby Booties for Icon... I dunno... the only baby that I know of in the game is BNY... and, sorry, but that kid ain't gonna look cute no matter what ya dress 'im in.
No, no, I was thinking their designs would look nice as sneaker options in the boot category. -
Quote:This one?LoL
I have to admit inspiration came from Layla's VIP scarf back in... when was that? Thanksgiving-ish?
I've been making high top booties for my friends for a few years, now. When I saw that scarf, I instantly thought "oooo! Hero/Villie booties!"
You did those in about 20 hours each pair? Wow, that is fast! Speedy and stylish! Hmm, I think I know what to recommend in the All Things Art thread for Icon's next fashion trend... -
*hands over a bucket of fish* So long, and thanks for all the fun, Beastyle!
-
Come and be welcome, Hit Streak!
-
Well, well!
You were absolutely right. A solo Rogue can get access to the Underground Neutropolis Resistance Base for the Valentine tip - Link to screenshot proof
And Belladonna accepts the Valentine delivery, too - Link to screenshot proof
(This got me curious and so I tried, and successfully entered, the Underground Neutropolis Resistance Base as a solo Rogue again without having the Valentine tip. However my Rogue could gain access to neither the Underground Imperial Resistance Base nor the Underground Nova Resistance Base. I wonder why only Underground Neutropolis is open to Rogues?)
I'll correct the opening post again.
Good catch, mousedroid! -
-
-
Hm, having the tip did not allow my Villain to enter the Underground Neutropolis Resistance Base - Link to screenshot proof
Nor did adding a Hero teammate allow my Villain to enter.
The Hero teammate could enter, but could not deliver the Valentine even when it was selected as the active mission - Link to screenshot proof
Ah, well. It was worth a shot.
I'll try again this weekend after I re-earn the tip on a Rogue. -
Quote:I beg to differ. I got this Valentine tip on my Rogue and I was able to complete it.Quote:I did it the first night these were available, so I'm a little fuzzy on how I completed it, but I know it took me a while to figure it out.
<snip>
Ultimately I don't think it had anything to do with being teamed with a Resistance character since I couldn't open the other Resistance door, and I'm not even sure if the other character was still logged on when I took my Rogue to Neutropolis. I think it was really just a matter of going to the correct Resistance door.
I'll try again when I get that specific Valentine tip to drop as a Villain, and again in a couple days without and with the tip as a Rogue. -
Really? I thought the underground base was only accessable by Resistance, Hero, and Vigilante alignments. Huh. I'll have to test that out, too.
-
Nice to have confirmed that the RNG is WAI for me.
Quote:Has anyone tried delivering it to the Ms. Liberty standing in front of City Hall?Quote:Yeah, you can delivery the Sands one to the Trainer Liberty. The Fort Trident thing is a glitch whenever there's a talk mission that involves Liberty.Quote:Are you sure you can't deliver Ms. Liberty's valentine to her in Atlas Park?
I'm too lazy to redo the images in the first post, but I corrected the text information.
Thank you for spotting that, JKCarrier, Mad_Scientist_JC, and NightErrant.
Also good to know that it doesn't work the other way around; thanks, Organica. -
That was fun and different, running two teams through the Synapse TF while in the same league. Too bad Babbage was too scared from Round 1 to come out and play for our team as well.
I look forward to next week!

***** SPOILERS AHEAD! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! *****
So the reason I tracked all this data over nine days, besides having fun with spreadsheets, was because the Valentine tips made me laugh. I wanted to ensure I saw all the story tidbits.
There were a couple (pun intended) that I especially enjoyed...
Quote:Hahaha! This was my favorite reaction, by far. Enjoy the chocolates, War Witch!TO TURNDOWN GIRL FROM DESPERATE GUY...
Valentine Misdelivery
War Witch just gives you a look as you deposit the gift basket in front of her. She spies the kitten, picks it up
and reads the attached note. After a moment she accepts the gifts and motions for you to move along while she
quietly opens the box of chocolates and looks around with guilty eyes.
Quote:TO LUMINARY FROM CITADEL...
Valentine Delivery
My services are at your disposal, [character]. Oh, what's this?
Luminary reviews the phone message in the span of a heartbeat and then looks over to Citadel.
Yes!There's going to be another CoH signature wedding! I like the touch that even a robot measures their cycles for the equivalent of a heartbeat when it comes to romance.
-
TL;DR version...
- There are two Valentine tip that cannot be completed by a Vigilante or Rogue:
from Feelings overwhelming my processes, Delivery to B.O.T.L.E.R. (Fort Trident)
from Percy Winkley, Delivery to Can of Trash (Fort Trident)
*** Edit 1: from Arbiter Sands, Misdelivery to Ms. Liberty (Fort Trident) can be completed at Ms. Liberty (Atlas Park) - Link to screenshot proof
*** Edit 2: from Mysterious Napkin Writer, Delivery to Belladonna Vetrano (Underground Neutropolis) can be completed by a Rogue (as well as by a Hero or Vigilante, but not by a Villain) even though it is located in the Resistance Base - Link to screenshot proof

Spreadsheet Notes:
* Names that were different from the Compiling list of Valentines forum thread.
** Valentines that cannot be delivered by a Vigilante or Rogue
# Zone where one or more Valentines tips were dismissed
Also, I did a bunch of extra hunts/dismissing of Valentine tips in Dark Astoria to make sure I got them all. After dismissing 280+ Valentine tips I concluded that the following two reports were incorrect:
from Anti-Matter, Delivery to Dominatrix -or- Misdelivery to Neuron
from Dr. Aeon, Delivery to Olivia Darque -or- Misdelivery to Countess Crey
FYIs:
- Can hold 3 Valentine tips at the same time as 3 Alignment Mission tips. I was slow figuring this obvious fact out.
- Unlike Alignment tips, Valentine tips remain while moving between Paragon, Rogue Isles, and Praetoria.
- Like Alignment tips, Valentine tips clear upon an alignment change. Grr.
- If you switch sides (ie Hero to Villain), you do not have to do the opposite faction's contact to unlock Valentine tip drops again.
- "Arrow of Romance" powers and "Arrow of Jealousy" power each cap at 99 available uses.
Hunted for Valentine tips mainly in Talos Island and Dark Astoria. Dark Astoria, with all the large mobs close together, is now my favorite zone for hunting tips. The only Valentine tip which didn't drop there for me was A Huge Admirer Of Your Work. Early on I tried hunting in Sharkhead Isle and First Ward to see if tips dropped in specific zones. A few dropped in Rikti War Zone during a Mothership Raid event.
! One tip surprised me by dropping in Cap Au Diable when my Phantasm knocked off some mobs near the Vanguard door. Valentine tips, like Alignment tips, are only meant to drop from level 20+ enemies; thus not WAI.
==> My conclusion from all this is that both the Valentine tips and the "Arrow of Romance" / "Arrow of Jealousy" reward powers are subject to the whim of the RNG. If there is some logic table involved, it is too complex for my sample and might as well by RNG.
Characters used:
Vigilante - Dynexus - Level 50+ Controller (Illusion/Force Field): 20120212-0543 until 20120216-0018, 20120216-0150 until 20120218-1614, 20120220-0008 until 20120220-0410
Hero - Prosys - Level 43 Controller (Illusion/Kinetics): 20120216-0120, 20120216-0122, and 20120216-0124
Hero - Dynexus - Level 50+ Controller (Illusion/Force Field): 20120218-1637 until 20120220-0005 -
Say, I never did hear, how did this run go for you?
-
Awwwwwwww!
Too adorable!!!
Do you allow hugs, Dr T? I want a cuddle before he next saves the world.
Thank you for continuing to share pictures of Mini-Turg. Hope you are proud to be the father of such cuteness. -
So 9 deaths on Part 1 wasn't too bad. (Can't remember the results on Part 2.) Go Team Iceflow!
-
Had fun tonight on the double Positron TFs. Thanks for the runs, Freedom Horde!
-
Very amusing! Thank you for tonight's smile, Steelclaw.
Quote:Hmmm, I know some people like this. Time for a background check...Crey:
* Think "I don't know... I just work here..." is a hilarious response to any question. -
Note to self: I need to visit more of the RP forum regularly or keep missing good background reads like this one.
I agree with Valor. When will we get to see Glory-Girl at PCU? And is there a screenshot of the costume?
Edit: Found a picture you posted of Glory-Girl. I especially like the balance of colors, well done! -
Welcome back, Steelclaw! It is so good to have you and your witty words brightening the forums again.
My housemates extend their compliments, too, for the laughter you induce. Thank you.
Hm, been a while, time to watch that movie again...
Quote:* Avoid the green! Get out of the green! If you're fighting Anti-Matter jump out of the green zone! If you're running a MoM stay away from the GREEN!! No wonder some people take so long to work up the courage to click the green button to start the mission in the first place...
Quote:* "But... I can't build my next tier power... it... it requires Biomorphic Goo and well... he's too cute! I can't bring myself to use him in a recipe... I've named him Squishy..."
Quote:* I want to start a petition for the Devs to add something to Ouroboros. Directly between the Empyrean and Astral vendors I want an opening in the fence and beyond it a suspended path that loops around and about before coming back to another opening directly beside the first. Nothing special about it, just a small winding walking path. Directly next to the opening I want a small sign with an arrow pointing that reads: "This way to Incarnate Trail."
